Foreign Exchange

Nick's POV
"Ugh.." I groaned and tossed my pencil aside. "I don't understand.." I whined to Nicole. She giggled and shook her head.

"What don't you understand?" She asked, looking at the pieces of paper scattered around her.

"Everything!" I whined and huffed. Nicole scooted over to me and looked at my paper.

"Silly, you mixed up the formulas. You only use this formula when you're substituting" Nicole explained.

"What?" I asked, not wanting to work on math homework.

"How about we take a break?" Nicole suggested.

"Thank you!" I exaggerated and jumped up from the carpeted ground.

"Well, the new episode of Spongebob comes on soon, so yeah" Nikki smiled and I chuckled.

"Oh" I simply said and went to the kitchen to grab two juice boxes. When I returned, Nicole was sitting in front of the tv, flipping through the channels to find Spongebob. "Here" I said and tossed the juice box at her when she turned around.

"Thanks" she said and patted the spot next to her. I gladly sat down next to her and watched the channels flash by. After a few more channels, she finally landed on Spongebob. We mindlessly stared at the screen and sipped our juice, giggling and commenting on ridiculous things Patrick said. Halfway through the episode, my phone started ringing and I absently retrieved it from under the mountain of homework papers.

"Yeah" I answered, staring at the tv screen.

"Hey" Zayns deep British voice replied. I smiled and looked at Nicole who wasn't even paying attention to me.

"Hey" I said, standing up and walking to Nikki's room.

"Did you have fun last night?" Zayn asked and I nodded, remembering the fair last night. "well?" Zayn asked when I didn't respond.

"Oh well I nodded but you didn't see it. Yeah I had a fun time it was fun how are you?" I rushed, blushing. Zayn chuckled at me.

"That's good, and I'm fine. We wanted to know what you guys were doing today" Zayn said.

"Um, nothing really" I said and flopped in Nikki's bed.

"Oh, well we aren't either so.." Zayn awkwardly said, but it was cute.

"I'm guessing that you want to hang out?" I asked excitedly, biting on my smiling lips.

"Yeah" Zayn said. Nikki walked in the room and gave me a confused face. I moved my phone down to my chest and whispered to Nicole.

"They want to know if we want to hang out" I told her. She smiled and nodded.

"We'd love to Zayn" I spoke into the phone and Nikki's eyes widened.

"Zayn?" She mouthed and I nodded. She gave me a devious smile and suddenly called out.

"Nick stop touching yourself!!!" Nikki yelled. I blushed like crazy and shushed her.

"What?" Zayn asked.

"Nothing" I quickly said and stood up.

"Nick stop! What would Zayn think of this?" Nikki continued to yell and Iunged at her. She giggled and dodged out of the way. She snatched the phone from me and spoke.

"Hey Zayn" she smiled and I reached for my phone. She dodged again and jumped on her bed.

"Nick's been dying to hang out with you" Nikki said and I blushed.

"Nikki!" I yelled and jumped on her bed after her. I tackled her and she squealed. I grabbed the phone from her and sat on her.

"Hey Zayn" I breathed and glared down at Nicole.

"NICK LOVES Y-" Nikki started to yell, but I shoved a pillow in her face.

"So um, do you guys wanna come over? I know that Nikki's sister is at school, so we'll pick you up" Zayn said while Nikki flung her arms around.

"Yeah, that sounds great" I said as Nikkis hand pressed on my cheek.

"How about we pick you up in an hour?" Zayn asked and I smiled.

"That's perfect" I agreed.

"Oh, and when Anjelica gets out of school, she can come over too" Zayn added before we said our goodbyes. Nikki swatted the pillow out of her face and frowned.

"You could have killed me!" She exclaimed and I glared down at her.

"'Nick stop touching yourself?' Really Nikki?!" I snapped at her. She just smiled and stuck her tongue out.

"Oh you know you so do when you're alone" she teased and I blushed.

"No!!" I protested.

"Yeah yeah whatever, just get off me!" Nicole said.

"Nope, not until you apologize" I said, shaking my head.

"Sorry!" She said while rolling her eyes.

"Well that's not a polite way to apologize" I egged her on. She huffed, blowing a stray curl from in front of her face.

"I deeply apologize" she said in a polite tone. I got off her and she sat up.

"See? That wasn't so bad" I giggled and she groaned.

"Nick you weigh like five hundred pounds, stop being fat" she said and got off her bed. I poked my lean stomach and joked.

"Sorry" I giggled and Nikki looked through her closet.

"When are they coming?" She said, pulling out clothes.

"About an hour" I answered and walked over to her. Nikki pulled out her phone from her pajama pant pocket and quickly typed a message to someone.

"Okay, so Anjelica knows" Nikki said, looking through her closet again. Seconds later, her phone buzzed and she checked it. "And she said that she's going to be busy studying with a friend so she won't be able to come, oh well" Nikki said and turned to me. "I have some of your clothes in the hallway closet. You can shower in my bathroom and I'll just shower in Anjelicas" She told me, suddenly becoming responsible and mature.

"Yes ma'am" I said.

"Nikki!! What should I wear?!" I asked, panicking. I've been looking at the few clothes I kept at her house for a long time now and the boys were going to be here any minute. I grabbed the clothes and rushed to her room, where she was putting on some earrings.

"Nick you're not even changed" she said, looking at my barely clothes body. I was only wearing my boxers, but she's seen me in them plenty of times so it wasn't weird.

"That's because I don't know what to wear!?" I yelled and threw the clothes on her bed. Nikki walked over and pulled out some clothes from the pile.

"Wear this" She said, handing me my white shirt that had Lana Del Rey on it. "with this" she said, giving me jeans that I cut just above the knee."And wear them with your converse" she added. I smiled and looked down at the clothes in my hands.

"You're a fashion life saver" I said. She giggled and shook her head.

"Actually, I'm not. My fashion is out of wack, I'm just good at dressing people if they hand me clothes to pick through" she shrugged. I quickly threw on the clothes as she packed her adventure time bag with things. The doorbell rang just as I finished dressing.

"Oh no my hair!" I shrieked.

"Calm down" Nikki said, plopping a snap back down on my head. I sighed in relief and thanked her. "Yeah yeah, a fashion saver I know" she joked. The door bell rang again and we raced down the steps.

"WHAT TOOK YOU SO LONG!?" Louis yelled as we opened the door.

"Sorry, hair emergency" I gave him a sheepish smile and Louis flipped his hair.

"Oh, understandable" he smiled. "Lets go" Louis said and turned around to walk down the steps from that led to the parking lot.

"Oh, I need to go-"

"I've got it" Nikki said, holding up her bag, confirming that she has my phone. I smiled and Nikki locked the door. I hopped in the front seat and Nikki hopped in the back.

"Where's the others?" Nikki asked.

"Everyone has to come just to pick you two up?" Louis joked and backed out of the parking lot in front of Nikki's condo.

"No I was just wondering-"

"Why somebody other than me came to pick you up? Me, Liam and Harry are the only ones who can drive, but since they are living with me in MY uncles house, I only get to drive MY uncles car" Louis said, looking in the rear view mirror at Nikki.

"That makes sense" I said, looking out the window. The drive was about 10 minutes long, so they lived not far from Nicole and I. Louis pulled up in front of a big house. "Here we are" Louis said, parking the car in the driveway. We've never been to their place before, so I was excited to get toured around, hopefully by Zayn. We got out of the car and walked up to the big doors. Louis pulled on the handle, but frowned when it didn't open.

"That's funny, I left it unlocked...." Louis puzzled, but then quickly smile. "Guys" he said in a sing song voice. He knocked but no one answered.

"Louis, don't you have the key?" I said, pointing to the keys in his hand.

"Oh yeah" he said and Nicole and I let out a little chuckle. He unlocked the door and slowly took a step inside. He looked around, them motioned for us to come in. Nicole and I took slow steps behind him, mimicking his every move. The place was pretty big, and cute. There we steps smack down in the middle two paths on the side of it. Nicole and I followed Louis as he went on the right path. There were cute pictures of Louis and some man who I assumed was his uncle. We tiptoed into a living room with lots of couches and seats. A big tv hung on the wall and there was a game system hooked up to it. "They're here somewhere, but we've got to be quiet" Louis whispered and Nicole and I nodded. We walked into a kitchen and I noticed that the path on the left ended up here too. The kitchen was neat and there was an island in the middle of it. "Now!" Louis yelled and the boys ran in, spraying us with silly string. Nicole and I screamed and covered our faces with our arms.

"Ah!!!" They screamed, running around us.

"Got ya" niall laughed.

"Louis!" Nicole yelled at him and he sprayed silly string right in her face. Nicole gasped and the rest of us laughed. Nicole held out her hand to the side and Harry sprayed silly string in it. Nicole smiled at Louis and Louis gulped.

"Now Nico-" He said, but Nicole smashed the silly string in his face. Niall laughed hard and Nicole giggled.

"Got ya" she said as Louis wiped the silly string off his face.

"You just started war. This ain't over" Louis said, playfully giving her the evil eye. Nicole pulled some silly string off her and threw it at him.

"Oh it's never over when I'm involved" Nicole countered. I pulled off some silly string from my shirt and squished it between my fingers.

"Sorry, we just had to do it" Zayn chuckled, talking to me.

"Oh it's fine" I smiled. "That was fun."

"Yeah it was" Niall smirked.

"Boys?" a British man walked in. He had short dark hair, brown eyes, and a kind smile.

"Hey uncle" Louis said. "These are my friends I told you we invited over" Louis smiled and the man walked up to me.

"Hi, I'm Simon, nice to meet you" He said, holding out his hand. I shook it and introduced myself.

"Hi, I'm nick."

"Ah, so this is Nick. I've heard a bit about you" Simon said, looking over at Zayn. Zayn nodded and smiled. I blushed as millions of thoughts went through my mind. Does that mean he talks about me? How?

"And you are?" He asked Nicole, who was pulling silly string off her.

"Oh, I'm Nicole" she said, holding out her hand. Simon smiled wide and shook my hand.

"Ah, the famous Nicole. I've heard a lot about you" Simon said and looked at the boys. Harry and Liam blushed while the others smiled.

"I bet they tell you about all the embarrassing crazy stuff I do, but half of the reason that stuff happens is because of this joker playing his cards" Nicole joked, pointing at Louis and Simon laughed.

"Ah Louis, she's got humor" He said and Louis chuckled.

"So does her sister" Niall chimmed in and Simon nodded.

"Oh yes, and your sister. Where is she?"

"She's at school, she won't be able to come because she's busy studying" Nikki said and I saw Niall slump his shoulders.

"Well, that's to bad. Definitely have her come over next time" Simon said and Nicole nodded.

"I'll show you around while Louis is going to clean up this mess" Simon said and we all laughed, except for Louis of course.

Zayns POV
"Nick, you're doing it wrong" Liam chuckled and Nick huffed.

"I am?" he asked and Liam nodded, still chuckling. After we showed Nick and Nicole around, we decided to play a little FIFA, but Nick doesn't know how to play it.

"You're supposed to press this button" Liam said, pointing to the x button.

"Oh" Nick giggled. I smiled and watched Nick as he struggled to keep up with Liams instructions.

"Got it?" Liam asked once he finished explaining to Nick everything that he needed to know. Nick nodded, but couldn't hide the confused look on his face.

"Here, let me explain" I said and scooted over to Nicks free side. Liam handed me a controller and I explained to Nick, who was staring at me. "So now do you understand?" I asked. Nick just stared at me and I snapped my fingers in front of his face.

"Huh, what?" Nick said, slightly shaking his head and blinking.

"Did you even hear what I said?" I laughed and Nick blushed. "What were you thinking about?" I asked and Nick blushed more.

"He just was shocked by your beauty" Nikki joked and Nick glared at her. "It's a joke!" Nicole laughed and Nick sighed.

"Guys, I bought IN-N-OUT!" Simon said and we all ran to the kitchen.

"Ah you don't even know how much I love IN-N-OUT, thank you!" Nick said to Simon and Simon smiled.

"Well, you don't even know how much the boys love IN-N-OUT" Simon said and handed out burgers and fries.

"But we love pizza the most" Harry said through a mouthful of food. I nodded and chewed on some fries. Louis stole Nicoles fries and Nicole frowned.

"Boy, don't you dare touch my fries" Nicole said and Louis smiled.

"Or what?" He said and threw fries in Nicoles face.

"Louis" Simon started to say, but we ended up in a full on french fry fight. Once we settled down, Simon smiled at Louis. "Why don't you guys fun along while Louis cleans this up."

"Me? Again? Ughhh" Louis groaned and we all headed back to the living room.

"Hey, we should play hide and seek" Harry smiled and Nicole nodded with excitement.

"Yeah, we should hide from Louis and see if he can find us" Niall said, nibbling on his third cheeseburger.

"Okay, everyone split up with someone" I said and looked down at Nick. "Nicks with me." I said, claiming Nick. Nick blushed and smiled.

"Nicole's with me" Harry said and wrapped his arm around her waist. Nicole blushed and gave him a small "okay."

"That leaves Nialler and me" Liam smiled and they high fived.

"I'm coming guys!" Louis called out and we sprinted in all directions. I pulled Nick into the laundry room upstairs and we hid behind the dryer.

"Good hiding spot" Nick giggled and I smiled.

"Thanks" I said.

"So, is Louis good at hide and seek?" Nick asked, his face inches from mine.

"Actually, he's pretty good, but he never looks behind here" I said and Nick nodded. We heard heavy footprints run past the room and we both shut up.

"Guys?" Louis said and opened the door. I covered Nicks mouth so he would stop breathing so heavily. There was some shuffling, and then I heard the door close again. I looked over at Nick and uncovered his mouth.

"That was close" Nick sighed and Louis popped up.

"BOO!!" He yelled and Nick and I screamed. Louis burst out laughing as nick and I took deep breaths.

"Louis!" Nick said and Louis kept laughing.

"Aw come on, the look on your faces!" Louis laughed and I helped Nick up.

"So I guess we help you find the others?" I asked and Louis shrugged.

"Do you know where they are?" Louis asked and Nick and I shook our heads. "Than yes, you help me" he said and we followed him out into the hall. We quickly found Liam and Niall hiding in the bathroom but Harry and Nicole were hard to find.

"Alright, we can't find them together so everyone split up" Liam instructed and we all nodded. I walked down the hall and heard some whispering. I picked up the soft noise and followed it to th hall closet. I swiftly opened it, but there was only coats hanging and some boxes.

"Hmm" I pondered, and just as I was about to close the door, a hand shot out and pulled me in the closet. The door shut and I screamed.

"Sh shh!" the person shushed me, and I knew that Nicole and Harry were in here.

"Nicole, Harry, we've been looking everywhere for you" I whispered and Harry spoke.

"Figured" he chuckled and Nicole giggled.

"I didn't see you when I opened the door" I said.

"That's because we buried coats on us and hid in between the boxes" Nicole explained.

"Clever" I nodded, but knees that they couldn't see me nodding in the darkness. Suddenly, the door opened and Liam shouted.

"Zayn? Louis I found them!" He announced and Louis came up behind Liam.

"Zayn, so I see you were in cahoots with them" Louis said and I shook my head.

"No way man" I said and Louis just shook his head.

"Sure.." he said and Liam helped us up. The rest of the afternoon consisted of just watching movies and acting just plain goofy.

"Bye" I said, giving Nick and Nicole hugs.

"Bye Zayn, we'll see ya later" Nick said and they both got in the car with Louis, who was going to drop them back off.

"Should we invite them over again tomorrow?" Niall asked, watching Louis drive away with Nicole and Nick. I smiled and thought of all the fun we had today.

"Definitely" I replied and shut the door.
