The Lucky Gal

Daises, Smokes and a New Job

"You need to make this stop." I told Harry as I let him in the front door. slamming the door behind him in frustration before following harry up to my bedroom, pulling my tank top down a bit further on my hips.

"It's his way of apologizing. He genuinely feels bad!" Harry said turning to face me for a moment before entering my bedroom.

"Sending me a dozen flowers every day for a month will not make me less angry with him." I told Harry as I through myself on the couch and flicking in the TV. Harry took a seat next to me and pulls his body next to mine. It was true, Liam had got my address from Harry was sending me a dozen flowers every day since I has last seen him a month ago. They were not just any flowers though they were daisy, somehow he remembered they were my favorite. The house now looked like a garden with daisies anywhere we could put them because Louis believed "it would be a waist to though out such beautiful flowers". The flowers though just made me madder with Liam. He took the time to send me flowers and Harry told me was "giving me space" by staying away from the club. I should be happy he is trying to make things better, hell I've been waiting for this moment for years. But I was pissed not happy.

This month had made Harry and I closer though. He was being the barrier between Liam and I a he took his role seriously. He called me everyday to make sure I was ok and tried to get me to talk about the situation, although that dident work well. Harry and I were complete opposites. Despite his bad boy demeanor and all his tattoos, he was a very kind and open person. I on the other hand was not. I don't like talking about my feeling or showing emotion, I never have. I have walls up at all times and it frustrated Harry that I won't talk to him about it. “He said the only way he will stop sending them is if you will see him." Harry whispered a wile later, barely herd above the TV. I understood why he was hesitant in telling me, knowing that I would get upset of he brought it up.

"Fine let him come around the club tonight. If he wants to see me that bad." I replyed before I sluggishly pulled myself of he couch. "I need to get ready for work so I'll see you tonight." I said before dissipating into the bathroom, knowing Harry would let himself out.

The club was empty as I looked over the new schedule. "Another day was cut." I growled in frustration. In the past month I had been in London, The Lucky Gal had cut the days it was open in half due to the lack of customers. "Now I can only work Fridays and Saturdays." I growled in annoyance. I needed to be able to work, I had no money and so many bills to pay. Zayn leaned onto the counter in front of me, using his elbows to hold his weight. His turned his head to check that Louis was still in the back before he turned back to me.

"You know the offer for a side job still stands." He whispered, his face soft with concerned. Zayn knew I needed the money, he understood that I dident want to be dependent on Jordan’s money although he and Lou made it clear that they wanted me to. But Zayn understood that I dident want that, that I wanted to be able to be independent.

"I don't know if that is something I want to get into Zayn." I told him timidly.

"Alice, I won't let anything happen to you. I promise. Some of the dancers here do it for some side money, just ask a few of them how the feel about it. The job is always you if you want it." He whispered before Louis walked back to the bar, quieting quickly know Louis would be angry if he knew Zayn was offering me such a job.

--------------

The door opened and the regular group of men walked in and went quickly to there table, most of the men waving or saying some kind if greeting to me and the bartenders. Liam lagged back behind the group. Head slightly bowed as he silently walked to the table. Zayn pushed the tray full of drinks to me before I walked over to the table. I was placing the drinks on the table when a arm made it's way around my waist, pulling my body next to theirs. I looked down and giggled as an, obviously already drunk, Niall snuggled his head into my side.

"I'm having a party Friday! You should come!" The purple haired boy told me excitedly.

"No." Liam’s voice broke in sharply; all eyes at the table turned to him and then back to me. My eyes raked he'd over his face, but it stated emotionless.

"Of course I'll come Niall. I would love to, it sounds fun." I said in a happy voice, not taking my eyes off of Liam’s before I walked away.

Digging in the pocket of the light blue high wasted shorts for the lighter I had swiped from Zayn. Bringing the cigarette between my lips I lit the end and took a deep breath, holding the smoke before slowly letting it out. The back door opened as someone stepped out next to me, silently rummaging through there pockets.

"Do you have a light" he mumbles. Silently I pulled out the lighter and handed it to him, not even bothering to glance at him. Placing it back in my palm I could see him take a puff from the corner I my eye before he spoke up.

"You got taller." He whispered.

"Well it has been like 4 years since you last saw me." I growled back at him. We stood quietly for a while longer until I finished my smoke and stomped out the bud with the toe of my high heals. Turning I stepped around his body, still making no effort to look at him before making my way up the steps to the door.

"Will you please just look at me." His voice cracked as I reached for the door knob. My eyes clenched shut and my bottom lip quivered as I listened to his voice.

"What do you mean your moving?" I whispered in disbelief as I sat on my brother’s bed, watching him stuff everything he owned into suitcases. I looked down at my trembling hands, trying to keep myself together.

“I got a job offer there at a really good company. It will only be for about 6 month, and I promises we will talk every day. It’s not that big of a deal Ali!” he laughed at how I was reacting.

“What about mom?” I asked as I watched him continue to place all belongings into the red rolling bag.

“Its only for a few months, you can tack care of her! And I will send money every month to help out. Everything will be fine Ali, I promise.” Liam assured me before placing a small kiss onto my forehead and continuing his packing.

“Ali, please.” Liam begged, pulling me out of my memory. My body spun around to face my brother, our eyes meeting, his soft eyes meeting my harsh glare.

“Don’t you dare call me that! You have not right to call me that.” I snarled at him. My had grasping the cold metal handle of the door, pulling it open swiftly. “And stop sending me the damn flowers.”

I walked back to the floor of the club, walking past Harry and his gaze as I headed back to the bar. The memory of Liam and I remained me of the responsibilities I still had with my mother. I needed money and just this job was not going to cover it with the hour cuts. Zayn watched me carefully as I walked up to him, keeping my eye on Louis as he stood on the end of the bar talking to a customer.

“Ill take the job.” I told him, my voice low.

“Are you sure?” he asked tentatively. I gave him a small nod in response. “We can have a meeting with the man in charge on tomorrow. I can pick you up in the morning then we can take the train up to Brighten to meet with him”
