I'm ready http://www.polyvore.com/doctor_wear/set?id=79141370 and hour later Maya is in her scrubs and we head out to the hospital. Chewing my nails all the way there, I know something is wrong. Pulling up to the parking lot my stomach is doing cartwheels. I feel like throwing up again. Thinking of my prescriptions I keep it in.

Sitting in the doctors office I get jumpy. When the doors open, when the baby screams for attention. I’m at wits trying to keep my cool. Keeping myself busy with my phone, I end up on YouTube. As is a doctors office, I wait almost 40 minutes till I hear my name.

“Kianna.” the nurse says looking around for me.

“Over here! I jump up almost forgetting my hat. Doing the regular screening and test I go back out into the lobby to wait. Again.

Finally my hot doctor calls me. Dr. Stevens is a tall handsome old man with blonde hair and some scruffiness going on. Getting up I make sure I have all my things. Bumping into him, he leads me to his exam room.

“So what’s going on Kia?”

“Well I’m always tired even though I get 8 or even 9 hours of sleep. It’s hard for me to get up in the mornings which is bad seeing that I work all week 7am to 3pm, oh and my headaches. Man they are so bad I want to just bang my head against the walls.”

“Well I see you ADD is still present.”

“Hey speaking of that, I kinda forget to take my pills everyday. Is that bad? Can I get sick from that? Or go crazy?”

“You haven’t been taking your pills?” looking at my charts “Well we lowered the dosage since you were 8. If you skip a day or two you should be fine.”

“Ha yeah I might have skipped,” thinking about my pill case that has 2 weeks ready for use “Almost 4 weekssss.” looking at him worried he reassures me nothing is wrong with that. Taking his own test, breath in/out, does this hurt, open wide, etc. he waves in a nurse.

“Abby here is going to take some blood samples for our experts. Shouldn’t take more than 20 minutes.” he leaves to check on other patients and leaves me alone with Abby, this 20ish girls who has a bubbly personality. She’s talking about her hair, her shoe collection, and her boyfriend.

“OW! Can you not talk about your boyfriend kissing another girl while you’re taking my blood?” about to yank my arm away from her.

“Okay I’m sorry.” she giggles “We are almost done.” taking the needle out and bandaging me up she takes me back to the waiting room.

Waiting again, I get calls from mom, Maya, and a blocked number. Feet tapping the floor my nerves get the best of me. Looking around at all the sick or hurt people I feel bad for them. Door opens and I’m called into Stevens office.

“Well doc, am I going to die?”

“No you are not going to die.” he says laughing at me “Well we got the test back and there’s nothing to worry about.”

“Really? I’m fine. Nothing’s wrong?” looking shocked and feeling a little disappointed.

“Nothing’s wrong. But,” he says putting down the folder “you’re pregnant.”

“….”

“Kia.” waving his hand in my face “Are you okay? Hello.”

Bursting out in laughter I fall off the chair. “I’m sorry. I thought you said I’m pregnant.” getting back up I sit on the chair ”Oh gosh Doc, you got jokes.”

“I did say that. You are going to have a baby.”

“What? No. Be serious.”

“I am serious. In fact I can’t lie about anything. It’s against our rules and we could have a lawsuit against us. Me and the hospital.”

“How?”

“Really?” he says giving me a stupid look “Well when a girl and a guy are intimate like..”

“Stop! I know how. I meant how long?”

“Well,” looking at my charts again “going on 10 weeks. So two months and a week.” smiling at me he shows me the papers.
