Bride to Be

Chapter Three

Kennedy’s POV
The trip to Trocadero was pretty much a flop because by the time Harry and I made it to the arcade, everyone was already there. Harry could tell I was a bit upset about it, so he promised he would make it up to me within the next week. The rest of the week went really great though. Every interview that Harry and I did got easier and everyone was so shocked that I was so down to earth. Apparently there was a rumor going around that I was a huge bitch and I didn’t get along with anyone. I wanted to ask everyone who told them that but Harry suggested that I just brush it off. Today was Sunday and I was grateful for that. It was my day off and Harry and I were going to spend the day just hanging out in the flat and not doing anything with interviews, wedding planning, or seeing other people. However that wasn’t happening. Around noon Harry got a call from Tom saying that he wanted to go get drinks and Harry agreed immediately. Granted I knew that Harry and Tom didn’t get to hang out a whole lot but today I just wanted to spend the day with him before I actually went back to work. I may not have been planning weddings anymore because of what I needed to keep intact in the office so I didn’t get to see Harry as much as I wanted because I was dealing with complaints about stupid things in my mind’s eye.

“I’ll be back within an hour love,” Harry said, “Promise.”

“Alright,” I said quietly, “Don’t do anything too stupid and tell Tom I want to see Lux soon.”

“I will,” he said and then kissed me and rushed out the door.

As soon as the door to the flat closed, I sighed to myself a bit upset that Harry completely forgot our promise to each other. I pushed myself off of the couch and decided to actually maybe start planning some of the wedding, or just start looking at magazines to give me some ideas for my own wedding. I don’t know how long I just sat at the kitchen table but I had four or five different magazines marked with something I liked when I looked up at the clock to see it was five in the afternoon. I frowned and looked at my cell phone to see nothing from Harry so I decided to call Lou to see if she had heard anything from Tom. I pressed the phone to my ear and waited for Lou to answer. After the third ring, she picked up and I could hear Lux crying.

“Hey Kenni,” I heard her voice a bit stressed out, “What can I help you with?”

“Want me to come over?” I asked, “You sound a bit stressed.”

“Yes,” she said in relief, “Tom left hours ago and hasn’t come back and Lux is just being horrible and I can’t get her to sleep.”

“I’ll be right there,” I said, “Give me ten minutes.”

I then stood up and grabbed my set of keys. I rushed down the stairs and to my car and over to Tom’s and Lou’s. I rushed up to flat and knocked on the door. Two seconds later the door opened and I could see a really tired Lou and hear a screaming Lux in the living room.

“May I try?” I asked and she nodded her head.

I walked into the living room and saw her throwing her toys around screaming at the top of her lungs.

“What are you doing Lux?” I asked and the screaming stopped and she turned around to see me.

She grinned widely and ran towards me.

“Are you being a bad girl for Mummy?” I asked and she looked down at the ground guiltily, “Come on Lux. Let’s get you into bed.”

She then started thrashing around in my arms because she didn’t want to sleep.

“Lux,” I said, “If you go to sleep Daddy might come home soon.”

She then immediately stopped thrashing. I walked her to her room and laid her in the crib, turned on the baby monitor, and made sure nothing could harm her and then walked out of the room. I then walked out of the room and into the living room to find Lou cleaning up the mess that Lux made.

“You have to open a new business as a baby whisper,” Lou said, “I don’t know how you did and I really don’t want to know so I can just be amazed all the time.”

I laughed slightly and helped Lou finish up cleaning up the mess. Once we were done, we walked into the kitchen and poured ourselves a glass of wine and we walked back into the living room and just talked and caught up. Soon our talk turned towards the wedding.

“So have you guys talked about any details or is Harry letting you loose?” she giggled slightly.

“He’s not letting me completely loose,” I laughed with her, “He wants to be a part of the decision making which I find quiet adorable.”

“Me too,” she laughed, “Tom is the same way. He even wants to be there when I pick out the wedding dress but I told him couldn’t.”

“I told Harry the same thing,” I said and we both laughed.

We continued talking about wedding ideas when both of our phones started ringing. I saw Louis’ face pop up on my screen and Liam’s popped up on Lou’s. We both looked at each other worriedly and we answered our phones.

“What’s wrong Louis?” I asked walking into the kitchen.

“Well you know how Harry and Tom went to go get drinks?” he asked.

“Yeah,” I said.

“Well they got into a bar fight and are currently in jail,” Louis said, “Harry and Tom called me and Liam because they didn’t want to worry you and Lou.”

“Well that makes me feel ten times better,” I sighed, “I’ll be right down. How much is the bail?”

“Four hundred,” he said and I sighed.

“Good thing I brought the checkbook,” I sighed, “I’ll be down to bail him and Tom out.”

“Okay,” he said and I walked out of the kitchen to see Lou with her head in her hands.

“Are you coming to bail them out with me?” I asked.

“We’ll go in two cars,” Lou said, “Let’s go get Lux ready.”

After fifteen minutes of getting Lux ready we made our way to the police station. We got there in two separate cars and we walked in and saw Louis and Liam sitting on benches waiting for us.

“Do the paps know?” I asked and Louis and Liam nodded their heads no.

“Management but the rumors to rest,” Liam said.

I nodded my head.

“Can you guys go get Harry’s car?” I asked, “Or did you. . .”

“No we came in one car,” Liam said, “I have a spare to Harry’s car. We’ll take it back to the flat for you guys.”

“Thanks Liam and Louis,” I said, “Thanks for letting us know. We really appreciate it.”

“We really do,” Lou said and they smiled and nodded their heads.

We then went to go bail them out. When the boys came out they each had a small smile on their face but it dropped when they saw me and Lou.

“I don’t want an excuse,” I said, “Liam and Louis went to get your car.”

I then spun around with Lou who was just shaking her head and they followed us out of the station. I was thankful that there weren’t paps anywhere so it was easy to get to my car. I told Lou goodbye and kissed Lux’s cheek and shook my head at Tom. I then walked to my car where Harry was nervously standing. I unlocked my car and got in the driver’s side. I pulled out of the parking lot and started on the way back to the flat.

“How mad are you at me?” Harry asked.

I just looked at him and turned my attention the road. I don’t know if the silence gave him the hint but he looked down at his hands.

“Do you remember what you promised me today?” I asked.

“That we would spend all day together,” he mumbled.

“Yes and I was okay with you going to hang out with Tom because you guys don’t see each other as much as you both used to but you said an hour Harry. One hour. You were gone for five without an update. Then you go and get in a bar fight! You could’ve gotten seriously injured Harry!” I exclaimed as we pulled into the flat parking lot.

“Well I didn’t,” he said.

“Yeah you just needed stitches above your eye and you have a nice bruise on your left cheek,” I snapped and he just got out of the car and marched his way towards the flat.

I sighed to myself and put my head on the steering wheel. Things were going great but we always found something petty to fight over. I waited a few more minutes before I made my way up to our flat. When I walked in I was in shock to see what Harry was doing. He was shoving clothes into a bag and mumbling angrily to himself.

“What are you doing?” I asked nervously.

“Getting out of here,” he said angrily, “Since I’m so irresponsible. I’m going to stay and Lou’s flat for a couple days. Maybe longer.”

“Harry,” I started not wanting a repeat of what happened last time.

“No,” he said looking up at me, “You made it pretty clear.”

He then shoved past me and I heard the flat door slam shut and I just stood there shocked and slowly feeling a pain in my chest. This could not be happening again.
