What A Feeling

“Perfect. Take a look.”
Becca turns to face the mirror to see the makeup Kara has done for her. “Wow, Kara, you made me beautiful.”
“You always look beautiful, just ask Niall.” Kara winks.
“I can’t believe how nervous I am.”
Kara smirks. “Well, the man did pay a ton of money for you, so there is a bit of pressure for this date.”
“You are so not helpful, Kara.”
She laughs. “Sorry. So where are you guys going?”
“I have no idea. He just said he was sending a car for me.”
“Wherever you go, you look amazing.”
“Thanks for everything, Kara.”

On the drive to their date, Becca goes through her schedule on her phone. Anything to take her mind off her nerves.
When the car stops, she looks up, shocked. The driver has brought her to Niall’s house.
As the driver helps her from the car, Niall appears at the front door.
He looks incredible. What have I gotten myself into?
She walks to meet him.
“B, you look beautiful.” He leans in close. Becca is expecting a kiss like last night, instead Niall gives her a sweet kiss on her cheek.
Wondering if he can see the disappointment on her face, she joins him in the house. “You look amazing, Niall.”
He turns, giving her a wink. “Thanks. Come on in the kitchen, we can talk while I finish our dinner.”
“You’re cooking? Wow, it smells incredible.”
Niall grins. After tending to the food, he moves to Becca. Putting his hands on her waist. “I thought this would be nicer than going to a restaurant.”
“Yes, it is.” Becca anxiously waits for the kiss. Instead, he reaches for a bottle of wine.
“Would you like some?”
“Sure.” She replies, once again disappointed.
“How was your day?”
Becca perks up. “It was great. Mrs. Davis arranged all the exclusive interviews for me today. My boss was very happy.”
“Did you mention how you got the interviews?”
She smiles. “No, I didn’t.”
Turning his laptop to face her, Niall says. “Well, he may find out.”
Oh crap, an article about the charity auction; a picture of Niall and I front and center.
As she reads the article, Niall moves behind her, whispering in her ear. “Good looking couple.”
She swallows hard, holding the counter to brace herself. Taking a large sip of wine for courage, Becca turns quickly. Instead of at the stove, she finds Niall directly behind her. “Oh.” She giggles.
‘Sorry.” Niall says.
Taking his hand. “No, it’s fine. Well, it’s better than fine. It’s...um.”
Niall laughs. “Are you alright, B?”
“Yes, it’s just...when you’re this close, I...um.”
He grins, moving even closer. “Do I make you nervous?”
Her breath catches. “A little. I’ve had trouble concentrating ever since that kiss last night.”
Did I really just say that out loud?
Niall smirks. “You liked that?”
Becca licks her lips. “Yes, very much.”
He gets a serious look. His eyes locked on her lips. “Me too, Darling.”
Just as his lips touch hers, the oven timer goes off. Niall pulls back, blowing out a breath, loudly. Moving to the oven, he says. “I swear, I’m gonna take you somewhere with no interruptions.”
Becca takes another large sip of wine, draining the glass.
“Speaking of trips.”
Niall turns to her.
She musters all her courage. “My boss is sending me to Ireland, to cover the golf tournament.”
“What? Ah that’s sick, B.”
“I was hoping you’d want to come with me.” She looks down, then back up to meet his eyes.
He smiles sweetly. “B, I’d love to go to Ireland with you.”
She sighs, relieved. “We could go a few days early, you could show me around?”
Niall moves in close, putting his arms around her waist.
“On one condition.” He says.
“What’s that?”
Niall’s blue eyes grow dark with want. “As long as I get to kiss you like this, while we’re there.”
He moves in to kiss her, like the night before. This time his tongue finds hers.
Pulling back slightly, Becca says. “You can kiss me like that, as often as you’d like.”
He grins, moving in for another.
