The Flashbacks

Chapter one

-flashback to high school, freshman year-

I walked quickly into first period, sliding into my chair right before the tardy-bell rung loudly in the halls, pulling out a clean sheet of paper and pencil, writing down the before question I hadn't had time to copy down let alone answer. I sigh heavily, running my hand through my bleach blonde hair, slouching down in my seat as the teacher rose from her seat, heels clicking on the hard tile as she made her way to the board. I watch her intently, making sure that I wouldn't miss the answer she was going to provide for us. I quickly write it down, sliding my paper into a slot in my binder. I sigh heavily, getting out the notes from Friday and doing the worksheet she passed out for us to do before class ended. It was only Monday morning and I was already behind, tired, and confused. I do the worksheet, finishing after 45 minutes, almost to when the bell would ring. I quickly threw my stuff together, anticipating for the bell to ring so I could scoop up my stuff and go to art, a more enjoyable period. Not only because you didn't really have tests or do anything, but because she was in that class.

The bell rung in the hall and I grabbed all my things, rushing downstairs to the art room and plopping down on one of the stools, looking around to see if she was in here yet. Surely, she was. She was drawing away on a sheet of pale pink paper, probably drawing a beautifully stunning rose; that's what she always did and the teacher would always title her "Artist of The Week." and everyone would clap and cheer but everyone already knew it was coming. She would smile softly and blush deeply, shaking her head. And this is why I was in love with this girl, she was so beautiful. Her chocolate brown eyes and dark brown hair, to her crooked little smile. Everything of her complexion was adorable, and more importantly, beautiful. Her personality, her laugh, more like giggle, the way she sometimes doesn't finish a sentence because she's worried the person wouldn't understand like she does and it would only make her have to speak more. See, she wasn't exactly a so called "people person", she much preferred to be alone; all by herself. From sitting in the gym in the morning to when we had break, and she would also sit alone at lunch. I always thought of sitting by her at lunch but quickly fought myself against the idea. See, I was the 'Jock' of the school. I was star quarterback of the football team, all girls seemed to be in love with me. But I wasn't interested in all the luxuries that were constantly being thrown to me. I was interested in her and her name, her name is even better.

Kaitlyn.
