Chapter 6

Chapter 6
Louis POV
If it wasn’t for Zayn and Dani this morning, I wouldn’t have woken up. I swear those two can’t keep their hands off each other. It’s a good thing I’m awake though because Lauren texted me back. Ever since I saw her that day I haven’t been able to stop thinking about her. It’s making me sick actually because I’ve never felt this way and it feels really strange. “I’m free tomorrow, whatever you want to do. I’ve never been to Cali so you should show me around(;” I imagined a smirk spread across her face as she typed that message. I get up out of bed and put on my usual outfit; jeans, a dark red shirt and some vans. In the bathroom I brush my teeth and I normally don’t bother with my hair so I just ruffle it up a bit. I grab my keys off my nightstand and dial Lauren’s number. Three rings and she answers, “hello?” Her voice sounds groggy almost as if she just woke up, I imagine she looks beautiful though.
“Did I wake you up love?”
“Yeah but it’s okay, what’s going on?” She sounds so casual, it’s almost sexy. God.
“I saw your text this morning, I’m to go to your hotel. I have decided to take you up on your offer. I’m going to show you California!” I said making the last part more dramatic. I hear her laugh on the other end, “Wow I am honored. I’ll text you what hotel I’m staying at.”
“Alright love see you soon.” I hang up the phone and wait for her to text me. I decided to go to the kitchen and maybe get some coffee, when I do I see Liam sitting at the counter.
“Those two cant stay away from each other can they?” He says referring to Zayn and Dani. You can hear them giggling in their room and it’s quite disgusting.
“They sure are annoying.” I grab a mug and pour myself some coffee.
“So are you going to tell me about that phone call you just had or?” Goddamn.
“Liam you sure are nosy aren’t you. It was Lauren. I’m going to take her out and show her around, it should be nice to hang out with her.” My voice comes out casual even though I’m quite nervous on the inside. It’s very unusual for me because I don’t typically get nervous around girls. I wouldn’t go as far to say that I’m a ladies man but I have no trouble talking to girls. Somehow I feel like with Lauren it’s different, I just cant tell if that’s a good different or not.
“Well have fun mate, I just hope that all goes well with Vanessa when she arrives.”
“Liam don’t bring that up, I don’t want anything to do with that bitch. I’m not seeing her and she’s not coming over here.” Liam has to bring this shit up right before I see Lauren, I can’t believe him.
“Sorry Lou, I’m just concerned for you. I’m only trying to look out for my best mate. The least you could do is be appreciative.” He scoffs and walks off to his room. Every time, I manage to piss everyone off, every time. I check my phone to see if Lauren texted me and sure enough she did. My coffee cup goes into the sink; I didn’t even drink a sip.

Lauren’s POV
Getting ready for dates have never really been easy for me. I always feel like I’m under pressure to look a certain way or to please the person. Since I was on vacation and I didn’t bring my whole closet I decided to just wear my cut off shorts and gray and white shirt. For shoes I put on my white keds and I just wore my hair naturally.
“Are you almost done? He’s going to be here soon!” Monique yelled into the bedroom.
“Yeah I’m done, how do I look guys? I just went for a pretty basic outfit.” As I look up all my friends are gawking at me. “What? Do I look bad?” I ask nervously.
“No you look great! You’re outfit is so casual but damn girl.” Kristabel said walking towards me patting me on the back. Everyone else agreed and just kept staring at me, it was quite ridiculous.
“Alright guys, c’mon I don’t look that special. Plus you guys are being weird.” I said laughing while getting something quick to eat. I grabbed an apple because I noticed we haven’t gone shopping for food yet. “Hey we need to get some food or we are all going to starve here.” I said turning to my friends.
“Alright mom, we’ll go while you are out today.” Ariel said teasingly and they all laughed. Before I could reply with a quirky comment my phone starting ringing.
“Shit.” I murmured.
“Hello.” I said
“Hi babe, I’m in the lobby. Come down whenever you’re ready. But don’t leave me waiting forever though.” I heard a deep chuckle and almost melted.
“Alright, I’ll be down in few, see ya.” He didn’t say anything just hung up but somehow I felt like he was smiling.
I put the apple back; I didn’t even take a bite. I grabbed my small purse and said bye to my friends as they continued to tease me. I made my way to the lobby and searched for Louis, he was standing by the door with one hand in his pocket and the other holding his phone. His brows were pushed together as he looked down to his phone, probably just going through instagram. I’m sure I look like that too when I get on.
I made my way towards him trying to hide the smirk on my face. “Hi” I said softly not wanting to alarm him. He looked up from his phone his icy blue eyes meeting mine. My heart has never beat so fast, I swear he was such a precious human being.
“Hi there. Are you ready to go?” I could see a smirk on his lips but he was trying so hard to conceal it. I nodded my head and we walked out to his car.
“So what do you want to do first?”
“I’m actually pretty hungry. I didn’t eat breakfast.” I chuckled.
“Good answer, I didn’t eat either. I know the perfect place.” He took his eyes off the road for a second to flash a breathtaking smile at me.

Surprisingly the conversation flowed, I was taken aback by how comfortable I was with Louis. We arrived at the restaurant and it wasn’t like something you’d expect to see in California. It was very small and cottage like, I was in love with it and I hadn’t even stepped inside yet.
“Louis what is this place? It’s so cute.” I said as we got out the car.
“I figured you would like it. They have the best breakfast food. You’re going to love it.”
I already do.
We got inside and found a table kinda secluded. There weren’t too many people here, which was really nice. Within seconds a tall young man came over to hand us menus.
“I usually get the banana pancakes with the eggs on the side. I think that’s the best thing they have.” Louis said looking up me. Everything looked very appetizing but I decided to go with what Louis suggested. I’m kinda skeptical about trying new things.
Our food finally came and I couldn’t help but dig in, I was starved.
“Whoa slow down there tiger.” Louis chuckled and stared at me as if I was insane.
“S-sorry, I’m just really hungry.” I laughed nervously and blushed a bit. Great job Lauren. You look like a crazed woman who’s never eaten before. You’re scaring the poor boy.
“It’s okay babe, I was just teasing. The food here is amazing so I don’t blame you.” I smiled at him and opened my mouth to say something but he beat me to it.
“So much longer are you going to be here for?” Taking another bite of his food after he asked.
“I’m here for a month but I might stay longer. I’ve only been here three days but I can really get used to living here.” His eyes lit up when I said I was going to be here a month.
“Well I hope you decide to stay, California is such a beautiful place. I can’t wait to show you around.”
“Speaking of, where are you going to take me? I’m actually so excited.” A huge grin on his face and I knew he wasn’t going to tell me.
“It’s a surprise love, you’ll have to wait and see.” The way he said love made me smile. “Now finish you’re breakfast so we get going.” I looked down to my plate then at his and realized he was finished. Shit how did he finish so fast? I forgot about looking like a savage and just scarfed down the rest of my pancakes. You could say that I was very eager to start this day!
