Lonely Hearts Club
Lies
She walked into the university building with her head slightly lower than usual, hoping to avoid him. You see usually Sophie-Mae held her head up high every minute of every day, knowing she had apsoloutley nothing to be ashamed of, and this annoyed people.
She had manged to make her way to the lecture hall without bumping into him. She debated about maybe sitting at the front for once knowing the back of the room would be the first place he would look for her, but then again, the chance of him wanting anything more to do with her, seemed very small, so she decided to take a chance, and sit in her usual seat. As usual the proffessor was late, and she had been sitting there a good 30 minutes because as usual, she was early. Sophie-Mae had resorted to pulling the face to the front of her face and braiding it. She was concentrating so hard that she didn't realise him sitting right next to her, almost ontop of her infact. She only noticed his presence when he gripped her lower arm trying to get her attention and as a reflex Sophie-Mae whipped her long blonde hair back round her face. ''Harry.'' She said a little surprised he was at the university again, assuming he would be working. ''Don't sound too happy.'' He said chuckling.
''Sorry. It-It's just I didn't expect to see you here today. Seen as you were only last here the other day, I thought you'd be working.''
''Ah...I got out of it.'' He smiled turning his attention to the front of the room. What did he mean he got out of it?
Just as she was going to ask, the proffessor finally arrived and began talking about something which as usual, she had no interest in. But Sophie-Mae was usually the type of student that would take notes anyway and listen intently always. I guess you could say she was a geek. In some ways.
But today she broke her tradition. Sophie-Mae wasn't listening to a word she was saying. Quite often she would steal glances at Harry, who was pretending to be listening intently but she could tell he wasn't because of the small smirk that formed on his lips everytime she stole a glance.
She examined his bloodshot eyes, no change in that area, the dark circles, his washed out skin tone, Sophie-Mae couldn't understand how anyone could just ignore all of this, act like nothing was wrong, when the Harry Styles would soon be the late Harry Styles if no one helped him soon. Harry thought that she was admiring him, like most girls, but Sophie-Mae could see through that, to others the dark circles and bloodshot eyes were a sign of a 'heavy night' but she knew...she knew the truth, and she wasn't afraid to admit that he needed help unlike everyone else. After all she had now experienced it first hand now.
The lecture soon ended and she began to pack up her things. ''Thank-you again. For the other night.''
''You don't need to thank me again. But seriously Harry, you need to sort yourself out.'' Harry lowered his head in shame, he knew she was right. He just didn't want to admit it. He decided to just believe everyone around him that said he was 'just enjoying himself' or 'just fine'...and the reason you ask?
Because it was easier. ''I'm fine.'' He said still with his head lowered but his voice was angry. Whether he was angry with himself, or her, who knows.
