Grains of Gold

Harry’s POV.


It was my fifth day at home.

-“Harry, what are you doing?” - Mom asked and sat next to me on the sofa.

-“Nothing” - I locked my phone and looked at her.

-“How can you chat all day long? It’s unbelievable! Every time I see you, you hold your phone in your hand, texting.”

-“And it’s all right, mom.”

-“I bet, you held your phone even when you had that golf game.”

-“Are you spying on me?” - I asked, narrowing my eyes and smiled. - “It’s… Nothing serious. I’m just chatting.”

And then I lost in my thoughts. What if I told her about Nas at that moment? It seemed like a good idea, but it really would be looking like I was in love with her, when I wasn’t.

-“Do you know how many talented people we have in this world?”

-“Probably every single person is talented.”

-“Maybe, but I’m talking about people who can draw and can do it really well.”

-“Like a professional?”

-“Yeah. Just… Wait a second.” - I unlocked my phone and found Nas’ page and opened her photos. - “Here… Look at these drawings.”

-“You know… you, guys, have really talented fans!” - She said, shaking her head. - “She’s nice.”

-“Who?”

-“This girl. Am I right, all of these are her drawings?” – Mom asked, scrolling through her photos.

-“Or, at least, it seems to be her.”

She pressed “Back” bottom. Oops. I didn’t want her to do it, but she did.

-“Mmm… and you follow her. It’s good. I mean, I’m very proud of you, my little Harry. You are so close to your fans and appreciate their works.” - She paused. - “Okay, I’ll leave you alone with your fans for now. But anyway, you’d better go out.”

-“Yeah, you’re right. In such foggy rainy weather I definitely need to go out.” - I said thoughtfully, and then something clicked in my head. - “Yeeeeah, you're totally right. I need to go! No. Not "to go"...”

-“I don't like the way you sound...”

-“I need to FLY.” - I shouted and fell down from the sofa.

-“My son’s insane.” - Mom rolled her eyes. - “So what new crazy idea is on your mind?”

Next evening I flew to L.A. to have some rest in the open air with nice weather and a beach near the house. Although I asked Mom and Gemm to come with me, they refused.


Nas’ POV.

He still behaved the same. And I still stumbled on the same rakes. Yeah, it’s hard to believe, but I continued to do that! Ge-ni-us! And more to say, I didn’t just stumble, I really did jumped on the rakes!

But not that day. That day the situation turned in a different way. A completely different way!

It was a sunny day (as it’s usually said in such stories) and I was doing obviously nothing. And then… He texted me.

“What are you doing?”

I didn’t want to talk to him, but I couldn’t stop myself from an answering him.

“Nothing”

“Okay, and what will you do in the evening?”

Why did he ask this like that? It seemed like he wanted me to meet him, but it was kind of unreal for him.

“Dunno. Why are you asking?”

While I was waiting for his answer, I checked my fridge and found some really cool and tasty red apples there. Who put them there? It definitely wasn’t me. But… If I found them, it means that I could eat them.

I made a bite and realized that this one was really delicious. I unlocked my phone and the apple fell from my hand on the table. Thanks God, it was just an apple, not my phone…

I kept my eyes and mouth wide open and kept staring at the screen and his message.

“Will you be my girlfriend?”
