Working Things Out

Louis and I went back and forth about why I was here. When I was just about to hang up, I heard one of the boys yell "See you in a little bit."
I hung up casually, but then it hit me. See you in a little while? What does that mean? I'm gonna see them! Well, maybe.
I knew that the boys were in Pennsylvania, so they weren't that far away. I mean we're in New York right now. After about 45 minutes, I heard a doctor come into the room. It was a male this time.
"Mrs.Carder, there is someone here to see you." he said. I nodded and gestured for him to let the guests in.
"Alyssa!" I heard Harry yell. All of the lads, including Zayn, ran over to the hospital bed and questioned "Are you alright?" I nodded and rolled over to face them.
Liam pointed at Omari and asked "Who's this?" I chuckled and Omari blushed.
"This is Omari. She helped me get away from Jake. And she kind of beat him up herself. The best part is, we found out we're step-sisters!" I exclaimed.
Zayn looked shocked but soon hid his emotion. He sat in the chair that was farthest away from my bed. I looked at Niall and saw him whisper something to Omari and Omari nodded smiling.
As I was about to speak, Louis announced "I think I'm gonna go to the bathroom." Then, Harry, Niall, Liam, and Omari followed along as well, excusing their selves out of the room, which left me and Zayn together.
We sat in silence for a few minutes, but Zayn just glared at me the whole time. Finally, he spoke up by saying "So that's your step-sister?"
I nodded and looked out the window. I guess the boys left thinking that if they left, we would talk. Well I'm not sure if that's gonna happen.
I motioned for Zayn to stand up. He walked over next to me and said "What?"
I smiled and told him "Just because we're not together doesn't mean we have to hate each other. Ok?" Zayn nodded and bent down and hugged me.
A few minutes later, the rest of the boys and Omari walked in. Omari leaned over and whispered "Did you guys work things out?"
"Kind of." I replied.
