Sweet Disposition

More Than a Friend

After telling Harry's family, aside from his real father Des, about his and Louis relationship Harry finally felt some weight lift from his shoulders. He still had to worry about telling Des, but now that he had most of his family on board, he felt more confident. There was also Louis' family to think about. He had a rather large family. His parents were divorced and he had young siblings. There were more people to think about in his case.
Louis worried that if or when his and Harry's relationship went public his family would be in danger. His sisters had school and he was concerned they'd be bullied for having a gay brother. He'd have to be extra careful in public. He couldn't slip up, for their sake. They were young and had there whole lives ahead of them, he wanted to make them as proud and happy as possible.

Being around the lads became easier, they all accepted Lou and Harry as a couple. They weren't lovey dovey all of the time, a few kisses here and there and they held hands a lot, but that was usually it. Over time they'd get more comfortable around people, as of now they were intimate only in the privacy of their own home.

The two boys were laying on the couch together, Harry's head lying comfortably on the older boy's chest. He could his heart beat and listened to the steady thumping. The warmth of their bodies was cozy. Harry loved being able to lay with Louis, Louis would wrap an arm around him or run his fingers through his messy curls as they cuddled. Even with the television on Harry would close his eyes, ignoring everything around him aside from Louis. He loved him more than he had ever imagined possible.
Harry often found himself thinking of his future with Louis. He ceased to imagine a life without him. Every image involved Louis. The thought of losing him made him ill. He hated being away from the boy for more than a couple of hours.
Harry liked to lie in bed and think of his and Louis' situation. He kept out the worries and focused on how great the older boy made him feel. And he never failed to think about spending the rest of his life with him. He loved him that much. He couldn't be without him.

Harry nuzzled himself into the crook of Louis neck as he felt the older boy run his fingers through his curls. His eyes fluttered shut at the gesture and a small smile landed upon his pink lips.
"Babe, are we going to see your parents tomorrow?" Harry was hesitant to ask, but knew he needed to. They hadn't told Louis' family about their relationship and they had both been bothered with worries of media getting worse and catching on even further.
"My mum said she'd bring the girls over tomorrow. My dad won't make it though, I suppose I'll have to tell him over the phone." Louis didn't seem bothered. He'd been a bit more secure with his sexuality than Harry. He'd known of his longing for Harry and knew exactly why it was happening and why he felt the way he did about the boy. He wasn't necessarily unattracted to women, he found Eleanor to be very beautiful and occasionally found himself noticing attractive women. However when any woman or man was standing in comparison to Harry Styles, it was no competition. It would be Harry every time. His green eyes, perfectly messy hair, his lopsided smile, and even his four nipples. It was Harry, it was always Harry.

Louis' family arrived early the next morning, everyone exchanged loving hugs and kisses on the cheeks. Louis' sisters Fizzy, Lottie, Phoebe and Daisy ran around the boys' flat laughing and teasing one another. Harry was a natural with kids, he knew how to talk to them and get them to laugh, so it was a breeze for him being around Louis' family.
Before lunch everybody was sitting in the living room, chatting and catching up, Louis sat close to Harry, their arms touching and they exchanged the occasional touch. Louis would touch Harry's thigh or give him a look of adoration, and Harry would touch Louis' arm or hand, as if he was about to lace their fingers, but he'd pull back and give the older boy a smile.
Louis' mum was not unaware of the glances and banter the two boys before her shared. They'd always been abnormally close for friends, but she never commented on it much.
It wasn't hard to see that the boys had grown considerably closer through the past months. The way Harry looked at Louis when he spoke was astounding. The young boy would watch his lips as they moved, entranced by every syllable that made it's way through into the air between them. He'd lean his body forward as he listened, fully in-tuned to his words, no matter what they were.

Lottie, who had been eyeing her brother and his best friend was old enough to see there was more than just friendship. She was young, but old enough to acknowledge what was before her.
"Harry, do you love my brother?" Lottie's comment came out of nowhere and stopped everyone mid-sentence. Harry nearly choked on his own saliva and Louis only stared at him nervously.
Harry swallowed the lump in his throat, "What do you mean Lottie?" Harry feared his voice would crack and reveal all that needed to be.
"I think what she means is, do you love Louis more than a friend?" It was Louis' mother's voice. She seemed timid, but calm and that put Harry a little more at ease.
Louis looked at his mum and felt his eyes fill with tears, he didn't think he'd cry, but here it was. The tears were threatening to fall in a matter of seconds.
Harry looked to the boy he loved, tears in his beautiful blue eyes, his chin quivering. He took both of his hands in his and set them in his lap. He was shaking, Harry knew it was time.
"I do. Very much." That was all it took. Four words and it was laid on the table for everyone to know and gawk at. But they didn't. Louis' mum, Jay, had tears down her cheeks, but not from anger or frustration, she was happy for her son. She was happy that it was Harry who held her son's heart.
Harry turned to Louis and wiped his tears away gently. He smiled lightly, to let him know everything was perfectly fine and brushed the hair from his face.
Jay watched as the boys shared the quick intimate moment. Harry looked at Louis like he was the only thing that mattered in the world, and Louis reciprocated the look equally. She knew by the way they communicated with a look or a touch, that it was a powerful bond that kept them together.
She could only smile as she watched her oldest child mouth the words 'I love you,' to the boy next to him, who beamed as he read his lips. It was beautiful to see such love and happiness.
