Never Alone (Harry Styles Fiction)

Chapter 24

"Are you sure you don't want me to drive you to the airport instead?” said Sissy as she and Adri helped me carry my stuff out to a taxi. This wasn't goodbye, so I didn't want to make this a big deal.

"Thank you, both of you, but I'll be fine. Take care of yourself and don't do anything stupid while I'm gone!" I laughed as I gave them a quick hug and got in the taxi.

"No promises," Adri smiled and as the taxi began to drive away they waved at me and I waved back. I stuck my hand in back in the car and plugged in my earphones. London, here I come.

Harry's POV

I woke up with the shine of the sun hitting against my face. I looked around my surroundings to realize I wasn't in my dorm room. I got up from the floor I had passed out from last night and saw Ashton tangled up with that mysterious date of his in the bottom bunk. I rubbed my eyes and noticed a bookshelf until I knew this was Summer's room.

"You're up early." I turned around to see her holding a tray with four solo white cups filled with coffee and the other half tea.

"Well, you know what they say, the early bird gets the worm." She smiled and handed me one of the cups filled with tea.

"Oh my god, are those idiots still sleeping?" I nodded my head and she shook her head annoyingly.

"I guess we'll have to wake them up," she said as she set the tray down on her desk and I walked over to shake Ashton awake.

"No wait! Not like that, I have an idea," And with that I was fascinated. I opened the door from the room quietly and tip toed over to the buildings cafeteria where I found a glass bowl and quietly ran back over the room and locked the door behind me as instructed. Summer grabbed a water bottle from her mini refrigerator and poured all the water into the bowl. I then walked over to the bathroom and hid in the shower making sure everything was pitch dark.

"Ok ready," I whispered as she grabbed Ashton's hand and placed it into the glass bowl filled with water. If this idea was accurately full proof as Summer stated, then he would have the urge to use the restroom in matter of seconds. After a while of silence, I thought we had failed so I stepped out of the shower until I heard the bottom bunk squeak and someone mumbling something. I stepped back into the shower quickly as I heard the footsteps come closer and once it stopped I saw the bathroom lights flash on and that was my cue. I jumped out of the shower and saw Ashton yell and run into the room.

"What the actual fuck was that!" Yelled Ashton, looking once sleepy but now full awake.

"Oh my god, no way! What did I tell you Harry? Full proof!" Summer squealed as she got up from behind her desk.

"Fuck you guys, I literally pissed my bottoms!" he said as he covered his crotch embarrassedly.

"Credits to this guy," I saw Summer holding up her coffee and smiling. "To Harry, and his best year yet."
"To myself." I thought to myself and smiled.

As we were all finally awake and chatting we all turned to the mysterious girl who had an idea. "We should all play truth or dare." she smiled and we all nodded in agreement. We sat in a circle next to the bed bunk and placed Annie's, (mysterious girl's name) phone in the middle of our circle and pressed the shuffle button to start the game. Everyone looked at the phone intently waiting for a name to glow up in the screen. Suddenly, Ashton's name popped up and Summer let out a loud chuckle.

"Ok, Ash, what will it be… Truth or dare?"

"Um, truth, I don't trust you."

"Good choice," she smiled. "Is it true that you're physically attracted to Annie?" We all stared at him to answer as I peeked over to Annie, who seemed to be blushing at this point.

"Hell yeah, I mean look at her! Gorgeous." He smirked at her and she gave him a quick kiss.

"Ok save that for later, let's shuffle!" And after truths to dares we all ended up getting to know each other better. I found out that Summer was an American from Wisconsin, Ashton moved to London when he was just 5 years old, Annie was an only child and further-more. During the game, I was surprised when I got dared to kiss Summer for 4 seconds, not that I didn't want to but I was intimidated. She laughed and motioned to me tome over, which I did. I looked at her for a second until I leaned it and kissed her. I kissed her softly as what felt more than 4 seconds but It was a good kiss. As she retreated, I blushed and went back to my spot where she smiled at me.

"Hey Harry," I looked at her almost instantly. "I'm into guitarist anyways," and I chuckled to myself, as I knew what she meant.

"Ok Harry, Truth or Dare?" I snapped my eyes back to the group and answered dared once again.

"Ok rock star, I dare you to-" And I nodded my head as they all smiled and I headed out the door.

Lynn's POV

I was more than excited to be on the crowded, smoggy London streets. It was I and a guidebook of the city headed out on an adventure. I pulled my black peat coat down over my empty hand hoping to keep the breeze from causing me to turn back into the hotel for a cup of coffee. (Still have my American roots with me). I looked both ways before rushing across the street toward the River Thames. It was even bigger than I imagined. I watched the closest bridge open for a huge boat. I start to open my guidebook to learn the bridge’s name, but a huge red bus slows down a few feet from me and I decide it must be fate. I rush toward the back of the bus getting on just as it starts to inch forward. The bus is mostly full on the inside most likely because of the wind on top. But even if it were raining fire I would want to sit on top so I hustle up the steps taking a seat at the back. I passed a person wrapped in a white sweatshirt with dark shades and hood hiding their face. I try not to stare as I pass. I take my seat quietly admiring the amazing buildings that passed. Its windy and loud, but it is beautiful. The bus slows down and piles of wide tourists hop on the bus and I know they are going to come up here. They find their way up only as the bus begins to move again. Even though the black figure and I are the only two people up here they choose to sit right in front of the person. The person jumps up as the tourists start to squawk, audible even over the wind and traffic. I take notice of the dark figure’s shape and see his dark yet somewhat curly hair, when his hood falls from his head and I decide he was a boy. He hustles to the row just in front of mine trying to avoid everyone and puts his hood back on. Just than the Eye becomes visible and I gasp slightly.

“What?” The boy turns around at me. “Why did you gasp?”

“Sorry!” I say. “I was just taken by the sight of The Eye.”

“Oh yeah… yeah, lovely sight.” He slumps back into his seat and I shoot him a look even though he is no longer facing me feeling my heart thump.

“Everything in London here is a lovely sight. Wow,” I mutter and he looks back at me.

“So are you from the Northern part of America then? I heard everyone down there are very mean," he shoots back.

“Yeah I am and I guess you're a spoiled, stuck up rich kid who dresses all fancy and talks very classy." I confidently said raising my eyebrow and smirking.

He smiled and let out a chuckle. "Haha point proven, sorry. Hi,” he says and sticks his hand out to me. “I’m- Uhh… Alex.” I take his hand and shake it.
“Lynn,” I say quickly taking my hand back from his.
“I like you Lynn,” he re arranges his hood and his shades and shows a great smile.

“How long are you in London for?” he asks.

“I have a few days, maybe a week, I'm actually here to visit someone.” I say.

“Well, you can see the classic tourist sites tomorrow with that person. But today I’ll show you the real inspiring places around here,” he says standing up as the bus starts to slow down. He stands from his seat and runs down the stairs then looks back at me. “Coming?” For whatever reason, I followed him. I knew my guidebook could only make so much adventure so I left the book behind and chased after this stranger. We took buses and streets all the way, talking about the differences between his home and mine. My heart starts to liquefy again. We walk quickly down one Last Street and then a huge sign comes into view, “Richmond Park.”

“We are going to a park?” I look sideways at him as we enter a beautiful green space. It was pretty, sure, but I’d seen parks before.
“You may have been to parks before, but none like this one,” he smiles and I feel my heart skip a beat. He took my hand and we started to run down the little paved path.
“Alex!” I laugh slightly as he looks back at me excited. “Slow down!” He does as I say, then gently wraps my arm around his.

“This is how you do it in England,” he smirks at me and I shake my head smiling.

“Well I wouldn’t want to look like a tourist. I want to be a real Englander or whatever you idiots call yourselves,” I say happily.

“Wow, I was right, you Americans are mean." he smiled as I playfully punched his arm.

"I don’t think you could ever fit in. You naturally draw people’s attention,” he says looking ahead of us now. I felt my cheeks turn red.

“Why are you wearing those sunglasses? It’s overcast and dark,” I ask reaching up to his shades.

“Wait!” he says jerking his head away from my hand as he points out in front of us. “Look!” I turn toward what he is pointing at looking over a sea of deer.

“Whoa! What!” I yell over him as we slow to a stop watching hundreds of deer move along a lake’s edge. I look up at him and he smiles at my shocked face.

“That’s why Richmond is the best park,” he laughs slightly.
“That’s incredible! Are they wild?” I ask still in shock.
“Well technically yes, but they are used to people being around,” he says rubbing his neck almost like he is embarrassed. “I really like coming out here and watching these guys." I nod smiling up at him.

“Goal!” someone yells behind us. We turn to see a gaggle of kids between the ages of ten and fifteen kicking around a soccer ball, or I guess here, a futbol.

“Yes!” Alex screams running toward the kids. They all stop and look at us as we approach them. “Can we play too?” he asks like he’s ten himself. They look at each other then smile and nod. I laugh when Alex lets a ten-year-old pass him pretending he is too slow to catch him. He laughs when me and another girl, a few years younger than us, score against him. We yell and cheer and our team does a group hug.

“It’s war now America girl,” he leans close to my ear his warm breath tickling my face.

“Bring it on England boy,” I smirk and his shades fall a little down, revealing familiar shining green eyes. For a moment a flash of recognition washes over me, but it passes as he heads toward me with the ball. He instantly shoots and scores. He cheers and his groups join in while he does a cartwheel making his sunglasses fall from his face.

“How do you like me now?” he yells jumping over to me.

“Settle down,” I say pushing on his chest.

“Oh my God!” the girl I had scored with screams and points at Alex. "Hey Harry! I can't believe it's you! It's been a while… How's Ashton?"

And that's when it hit me. It was he. The boy who was the reason why I came here in the first place, the boy who I had fallen for.

“Here are your glasses, Harry,” one of the girls says running toward him. He bends down and gently takes them from her. He hangs them on his shirt and smiles at the girl.

“Thank you so much,” he says and she grins as she starts to rock back and forth on her heels.

“Harry, can I be on your team now?” she asks very sweetly.

“Me too! Me too!” All the other girls scream.

“Yeah sure,” he replies quietly. His cheeks burn bright red as he stands up. “Get set up again I’ll be right over.” They all nod and run back to their starting positions as he comes over to me. He takes my hands and smiles shyly. “Hey...” he looks uneasily down at me and I felt my cheeks start to flush again.

I drop his hands and take his sunglasses from his collar carefully and place them over his eyes, "Hey, Harry.” I smile at him and turn my head down. “I mean Alex.”

"You're not upset?" He looked at me confused.

"No why would I be?" I questioned and hugged him. I felt his arms wrap around my back and that's when I realized how much I missed his touch. His touch that brought familiar memories and special feelings that made me smile. I retreated from the hug and looked at him. As much as I wanted to stare at him for a long time to makeup the whole year I spent without him, I didn't bother to ask him questions.

"Who's Ashton?" I asked as he smiled and laughed.

"My roommate." He simply said and began to walk side by side on the sidewalk.

"Roommate?" I questioned and he nodded.

"Mhmm, I attend a boarding school and truth is I shouldn't be here. We have rules about leaving campus unattended and if anyone finds out that I left I can get in serious trouble." He chuckled nervously. That explained the hoodie and shades from earlier.

"So why did you leave than?" He smiled and shook his head.

"Stupid dare from my friends," he said and I laughed. I missed him. "Yeah and I'm suppose to pick up some fella who was suppose to be here-" Harry looked down at his watch and mumbled, "15 minutes ago." (Which explained his presence on the bus as well.)

"Really? Is he a friend of yours?" I asked curiously.

"Oh no, I don't know this lad but my roommate has asked for him to come to London. He's a singer and..... Guitarist." He trailed off looking around the park to find this new guy.

"Oh, wow very impressive"

"I figured. You woman always have a thing for artists or instrument players, why is that?" he furrowed his brows in confusion and I giggled.

"Guitarist finger faster," I looked at him and let out a loud laugh as I saw his expression.

"It's a metaphor idiot. The way they can strum on a guitar can tell a lot about their sex life."

"Summer will surely love this Hemming's guy than..." I heard Harry mumble to himself but I didn't quite catch on.

After what seemed forever, I heard Harry yell and pointing in people’s direction.

"Finally! That's him, our guy." Harry said cheerfully and I stopped on my tracks in recognition of the person. Luke Hemming's, oh boy.

This story is one of the most confusing stories ever. With the flashbacks just being italic and then all the dreams. And now it's over, and i don't even know what to think right now. I'm kinda stunned and didn't realize this story was over. I feel like so much more could happen, like its unsolved, all our questions are unanswered. It's really confusing, but still a great book :)
