Never Alone (Harry Styles Fiction)

We all stood there silently for a few seconds intentionally watching Adri's next move.

"Listen idiot, you better stop fucking around with Lynn and actually-" but before she can finish Niall broke the silence and started to laugh, his face turned a light shade of red. Everyone in the lunchroom began to laugh with him and soon enough, everyone’s attention was now focused on us.

"This isn't funny Niall! You really hurt my best friend!" She yelled out of annoyance. Niall stopped laughing for a moment and everything fell silent. I was surprised how quick his expression had changed in seconds. He looked at me with a serious face almost as if he were upset at himself. Maybe he finally realized that he really hurt me, that for once he actually understood his mistakes.

"Wow, I'm so sorry..." he said almost sincere. We all looked at him with wide eyes; did he really just apologize to me? I couldn't tell if he was lying or not but his voice was so calm and convincing I honestly didn't know if he was being honest.

"Are you really Niall?" Spat out Sissy not buying his act.

"Of course not!" He yelled out and started to laugh once again. The whole room filled up with loud roars of laughter as I rolled my eyes at him and walked away feeling stupid. Why would I ever think Niall Horan would apologize to me? Maybe deep down I actually thought that he would finally realize he was being a jerk and he'd actually apologize. That maybe for once that idiot would open up his sweet side. His sweet, caring side of him. I knew Niall wasn't a complete douche, that somewhere in him he had a heart that cared. That heart I saw 2 months ago.

~*FLASHBACK*~

The football team was playing their last game and Niall's mom had given him strict instructions to take care of his little sister, Molly, while she went to the store to grab some snacks. As she left, Niall's friend, Shane McCaw, another douche in this school, came up too Niall and invited him over to a small group of girls Shane had been talking to before the game.

"Sorry I can't, have to take care of my little princess, isn't that right Molly?" Niall said playfully hitting her nose.

"C'mon man, those girls keep insisting they want to meet you." He said dragging him away.

"I already told ya I can't, take Trevor or something." he said not bother looking at his friend.

"Are you being serious right now? You're choosing your little sister over hot chicks man!"

"You don't think I'm serious? I already told ya I can't and don't want to so fuck off and run along." he snapped at his friend who stood there surprised.

"You don't know what you're missing out on buddy." Shane replied as he turned around and left the blonde alone.

"I'm sorry you had to hear that Molly, I love you princess." He said kissing his little sister's cheek.

"What was that all about?" inquired Jake as he walked towards them.

"Shane wanted me to go over and talk to the group of girls he's been hitting on since today but I refused to, he got angry, and I told him to fuck off." He explained in a sentence laughing and tossing a football around with Jake.

"And you refused? Wow is Niall over girls now? " Jake teased as he threw the football.

"Haha I'm not gay! I just didn't want to plus I have to take care of my little sister." he said passing the football to Molly who seemed to be having the best time.

"I see, and I also see Lynn at the bleachers, I'll catch up with you later! Bye Molly!" He said ruffling the little girls hair and waving goodbye to his friend.

~*FLASHBACK OVER*~

I stormed out of the cafeteria and ran as far as I could. As my pace slowed down I stopped to find myself in front of the Performing Arts room. I entered slowly turning on the lights, brightening the whole room. I stepped into the room carefully jumping at the sound of the door closing behind me. I froze and stared at how big this place was, it was huge! There was a huge stage in the center front and around were hundreds of chairs everywhere. Luckily there wasn't anyone around to bother me, I knew Sissy, Adri or Jake didn't bother chasing after me and I'm glad they didn't because I just wanted to be alone right now. As I walked in the middle admiring the area I spotted a copy of 'The Notebook" on the far left corner of the stage. I walked towards the movie and found a projector up above in the ceiling figuring the movie was already in. I sat on one of the chairs and pressed play with the remote control I found on stage. As the movie began to play the lights became dim just like in a movie theater. I was still in shock how I didn't discover this room earlier, it was amazingly huge and quiet and a really good get away. I watched the movie only when I heard someone open and close the door sending echoes through the room.

"Lynn?" called out a familiar British accent. I turned around only to find the same kid I bumped into earlier. He was wearing a dark green beanie his hair perfectly tucked back; grey T-shirt, black skinny jeans and white converse. God he looked hot. He was carrying his books and binder under his right arm as he jogged over to me.

"What do you want?" I groaned feeling upset and annoyed.

"Jake and everyone else told me where you were so I volunteered to come get you... Are you alright?" he asked setting his things down and sitting next to a empty chair next to me.

"Yeah, its just Niall could be-"

"A douche. I know I figured." He said finishing my sentence.

"Exactly! Did he tell you something too?" I inquired annoyed knowing Niall probably said something stupid to him, I couldn't blame him though, Niall always has to criticize someone somehow.

"Actually he didn't but he and Jake did give me a tour around the school and by the way he talked to other people I could conclude he wasn't the nicest guy." He said resting his elbows on his thighs and looking at me.

"He's a dick." I rolled my eyes at the thought of Niall.

"Haha, you must hate him." he smiled showing off his dimples. He was so adorable, everything about him made me want to melt in his arms.

"The only reason I put up with him is because of Jake, besides that I could care less about him." I sighed.

"Oh, you and Jake are dating?" he said clearing his throat feeling a bit awkward asking.

"I don't know... I guess so." I struggled to respond. We're Jake and I a thing now? He did ask me out today in class. Well Niall did it for him and he did reject Katie, so I guess him and me were dating. Harry put his arm around me as I rested my head on his shoulder trying to relax myself. We stayed in this position for a while until we heard the bell ring informing us lunch was over.

"Want me to walk you to class?" he said shifting himself and getting up.

"No, can you please stay here with me and finish watching the movie with me? I really don't feel like going to class right now." I said pulling him down on the chair resting my head on his shoulder again.

"Fine, what movie are we watching?" he examined my face waiting for me to respond.

"The Notebook, one of my faves." I smiled up at him.

"What a classic, a boy and girl have a summer fling while she's in town for the summer only too be separated by her upper-class parents who insist he isn't right for her. She leaves him, several years pass by, she marries some rich guy who she think she's "in love" with only to meet her lost summer love once again forcing her to choose between her soul mate or her high-class husband." I stared at him for a while trying to hold myself from laughing at his comment. But before I knew it I burst into laughter leaving him confused.

"What?" He chuckled as he looked down at me.

"Nothing." I giggled pressing play on the movie. We sat there for 2 hours sometimes we'd laugh and other times my eyes would water. I mean this movie did get me emotional. As we sat there, his arm around me, my head on his shoulder I couldn't help but feel like I knew this guy already. Like somewhere in my past we've met and had a connection. I don't know what it was but I was so eager to find out. After a while of thoughts I looked up to stare at him and his reactions, he was so cute. He had a cheeky smile plastered on his face, i was almost relieved he didn't catch me glancing at him every once a while.

"Did you cry?" He teased looking down at me.

"No." I shot back remembering how my eyes would water every once a while during the emotional scenes.

"It's ok if you did babe." He winked at me before standing up and gathering his stuff. "Well we should get going, bells going to ring any second now." He offered his hand and lifted me up on my feet. We put everything back to normal not wanting anyone know we were here.

"That was fun!" I ran out excited pulling him with me. "I've never done that before!"

"Done what?" He laughed.

"Skipped class to watch a movie. It was really exciting though. We should do it some other time!" I beamed interlocking our arms together.

"Might as well just skip school and go somewhere." He joked pulling me closer.

"That actually doesn't sound like a bad idea." I said skipping ahead. He cocked his head to the side intently watching me.

"I'll race you to the front gate!" He exclaimed while running ahead of me.

"No fair you already started!" I ran towards him trying to catch up until I felt a pair of hands lift me up from the waist and spin me around.

"Put me down!" I squealed feeling dizzy when I stood on my feet. We both laughed for a while till the bell rang.

"I'll see you later, Lynn." He said waving at me. I stood there for a while trying to process everything that had happened today. I smiled to myself remembering how we cuddled while watching the movie, how differently his touch made me feel. He made me feel secure and safe like if I were to fall he'd be there to catch me.

"Hey babe! Ready to go?" I snapped out of my conscious as I felt a pair of arms wrap around my waist. It didn't take me long to realize who it was.

"Yeah, ready." I sighed as I gave him a small kiss on the cheek.
