Harry's POV

"NO!" Melody shouted, jumping up from her spot on the couch. Without touching the ground once, she covered the five-foot distance between us and tackled me, wrestling the airhorn out of my hands.
She rolled off me and stood up, pulling her shirt down. "You do not want to wake Heather up."
"Why not? I have to wake up the lads before their food gets cold," I said, confused.
"Food?" Niall asked, cracking open one eye. His hair stuck up in all directions, not just One Direction.
"Food," Melody said. "Kitchen. Caveman eat." Niall rolled off the couch and walked into the kitchen.
"Why not?" I repeated.
"Would you want to deal with a pissed-off teenager?"
I shook my head.
"I didn't think so," she said. "Let me show you how to wake them up."
She walked to the bathroom and knocked on the door, saying something about clothes.
That's not going to help much. I thought, smirking. I ate my pancakes, wondering what her plan was. A few minutes later, Melody came back, this time with Ella. She was explaining something to her in hushed tones. A grin spread across Ella's face, and she stifled a laugh.
What are they up to?

Melody's POV

I walked over to where Harry was standing. I quickly explained what we were going to do, then walked over to Zayn and started singing in a hushed voice with Ella:

"Way up in the sky, where the lit-tle birds fly
Way down in the nest, where the lit-tle birds rest
With a wing on the left, and a wing on the right
The lit-tle birds sleep, all through the night
Hush.... hush...."
As we got to the hush, hush part, Ella and I quietly moved to the ear that was not against the wall, bent over, and shouted:
"GOOD MORNING!!!"
Zayn jerked awake at the sudden shout and glared at us.
"Rise and shine, sleeping beauty! The sun's up, the air is not warm, but that's typical North Dakota winter in a nutshell for you," I said, smiling brightly. "Food's here. Go eat it before Niall does."
Ella giggled in the way that only 10-year-olds can, and was joined by Louis' laugh and Harry's chuckle. Ella moved on to Liam, who was now drooling and snoring loudly. She started the song again. I joined in when she reached the second line, then Harry and Louis joined in. Let's just say that Liam wasn't very happy with the wake-up song. He muttered something about stupid birds and why would they get up early anyway.
I walked over to Heather carefully and stood a good three feet away from her. Niall came back out to the sitting room to see what all the noise was about, and made the mistake of standing over her from the back of the couch, which I warned him about almost immediately. Liam finally got up and sang along with the song. I always thought the wake-up song was one of the best ways to wake up, because my mom used to sing it to me when I was little to wake me up. (Heather, however, hated the wake-up song more that she hated One Direction, which was really saying something.) But when I heard the boys singing it together, I couldn't sing along. I was afraid of ruining the song with my voice. But Ella plowed ahead, singing the song with every tiny bit of her thrown into it.
Heather, of course, had to go and ruin the moment by punching Niall's nose.
Can't say I didn't warn him.

Okay, so this isn't my HUGE idea. But this is definitely helping me in really weird ways that are too confusing for even my HEAD to figure it out, so I'm not even going to try to explain it.
Anyway, since it's Holy Week, I'm going to visit my friend whose mom is in seminary. Her mom is preaching on Good Friday, which I supposed is today, because it is now 2:41 am. And it has been for like, 30 seconds. Probably more like 45 seconds now but... oh, look. Nevermind. It is now 2:42 am.
I'm really excited because I get to meet her cousin and his girlfriend. They live in Arizona, so she doesn't get to see him often, and she got to meet her cousin's girlfriend for the first time today. 2:43 am.
