A Crazy Thing Called Love

Epilogue

Carmen's POV

"Quit it." Harry squeezes my hips and kisses down the side of my neck while I try to put dishes away. "Harry, come on."

"What?"

"We're supposed to be unpacking," I remind him. "And I'm out of plates."

"So they're already in the cupboard."

"No, half of them are still in the package." He nips at my neck and I giggle, turning around to face him. He keeps me pinned against the granite. "So keep working."

"We need a break," he suggests.

"We just had one."

"Baby." He slides his hands down my hips and over my backside. "I need another one."

"Harry, we are not having sex until we finish unpacking."

"What!" he shouts. He stands in front of me with his hands on his hips. "Why?"

"Because!" I have to try not to laugh at how upset he is about that statement. "We've been here three days and there's still boxes everywhere. Plus, I refuse to eat anymore takeout. I've gained thirty pounds in the last three days."

"That is not true. But okay, how about we make a deal?"

I narrow my eyes at him. "What kind of deal?"

"We finish the kitchen, then we take a break. Maybe a shower," he says lowly, pressing his body against mine. I roll my eyes and he dips down to kiss my neck again. He's persistent, this one. I'm used to it by now but it's still hard to say no to those sultry green eyes and sexy half-smile. "Aren't we supposed to compromise?"

"Okay stop." I shove him away again and he laughs. "Plates. Now."

"Yes ma'am."

Harry saluts me and goes to unpack the next box. I didn't realize moving would be such a big deal; I guess I never realized how much stuff you need. After Harry and I graduated from USC we stayed in Columbia for a year. We both had jobs there and we could try and build our resumes a little more while we saved up. Staying in Columbia was never my plan and it wasn't Harry's, either. We didn't really have a plan, but it's worked for us and now we're going from right now. And right now means moving into a tiny apartment in London. A tiny apartment that I love and not just because I get to live here with Harry.

"Did we pick these out?" Harry asks, holding up some small dessert dishes.

"No, your Mum got those for us."

"I thought she got us furniture?"

"She did. But she also got us a few other things on our registry."

"These are hideous," he says simply. "There's no way this was on our registry."

"Yeah, I think it was an accident," I laugh. They are pretty ugly. "But they were a gift, so we're keeping them."

"You're bossy today."

"Bossy?" I repeat, hand on my hip while I glare at him. He smiles and reaches above me to put the dishes on a shelf.

"Assertive," he corrects.

"Much better."

"Okay, can we take that break now?" He leans his palms on either side of me and I laugh at how desperate he is. "Baby, it's not funny. I'm in pain over here."

"Then control yourself." My advice is hard to follow for myself with the way he has his t-shirt unbuttoned. Completely unbuttoned, tattoos and abs on full display. It's unfair to expect me to keep turning him down when he looks the way that he does. I didn't even realize I was staring until Harry chuckles and brings my attention back to him.

"I have a face, you know," he says quietly. He bumps his nose against mine a few times. "Quit objectifying me."

"You started it."

"I'll finish it."

A sqealish laugh leaves my lips as Harry lifts me up, my ankles locking around his hips. Every time I think he can't make me any happier, he does. Whenever I feel like I couldn't possibly love him any more, like my heart would burst if that happened, I'm proved wrong. Every day, every minute, with every touch, every breath, every laugh, and every smile I fall more and more in love. I thought feeling like I wasn't in control of my feelings would be terrifying, but it's the opposite. It's exhilarating and...freeing.

"I was wondering why you wanted to get the bedroom ready first." He lies me down and stands up to slide his shirt from his arms. "I think I understand now."

"I knew it-"

Someone knocks on our door and Harry's smile fades instantly, hands pausing from unbuckling his belt. I sort of forgot to mention that to him.

"They'll come back," he says, crawling over top of me.

"Harry," I laugh. I put my hands against his chest and he sighs. "That would be the wall unit we ordered."

"Like I said. They can come back."

He groans when I push him off of me, trying to convince me all the way to the door that we can be done before they're finished knocking. And as appealing as that offer sounds, I had to pass. Harry mumbles a few curses to himself while he goes back for his shirt and I move a few boxes out of the way to make a direct path to the door.

"Hi," I swing the door open and two guys come in with a few giant boxes. "Just put them wherever there's room."

"Sign here," the other one says. I take the clipboard and he whistles. "That's quite the rock you've got there."

"Oh. Yeah, it's something, right?" I laugh and fiddle with it. "My fiance has good taste."

Flashback

"Harry!" I snapped, whisper-yelling as I walked through the park. "This isn't funny!"

He called me saying he couldn't find his way back to the hotel we'd been staying at. He'd gone out for a walk to get some air and almost two hours later he called to say he was hopelessly lost in some park.

"Harry!"

My phone starts vibrating and it takes two seconds for me to answer it. "Harry Edward Styles, you better hope someone jumps you in this park. Because if you aren't murdered then I'm going to be the one to kill you."

He laughs and it only adds to my anger. "Relax, baby. You're really close to me."

"Are you kidding me? This isn't Marco-Polo! It's pitch black and I'm about to get stabbed."

After that he hangs up, leaving me slightly dumbfounded before my anger returns. How dare he hang up on me when I'm trying to yell at him. I'm about to give up and leave him to fend for himself when a light catches my eye somewhere to my left. When I start walking towards it then a whole bunch more slowly turn on, gradually lighting up what looks like a gazebo. And as I walk towards it Harry steps in front, dressed in a black suit, white dress shirt and a black tie.

"You're an ass." Despite myself I'm smiling when I walk up to him. He extends his hand to me and leads me onto the platform of the gazebo.

"Maybe. But at least I'm a romantic ass."

End of Flashback.

Then he proposed. There was music and flowers and some tears from me. Harry got down on one knee and used my full name. Apparently he even got permission from my father. I wasn't expecting it at all, which made it even more perfect. We've both been so blissed out ever since.

I tipped the delivery guys and started opening more boxes after they left. We were nowhere close to having our place set up and we're going to have to start working in a few days. Having a television is hardly going to help us, but snuggling up on the couch with Harry watching a movie is one of my favourite past times.

"Harry!" I call, flipping through the manual. "Do you want to build this now?"

"Not even a little bit," he says. "I told you I wanted to take a break so lets just sit on the couch for a while and do nothing."

"Sounds productive." I let him pull me to our new couch and squish me between the back of it and his body. Maybe a small break would be okay.

Harry's POV

This is what I wanted. Sitting in our own place, just being together without having to worry. Even my own insecurities can't touch us here and it's so peaceful to just be able to be with the woman I love. Just be.

"What's going on under that curly mop?" she asks, laying her head on my lap. She holds my hand over her stomach, twisting one of my rings around my finger.

"Not a lot." Carmen doesn't ask anymore, her eyes trained on the white ceiling above us. Carmen has only gotten more beautiful over the last few years and any trace of being a girl has gone. She's gorgeous and she's mine and I can't really believe that. Back when we were in school it was hard to imagine loving her more than I already did. But I'm constantly proven wrong; every time she laughs I fall more. When I've had a bad day and she runs her hands through my hair I fall more. When she catches me staring and rolls her eyes at me, I fall more. We fight- damn, do we fight- but we also love each other like hell and after everything we've been through that's not changing. Ever.

"Can we have a small wedding?" she asks randomly.

"Small," I repeat. She nods and looks up at me. "You want that?"

"I can only think of a handful of people I really want there. My Dad, your family, Steph, Liam, Rachel, Ivy, the rest of the boys and their girlfriends. And my Mom and her family. I only want to have people that mean something to us, you know?"

"You only get to do it once, though. Are you sure you'd be happy with that?"

"I don't need two hundred guests and a huge party," she says. "I just need you."

"You know I'll do whatever you want," I promise, brushing my fingers through her blonde hair. She sighs, smiling as her eyes fall closed. I'm going to get what I've wanted the most in my entire life: being able to make Carmen happy for the rest of her life. That's all I want, and now I get it. I guess sometimes you get what you wish for.

"The delivery guy noticed my ring," she says, lifting her left hand so she can see the diamond I gave her.

"You like it, right?" She looks up at me again. "Because we can always exchange it. I wanted it to be a surprise, but if you want to pick a different one out now-"

"Shut up." She sits up and brushes her fingers across my cheek. "I love it. It's perfect because you gave it to me. Plus, it's actually perfect."

"I love you," I tell her, kissing her softly. "I just want you to be happy."

"I'll be even happier when here's a wedding ring on your finger," she says, wrapping her arms around my neck. A laugh leaves my lips and I pull her onto my lap.

"Me too, baby. Me too."

But... but I love your stories! You're the best writer I've encountered on this site, or any other! You're stories are sooooo well written and are actually believable and realistic unlike most other stories. I don't know what I'm going to read now that I don't have anything of yours left!!
