Fighting For Her

Back For You

“Everly Chamberlain has been missing since Monday night. She was heading home from school and, from what her roommate said, never returned home. Her roommate and childhood friend, Brook, said she had tried contacting her several times, but no one answered. Later, her phone was off. If you have seen her or have any leads please contact the local police station as soon as possible. Her family and friends are very worried.” The newswoman handed the microphone over to a small lady, the missing girl’s picture flashing into the corner of the screen. The lady sniffled and wiped a few tears from her eyes. “This is so unlike Everly! She would never just disappear! She was so involved with school, a straight A student, had tons of friends, and was always willing to go out of her way for anyone she knew! Everly if you are watching this, please come home. I miss you so much!” The woman flashed off the screen and the news went back to the studio to discuss the weather.
“Woah, she was in my science class, she sat right across from me last semester! I wonder what happened ta her?” Niall, my roommate, spoke with genuine concern in his voice. He always worried about other people, in a good way. We had met just last year at university and instantly clicked. We became roommates just earlier this semester. “I don’t know man, but I feel connected to her in someway. Like I should be looking for her. I’ve seen her on campus a few times and she was always so beautiful,” it was weird. I didn’t know this girl, I had only seen her here and there on campus, but I felt a connection. She always would smile at me when I saw her walking. I had always wanted to talk to her, but I could never find the courage to go out of my comfort zone and speak with her…now I wouldn’t have the chance. It’s hard to explain, but I knew I was being given a task and I needed to follow through with finding her. “Ah come on Harry, it’s not your responsibility to find her. Don’t get too caught up!” Louis said, sliding me a cup of coffee. He was my other roommate. We lived together last year. We were randomly paired up in the dorms and we just became good mates. “Thanks man, but I don’t know it’s just… I can’t explain it.” I said taking a sip of the coffee. Finally, Liam woke up and walked out in his boxers. He rubbed his eyes, “What’s goin on?” He said looking at the concern on our faces. “Ya know that girl we had chemistry with last semester Liam? She was gorgeous, sat across from us? Super smart, always helped out! Ya know?” Niall said. “Yeah I remember her! Everly was it?” He began making some coffee. “Yeah, she’s missing. No one has seen or heard from her in three days! Lots of people are really worried seeing as how it isn’t like her!” Liam turned to face us. “Damn. That’s not good. I really hope she’s found and is safe! …Uh Harry are you alright mate?” I suddenly snapped back into reality. “Yeah man, just worried about her. I’ve gotta get a move on though! I have loads of things to do today!” I hopped off of my barstool and headed into my room to shower and set out. I didn’t have much to do today, but I wanted to go clear my head.
