Chapter 2
*Harry
Three days. It's been three days since I last saw her. Three days since I got see how much she changed. Three days since I've seen how she was happy without me. And that thought hurt more than anything in the world.
I had left the flat awhile ago trying to think about my whole life and what I have been doing. I even thought about her and what I had done. I envied my best mates cause they all have that one special person by their side. Louis is happily dating his girlfriend Eleanor Calder who was basically the girl version of him. Zayn was also joint with the lovely soon-to-be Mrs.Perrie Edwards. They were planning on getting married next year after the tour is over. Liam was still going strong with the lovely Danielle Peazer. Even Niall had met a girl about a year ago, Dianne Richards, who was one of the sweetest girls I had known.
I was cut out of my thoughts when I came across a park which consisted of about two kids and a girl about my age on a bench. As I turned around, I had done a double take as the girl coincedently lifter her eyes from the book she was reading and met eyes with me. Her eyes grew wide as I turned back and walk towards her.
"Uh Hey Sammy" "Hi Harry" Her smile was uncertain as if she was uncomfortable. Which I knew she was.
"It's been so long" I mentioned casually.
"Yea" she replied.
As time went pass by with awkward tension in the air she finally spoke.
"What do you want,Harry?"
I tried not to show hiw much that hurt and replied with "Nothing. I just want to catch up with you."
"No offense, Harry but we're not friends. We never were. You're just an ex from the past and I want to keep it there. You don't know what I had been through ever since the break up happened and now I am happy with my life. I have someone who loves me just as much as I do, him and he's been there more for me the past 2 and a half years than you had for the 8 years we've known each other. So, please tell me what you want?"
Her words felt like a slap in the face.
"I-I"m sorry Sammy. I'm sorry that I hurt you. I'm sorry for everything and I wish I could take it back."
"But that's it Harry. You can't."
"YOU DON'T THINK I KNOW THAT. EVERYDAY FOR THE PAST THREE YEARS I HAD TO WAKE UP WITH A REMINDER WHY YOU WERE NOT THERE LAYING NEXT TO ME. JUST TO REMIND MYSELF ANOTHER DAY WITHOUT YOU. AND NOW I HAVE TO WATCH YOU WITH A GUY YOU ARE DATING NOW. AND IT SUCKS BECAUSE I KNOW IT WAS ALL MY FAULT. All my fault." I ended with a whisper facing the heartbreaking truth once again.
I sighed "And I know you won't take me back, but can we atleast be friends."
" I don't know, Harry. I went through alot and I barely got my life back on track. And your fans don't hate on me as much once they found out how you were able to find someone better without a second thought."
My heart broke with her words knowing she thought that throughout the years.
"I swear Sammy it was only you that I love. And I know you don't believe me, but please we'll only be friends"
"Just friends?"
Even though it was hard to say, it was the only way I could have her in my life. "Yea just- just friends"
"Ok then." "Really?" "Yea I mean why not? Strictly friends."
I smiled so hard, but it faltered as I remembered she still had a boyfriend, but I was still grateful to have her close. Even if it was just being friends. But then a sudden thought came to me.
"Hey Sammy?" "Yea?"
"What did you mean when you said I didn't know what you had been through?"
