Sweet Disposition

Confess My Heart

Harry and Louis were in their honeymoon stage of dating. Although they hadn't gone public with any of it, there was some skepticism surrounding the two. It started when fans found out about Louis and Eleanor breaking up. It also came from the two being in public more and more together. As much as they tried, they couldn't keep away from each other. They always stood next to each other, sat by one another for interviews, and occasionally made small moves toward one another that would later turn up as a gif, or in a magazine about their 'bromance.'
The attention had become overwhelming already and they hadn't even told anyone but the boys. It was going to be a long road ahead for everyone involved.

'zzzz' 'zzzzzzzzzz' Harry's phone buzzed in his pocket and he pulled it out, answering with a kind "hello?"
"Harry? Are you alright?" Harry smiled at the sound of his mum's voice.
"Yeah, I'm fine, why?" Harry was a little confused as to why she was so concerned.
"I've seen the media going crazy about you and Louis, I wanted to make sure you were okay. How's Louis? Why is this happening?" Anne was clearly worried about her son, but Harry was still hiding the truth.
"Louis' okay, you know how the media is…" Harry tried to keep from lying, but he knew keeping the truth was no better than a flat out lie.
"Harold, I'm your mum, I know when you're lying, and I know when your sad." Anne was being bold and honest, Harry wasn't sure if he was ready for it.
"Look mum, could we maybe just meet up later and talk about this? We do need to talk, and I'd like to do it in person. Please?" Harry heard his voice break with the plead.
On the other end of the phone, Harry could hear his mother let out a deep breath, like she was already preparing for what the media already had a hunch on.
"Of course, we'll do lunch. Should I have Gemma come home?" Anne wouldn't have asked if she didn't know what was going to happen. But she did… well, her gut instinct did.
"Yeah, have her come. I'll be there as soon as I can. Love you mum… i really do." Harry felt a lump in his throat and a stinging in his eyes.
"I love you too Harry. See you soon." And with that the line clicked and buzzed in Harry's ear.
His eyes were watery, but he choked back the fat tears that were on the edge of spilling over.

Louis came up behind Harry and wrapped his arms around his waist, and rested his chin on Harry's shoulder. "Hey love." Louis' voice was sweet and soft, like a security blanket. Harry just turned his head and kissed Louis on the cheek lightly.
"We have to go to Cheshire today." Louis could tell it was 'truth time' from Harry's shaky voice. He knew he would have to be stronger than ever for Harry, because this was going to be one of the scariest things for both of the boys… but Harry was younger and more concerned with the reaction of his parents than Louis. Louis knew his family would be okay.
"Okay, when do we leave?" Louis moved to face Harry and took his hands in his own and held them sweetly.
"I need to put on some nicer clothes, we'll be having lunch with my family." Louis already gathered this, he was dressed fine for lunch.

After Harry changed they left in Harry's car. The drive to Holmes Chapel was long. They stopped in Northampton and Birmingham for gas and to stretch their legs. Harry was getting tired, he and Louis didn't talk much. Louis knew Harry was deep in thought and let him be, holding his hand or occasionally touching his shoulder to let him know he was there in case the younger boy needed to talk.

When they arrived Harry pulled up to his childhood home and exhaled loudly. His hands were shaking and his heart was pounding in his chest. He'd never once thought he'd have to tell his parents he was in love with a boy. He wasn't even sure if he was gay, he'd never had this feeling for any other male except Louis. He knew it didn't make him straight, but he still noticed women, so maybe he was bisexual… but he figured Louisexual.
Louis noticed Harry's shaking once they had gotten out of Harry's Range Rover. He was worried about the younger boy, he knew how scared he was. Louis was too, he was just being strong for Harry.
The two walked up to the front door and Harry walked right in, Louis following close behind.
"Mum?" Harry called to Anne, waiting for a response.
"Harold!" Anne came up to Harry and hugged him tightly. They didn't get to see each other as often as they'd like, and she was constantly missing her son.
The hug made Harry want to cry, he held back his tears as his mother patted his back. He figured she knew what he had to tell her. She always knew what Harry had to say, or what he was keeping a secret.
Anne pulled away and went to hug Louis, who wrapped his arms around her and patted her back.
"It's so nice to see you again." Anne spoke as she hugged the Doncaster boy.
Louis pulled away and smiled, "You too."

"Well I wasn't sure if you wanted to eat here at home or out somewhere… So I made some food just in case." Anne was polite and kind, she was a sweetheart and wanted to see her son smile again. He just stood next to Louis with a nervous look and shaking hands.
Louis wanted to take his hand, but figured he should wait until they spill the beans first.
"Here is fine. Where is Gemma? Is Robin here?" Harry's voice was shaky and both Anne and Louis could tell this was going to an emotional evening.
"They both are. Is it alright if Robin sits in for lunch?" Anne always made sure Harry was comfortable with Joe being around, and he always was. He'd known him most of his life and had been through a lot with the whole family.
"Yeah, umm, that's fine." Harry ran his fingers through his curly hair, messing it up and fixing it again with a shake and swipe across the front.

Gemma came down from upstairs and Robin came from outside. The table was set and they all took their seats. Louis next to Harry, Anne next to Gemma and Joe at the head of the table.
They ate with a bit of small talk and slightly awkward silence. Louis kept looking at Harry, who had the obvious signs of sadness in his eyes. As if he could cry at any moment, and it broke Louis' heart to see the boy next to him so troubled.

Once most of the food was gone Anne and Gemma cleared the table. Anne sat back down and looked to Robin with a concerned expression.
"So you boys have something you needed to talk to us about." Anne was as careful as she could be. She had never been in this situation and had no idea how to go about it.
"Yeah, and we understand if you get upset, we're not sure how to handle it either… I just, I don't want any of you to hate me… or Lou." Harry looked to Louis, who was trying to smile, but the feeling of his heart beating a mile a minute and 3 people who could potentially hate his guts was sinking into his gut.
"Harry, we would never hate you, or Louis. You boys are family, and no matter what happens, it will always be that way." Anne was sweet and her voice was soft and calming.
Harry smiled at Anne, his eyes glistening with unshed tears.
"It's just… Lou and I have been… we're kind of umm… I'm.." Harry struggled to find the words. What was the best way? He pinched the bridge of his nose and crinkled his forehead.
"I'm in love with him." Harry looked up at his mum, tears gliding down his cheeks slowly. He looked to Louis, who looked the same. His eyes were bluer when he cried, he was so afraid they'd be kicked out of the house and sent home being shunned. Not everyone was liberal or accepting of same sex relationships, he was hoping Harry's family would be though.
"I know." Anne scooted her chair back and got up, going to the other side of the table to her son. She pushed his chair back and stood in front of him, taking his hands before she kneeled on the floor, attempting to be more level with him.
"Harold, I've seen the way you look at him. That's more than a friendship, and I support you one hundred percent. Whatever makes you happy, makes me happy. I will love you no matter who you love okay? You don't have to cry, everything is going to be just fine."
Harry held his mums hands tightly, he cried as she spoke to him, she was so calm and understanding. She didn't question his sexuality, she just understood that he loved someone and accepted that.
Harry stood up and lifted his mum along with him, he wrapped his long arms around her and hugged her tight. He felt so thankful to have a mum who didn't care about the gender of the person he loved, he was thankful that she accepted him no matter what, and loved her unconditionally, just like she did for him.

Louis wiped at his eyes, he was crying out of fear first, and happiness once Anne had said those things to Harry.
Gemma was understanding just like Anne, she hugged Harry and told him that he had her full support. She went on to hug Louis, and tell him that she thought of him as a brother already, and she was happy that it was him who Harry loved.
Robin was accepting as well. He hugged the boys and told them he'd support them. He liked Louis already and told him he was a part of the family from the start.
