Chapter 3
Ellie Hoover
It had been about three weeks since Ellie had gotten her job and I'd never seen her any happier. It was currently the first week of December and the weather progressively getting worse, although I always thought it was nice to enjoy the beauty of each season. Normally I would have been balled up designing new pieces or spending my time in the warehouse but I actually had to get outside today. It was a Tuesday and I had meeting I attended in the morning to discuss the company, primarily the possibility of opening up and store. The meetings went well but once again there was nothing to be certain of in the placement of the store.
As the rain continued to pour down overhead, shooting onto my black umbrella, I checked my watch. 12. I was early for my lunch date with Kelsey. Luckily my meetings had been held only three blocks from my apartment and two blocks from Kelsey's work so I walked. Looking at the wide scattered puddles around me, I started to rethink my initial decision to not take my car.
Soon enough, I reached Kelsey’s office. Pearlman Media, it read in big metallic letters above the entrance. I looked down at my watch again. 12:15. Kelsey said she would be ready at 12:45 so I had time to kill; however, I did not want to stay outside in the rain. I walked inside and instantly felt the difference in temperatures. As I looked around I noticed the sleek, modern feel in the office. It wasn’t like I had not been there before. I just never had time to look around at the well-furnished building, considering Kelsey was always more than ready to go.
“Hello miss, I’m guessing you are here to see Miss Keith?” The blond employee at the front desk asked.
I nodded. “We are going to lunch.”
“I believe Miss Keith is in a meeting right now, but you are more than welcome to sit and wait for her.”
I nodded and sat down. Kelsey said she couldn’t wait to tell me about a new project she was starting. She called me earlier today and said she would explain to me at lunch but she could barely even talk on the phone so it had to have been something big.
I began to look absentmindedly at some magazines on the side table next to me. Then my mind drifted off to my meetings only a couple hours ago. The big thing on my mind was the fact that we wanted to branch out and open a store, but the question was where we would build the new store. I did not want the store to be in Seattle but we couldn’t think of a good enough location for the first place. This business was like my baby, I-
I looked down at my phone, which was vibrating.
I stood up from my chair and answered the call to be greeted by an always cheery voice.
“Darling, I have been waiting for you to call, but I couldn’t wait any longer! Did you forget about us all the way over here?”
I sighed. “No, nan. Of course not. I am sorry I haven’t called. I have just been so busy lately. How are you and pops?”
“Oh Ellie, you know the same as usual. We are expecting you to come home for Christmas though, dear. You haven’t been home in a very long time. You can’t spend another Christmas in Seattle and we are not coming out this year.”
“Is that your nice way of letting me know you are forcing me to come home?”
“Yes sweetie. When you get your plane tickets, let me know so I can make plans.”
Oh boy, I know my grandmother too well to know she wasn’t up to something. “Nan, you better not be planning anything big. Please.”
She laughed. “Darling. Nonsense. Listen I have got to go but I will call you tomorrow expecting news on plane tickets!”
“Okay I will. Love you. Tell pops goodnight. Goodnight to you too.”
“Goodnight, sweatheart. Love you too,” she said before hanging up.
I was still smiling as I locked my phone and placed it in my purse. I looked up and immediately saw a pair of the most gorgeous green eyes I had ever seen staring directly at me.

“Thank you all. I am so excited to be working with you guys. I promise this movie is going to be a big hit. I will get in touch with you guys soon!” We were released by girl whose name I don’t remember. I am not quite sure what was even said in that meeting but it was something to do with our new movie we were filming.
Walking out of the elevator into the main lobby, I was distracted by my phone, but someone’s voice pulled me out of my concentration. It was belonging to someone who definitely did not belong in Seattle of all places if not the United States. She had a sweet British accent but something about it made me smile. As I looked up to the owner of such a sweet sound, I saw she was on her phone. Brown wavy pair and a petite body. She was really dressed well. Simple. Very simple. She was very attractive, but not something I would usually go for. Oddly enough I was still attracted to her.

“How are you and pops?” I heard her say. “Is that your nice way of letting me know you are forcing me to come home?” “Nan, you better not be planning anything big. Please.” She was smiling. “Okay I will. Love you. Tell pops goodnight. Goodnight to you too.”
I watched her carefully as she put her phone in her purse and she looked up at me. Holy shit. Those eyes. No one else had as beautiful gray eyes as she did.
Without thinking, I gasped, “Smelly Ellie.”

Another update! I have a confession to make. I am not a hug one direction fan. I do like their new album and stuff though! I really found these stories on accident and kind of got hooked so I decided to right one myself and I acted on impulse. So... with that being said, I am sorry if I get anything wrong about the boys or if they are a little off. I will try my best! I probably will end up being a directioner by the end of this story.
