Too Many Secrets
Chapter 20
"Does my arse look good in this dress?" I ask.
"Amazing," Colbie commented looking at me as I admired myself in the mirror.
I wore simple black heels with my dress. I had suggested that we all go to a club after my "incident".
All the guys were going and so was Channing, Colbie, Charlotte, and Sage.
"You look good, too, Colbie," I complimented.
Her greenish blue dress was a favorite of hers.
She also wore a borrowed pair of black heels. We walked down the stairs easily. Channing and Charlotte were already waiting with Sage who decided on wearing a shiny, grey tank top and jeans. You could tell dresses weren't really her thing.
Finally a knock on the door sounded just before an awkward silence was threatening to overcome us. I walked to the door and saw the guys all dressed up.
We took two separate cars and I decided to ride with Harry, Charlotte, Louis and Niall. Channing kissed my cheek gingerly and mumbled a quiet "I love you."
"I have no idea why I agreed to come with you guys," Charlotte looked at Harry and then back at me.
"It'll be fun! Lighten up!" I applied a shade of pink lipstick carefully.
"I hate going out! You know that, baby," she cooed to Harry.
He forced a smile at the pet name. Niall stuck his hand in his mouth with his tongue hanging out as a gagging motion which Louis mocked. I stifled a giggle at them.
Harry reached over to grab Charlotte's hand and I let out a hard breath of air while twisting the cap back on my lipstick container. I couldn't deny it any longer.
The jealousy was eating me alive. And I needed to do something about it.
We arrived at the club and walked into the line. For some reason, Sage walked to the front of the line, cutting everyone. She gave the bouncer a handshake that signified they knew each other. They shared a few words before he opened the door letting her in. She waved back at s and we walked up with her.
"How did you do that?" Liam asked.
"The bouncer's my cousin," she shrugged it off.
The first thing we did is order shots of tequila. Liam was hesitant, but took one anyway. We licked a handful of salt, threw our heads back and gulped the clear liquid, and bit into the sour lime that intensified the experience.
We all had the same twisted faces from the burning but got over with a shake of the head. I, for one, stayed and drank myself to a half drunken state before going to go dance. Me and Channing grinded roughly with each other; he did it for the pleasure, I did it to take my mind off of Harry.
I finally walked away from him. He tried to make me stay and bit my ear lobe harshly to change my mind. I stepped on his shoe which caused him to step back and let me go. I ran as fast as I could but almost fell a few times.
I ran into a stiff body but the person caught me. Their face was clouded and I couldn't make out any recognizable features.
"You okay, babe?" It was just Harry.
"I'm fine. Just a little lost."
"Your sister ditched me for this guy. Apparently he was our waiter on a previous date," Harry explained.
"Didn't think she had it in her," I told him. I honestly couldn't believe Charlotte would do something.
But just as fast, the alcohol started to claim more of my system functions.
"You're so pretty, Harry. Like... Winnie the Pooh!" I clapped my hands in excitement.
His face showed momentary concern, but I continued.
"Charlotte is so mean to me," I stomped my foot like a child.
Harry held me steady so I wouldn't fall.
"How is she mean?"
"She won't let me have you. All of you. I want you so bad, Harry. I want us to get married and have children. Then get a dog and name her Angel! I always wanted a dog but my mom said-" Harry interrupted me.
"What are you talking about?" He asked curiously.
"You don't miss me? You don't like me anymore do you" I asked, feeling tears in the outer corners of my eyes.
Harry shook his head quickly, scared I would burst into tears.
"No, of course I still like you. But marriage and kids and dogs isn't going to happen," he told me slowly so my tipsy mind could understand each syllable.
"But I want a pretty Pomeranian," I whined to him. I closed my arms around his waist.
He carefully mimicked the gesture around my shoulders.
I turned my head around so I wasn't looking at the busy bar and toward the very left of the room. I finally let the tears fall. I almost went over and did something about it, but I stopped myself. I had Harry and he would keep me completely safe.
Sage and Channing messily dancing didn't make me even think about letting go.
It just made me hold on tighter.
