The Flashbacks

Chapter two

-continued flashback-I attempted to catch her attention throughout the period, vicously waving my hands in her direction without the teacher coming to notice; at least for a while. She turns her head to me, placing the marker back into its small little spot on the board.

"Horan, do you need to be moved?" Ms. Lisenby snaps, looking at me.

I shake my head quickly, returning to the drawing I was supposed to have been working on. Kaitlyn giggled softly behind me, scooting out her stool and gliding to the teacher, handing over whatever she had drawn; I wasn't able to catch a glimpse when she had walked by. I knew it was most likely a better drawing than mine, they always are better than mine.

I get up from my stool, following her quickly to the teachers desk, turning in my quickly drawn drawing right after hers, running my hand through my hair and huffing nervously. I turn to her, smiling cheesily.

"Niall." I say, extending a slightly sweaty hand out to her as she backs way from it, swatting it away lightly; I stick it back in my pocket, wiping the sweat from my palms.

"No need for a hand shake." she says quietly, a small smile creeping up at the corners of her mouth. "Kaitlyn. But I assume you knew that, you know everybody and everybody knows you. You're the star quarterback." she states, laughing softly. "Pleased to have your acquaintance ."
I look at her, furrowing my eyebrows lightly. For a girl who didn't talk much, she sure as hell had a lot to say.

"I'm not as bad as you probably think." I assure her, smiling brightly as she scoffs quietly, crossing her arms over her chest.

"Mhm, sure you aren't. You're just looking for someone you haven't already gotten pregnant and that someone happened to be me." she says quietly, shifting on her feet. "I-" I cut her off, shaking my head.

"I've never once gotten a girl pregnant, Kaitlyn." I point out, sighing. "Besides, I would at least take you to dinner first." I say, a small smile forming on my lips.

She shook her head, turning and walking back to her stool, sitting on it once more and fumbling with the zipper on her jacket. She finally pulled it up before grabbing all her stuff, putting them in an organized pile and waiting patiently for the bell to ring.

I take a seat back on my stool, gathering my stuff together and preparing for the bell to ring. I tried to talk to her again, failing terribly. Once the bell finally did ring, I shot up and made a beeline for the door. I went quickly to my locker, entering the combination nervously and getting all my things I needed before heading quickly to third.

Kaitlyn would be hard.
