Even When the Night Changes

What a disastrous turn this evening has taken. Niall calls his friend Rebecca, she is always there for him.
“Well she left after I spilled juice all over her white dress.” Niall says.
“Accidents happen, why did she get so mad?” Rebecca asks.
“She just sat there when my arm caught on fire.” Niall says but Rebecca cuts him off.
“Wait, what? Are you ok? I’m coming over.”
Niall hears a knock at the door. He lets Rebecca in and he explains to her what happened. She insists he take off his sweater so she can check his arm. It seems ok, maybe a little less hair.
“I hate to remind you, but I did tell you that girl was bad news.” Rebecca says.
“I know. I should have listened to you. Thanks for coming over to check on me. You always treat me so well.”
Rebecca just smiles. Niall looks at her for a moment and realizes he’s seeing her differently. He’s always thought Rebecca was pretty and they’ve been great friends, but he’s thinking that maybe he’s finally come to his senses. Just maybe this girl is the perfect one for him.
“Niall are you ok?” Rebecca asks. Niall snaps out of it. “Yes, I’m fine.” Niall replies, then adds. “How about you hang out with me here for the rest of the evening? I think there’s a game on.”
“Sure Niall, I’d love that.” Rebecca says excitedly.
Rebecca turns the baseball game on while Niall makes them some tea. When he sits on the couch she notices that he is sitting much closer to her than he normally does. After awhile he even puts his arm around her. At first she’s a little nervous, could Niall finally feel the same way that she’s been feeling, then she relaxes into him.
At the end of the game Niall turns to Rebecca. She notices how nervous he looks. “Rebecca, would you go out with me tomorrow night?”
Rebecca looks a little surprised before she replies. “You mean like a date?”
Niall smiles. “Yes a real date.”
Absolutely, I’d love that!” She replies.
“Great. I’ll pick you up at 6:00.” Niall says.
“I guess I should be going. It’s pretty late.” Rebecca says apprehensively.
“I guess you’re right.” Niall says disappointed. “Let me walk you to your car.”
When they get to Rebecca’s car Niall asks her. “Can I give you a goodnight kiss? Please.”
He looks so adorable how could she resist. “I’d like that. A lot.” Rebecca replies.
They share an incredible first kiss. They look in to each others eyes then Rebecca turns towards her car, but Niall grabs her arm and pulls her back. “Hold on, I’m not finished.” He smiles and kisses her again. They share several passionate kisses, leaving them both weak in the knees.
Niall opens the car door for her. He kisses her on the forehead and says. “I’ll see you tomorrow, Beautiful.”
