Stay Strong

Harry's P.O.V

I woke up with a pounding headache still hungover from the night before. I heard the sound of glass breaking which made my head pound even more. I quickly jumped off the bed and ran down the stairs to check on Emily.

I saw Emily laying on the floor bleeding and a person with a black ski mask and hoodie on searching through her drawers. I quietly ran up to the man and screamed "Boo!" he hit his head on one of the cabinets before turning to face me. I punched him in the nose and he landed on the floor with a bloody nose. I lifted him up by his collar and threw him out the door.

As soon as I threw him out I quickly locked the door and ran to Emily's side. She started to open her eyes and slowly regain her consciousness. I sighed a breath of relief. I helped her up from the floor and placed her on the kitchen counter next to the sink. Then I carefully started to clean up the blood on her.

"W-Why are yo-" I cut her off.

"Shhh don't worry, Everything will be fine" I whispered.

I could see the rage building up in her eyes. "No it's not!" she screamed.

She jumped off the counter but I lifted her up and placed her back on the counter. "Just wait Emily! Everything is fine!" I said.

I hated seeing her this mad at me it really hurt me because I really care about her. We stayed silent as I finished cleaning her up and then I turned around to clean up the broken glass.

"W-What happened?" she asked. I stopped what I was doing and stood up so I could face her. Then I sighed and told her the whole story from when I woke up to when she woke up.

"What's wrong with you?" she asked. I looked at her confused. "Why do you always think that you need to come to the rescue?" she yelled.

I was about to say something but she cut me off. "I am not some damsel in distress that needs Prince Charming to come and rescue her." she practically screamed.

"Why do you always push me away? I was only trying to save you." I said.

As soon as I finished my sentence she started crying. Before I knew it she wrapped her arms around me in a hug. At first I was shocked but then I wrapped my arms around her and held her close to my chest. We stayed like that in the silence for what seemed like hours.

She suddenly let go and I looked up at her worried. I wiped away some of her tears with my hand and she gave me a small smile. Before I could process what was happening she pulled my head down and connected her lips with mine. After a couple seconds she pulled away and whispered "I'm sorry! I never meant to hurt you it's just that I have a lot if things going on right now."

"Whatever it is you can tell me I'll understand."

Emily's P.O.V

I stared into his emerald green eyes before answering him. "It's a really long story" I said.

"I've got nothing but time" he said. He gave me a soft smile revealing his dimples. I smiled back and led him to the couch.

We sat on the couch for hours talking about things that I have never told anybody. I don't know why exactly I was telling Harry all of this. I was really alone and I guess that I was just open to any friends that I could have right now.

When I was finally done Harry spoke up. "Wow! I didn't know. I am so sorry!" he whispered.

I looked at him and said "You are the first person I am actually telling about this."

He looked at me and smiled "You can trust me with your secret." I smiled at him and hugged him again. After talking for a while it started to get dark so he got up and left.

As soon as he left I decided to take a shower. I ran up to my room and went in to the bathroom. While I was in the shower I sang to some random songs. As soon as I finished I dried myself off and put on a Rolling Stones tee and sweatpants. Then I put my hair into a fishtail braid and let it lie on my left shoulder.

When I finished I quickly brushed my teeth and jumped on my bed. I crawled under the covers when my phone buzzed. I picked it up and saw that I had a text from Sarah.

Hey babe! -Sarah

I smiled at the text and decided to answer back.

Hey! I'm so sorry about last night. -Emily

It's ok but why did you leave so early? -Sarah

It's a really long story come by my house tomorrow and we'll talk -Emily

Sounds good! See you tomorrow! -Sarah

I stared at the ceiling and smiled feeling happy that I finally had a friend that I could trust. For the next half an hour I laid in my bed thinking to myself. Maybe my life will get better like Harry said. There was a big part of me that hoped that what Harry said was true. I thought about everything until I finally fell into a deep sleep.

***** The Next Morning *****

I woke up to the sound of my phone beeping. "Ugghhh!" I screamed as the sunlight shone through my window and blinded me. I grabbed my phone from my table and checked the message. Sarah messaged me saying she was on her way over.

I quickly jumped off my bed and ran to the shower. I took a quick shower and then I put my hair in a bun and changed into a floral crop top and shorts. Then I ran down the stairs and started to clear up the place before Sarah came over.

I heard the doorbell ring and I ran to answer the door.I saw Sarah at the door and let her in. She came in and told me that she had a surprise for me. I was confused but curious as to what she had planned. I quickly grabbed my things and followed Sarah to her car.
