When Will It Stop?
My name is Adelaide Blake, I'm 19 years old, and I live with my best-friend Alli Brookes in LA. We live in a classy apartment on the 22nd floor. Life has been pretty good ever since we packed up that moving truck and drove here from New York City. Yes, I know that is a long drive, but it was worth it... and I'm about to tell you why.
*badumdum* I looked down at my phone and noticed I got a text-Nolan <3: Hey Adelaide meet me here in 10 minutes, OK? The address is 22 Broadway Street.I smiled after reading the text and then I got ready... I put on some blue jeans, a grey v nek, and some cute sandals. I did my makeup then brushed my hair. I glanced over at the clock and realized I only had 5 minutes to get there and it was at least a 15 minute drive. I had no time to tell Alli where I was going so I sprinted out the door, got in my car, and took off! With the typical New York traffic, I had to park a block away and walk the rest of the way. When I finally got there I found an angry Nolan with a sly smirk on his face. "Right this way" he said with a grin. I followed him as he led me to a dead-ended ally. "Why are we here?" I asked nervously. "I want an explanation." I gave him a confused look. "What?" "Did I stutter? I said I want an explanation!" "Uhm... no you didn't stutter, but I don't what you want an explanation for." " You are fucking 20 minutes late. Now you know, so explain... NOW!" "You know New York traffic... and I had to park a block away." "That's no excuse, you think I'm going to put up with your pretty little problems anymore?" "I'm sorry you don't like that I was late... but you don't have to yell at me." "I am sick and tired of your attitude!" and with that he punched me in the face then pushed me to the ground. I was lying there for a good 30 minutes. I finally got up walked, no ran, to my car with tears rushing down my face. He had never done anything like that before. I was so overwhelmed with sadness. By the time I got back to the house I looked like a raccoon... I had to clean up before I went in because Alli would ask what happened. So I grabbed a wet-one and rubbed it under my eyes until all the makeup was gone. When I walked in I found a note from Alli: Adelaide-- I have went to sleep. Kisses, love you girl!Reading that note made me smile. After I ate a cup of Greek yogurt, I washed up, and went to bed.
I woke up with a huge bruise on my face. I drenched my face in foundation, then headed out to the living room.
Nolan began to hit me daily for about two months. It finally got so bad that foundation wouldn't cover the bruises... so I had no choice but to tell Ali.
And that's when we decided to move to LA.
