Big Hot Mess (A One Direction Fan-fiction)

Chapter one: London Calling

-Maria-

“Maria! Hurry up! They’ve starting boarding the plane,” Sarah shouted at me ten feet away.

“I know! Stop shouting, I’m going as fast as I can,” I said trying to catch my breath. This bag was really heavy and we’d been walking for ages now! I can’t believe how big Schiphol Airport is… We only had 50 minutes between our plane from Norway to the plane leaving for London, and there were sooo many people there it was crazy. Why did they always put the gate I was going to at the very end of the airport? Just my luck, I guess…

“There! I can see it!” ‘Finally’, I thought to myself, I couldn’t wait to sit down on the plane.

“Oh, thank god!” Sarah said to herself as we got in line at the gate.

I woke up feeling a bit better after having a nap, only to realise that we were high up in the air. I could start to see the outline of a big city, which could only mean that we were soon there! The butterflies in my stomach were back and I turned around to wake up Sarah.

“Sarah, look! We’re here!” I whispered. I hated how you could always hear what other people were saying on the plane…

“What, already?” Sarah jumped off her seat to take a better look. “”Oh, yeah! That’s that river right? …Oh my God, what’s it called again?” I shrugged… “Themes! The river Themes!” she said way too loud.

“Shhhh…” I said while putting a finger across my lips, and then we both started laughing.

The next thing I know, the pilot said we were descending on the speaker going through the cabin. Only 10 minutes now I thought to myself! “I hope Emily’s there yet!”

-Emily-

Where were they? I started thinking to myself. I had been standing here for almost half an hour now and they should’ve been here by now… Before I knew it I saw two familiar faces smiling as they half ran across the airport towards me.

“Oh my god, I can’t believe you’re here!” I shouted as I took them both in for the biggest bear hug ever. We stood like that for while, hugging, screaming and almost crying, making all the people around us stare at us in disbelief. Honestly, I couldn’t care less…

“You alright? Sorry, it took so long. Maria’s luggage was the last one to come off…” Sarah said while picking up her suitcase and started walking.

“Yeah, no only for half an hour, but that’s alright. You’re worth it!” I said, smiling at both of them only to receive two in return.

“I’m starving” Maria said before Sarah joined in.

“Yeah, me too.”

“Well, we can’t have that now, can we? Let’s get a taxi and get going.” I said while leading them thought the airport and out the main entrance.

The weather was surprisingly nice for a change, seeing as we were in London after all. The consistent rain and cloudy sky was unbearable at times, but it wasn’t like that was a big enough reason to leave. I loved London, and now I had my two favourite people here with me too.

-Sarah-
I remember coming to London almost half a year ago and staying in Emily’s apartment. It was only for a weekend, but I quickly realised that I had to go back soon. I loved London and everything that went with it. Well not everything… I could pretty much do without all the people and loud noises coming from the busy streets, but the nightlife here was to die for!

“Welcome home, girls” Emily said when we stepped into the hallway. The place was spotless. Clearly she had been cleaning and tidying before we came, all unnecessary we had both told her, but who could blame her? She was a perfectionist and we all knew it. I decided not to make a comment.

“I need the loo…” Maria said looking around trying to find a bathroom without any luck.

“Right down the hall to your left” Emily answered while taking off her heels. …HEELS? Really? I don’t know how she could do it. I was more of a converse-kind of girl, never caring too much about heels apart from when I would go out clubbing.

“I’ll go put the oven on. I made some lasagne earlier today, hope you like it” Emily said disappearing down the hall.

“Yeah, that sounds great,” I said tracing after her. I was starving.

The kitchen was bigger then what I remembered. It was white, modern and had a little island smack in the middle. I wasn’t the kind of kitchen most students could afford, but I heard Will, one of Emily’s flatmates had parents that helped them pay the extra costs. You couldn’t really complain with that…

“Are you ready for tonight?” I said taking a seat in the barstool next the kitchen island.

“Uhm, yeah…” Emily said, not sure of her own answer. I kept eying her waiting for her to go on. She started laughing to herself while saying, “Okay, don’t laugh, but I kind of have nothing to wear.”

Oh my god, this is so typical her. “What?! I don’t believe you! You have tonnes of clothes!”

“Yeah, well… Nothing I want to wear” she half smiled.

“You’re unbelievable,” I laughed. “Well, you can borrow something of mine if you want, but I’m sure you wont find anything interesting. I didn’t bring much seen as I was hoping we could de some shopping.”

“Thanks!” she said, “ and of course we have to go shopping! We have all the time in the world!”

“What did I miss?” Maria said while climbing onto the barstool next to me.

“Not much. Just Emily being her usual self, and us deciding on going shopping one of the next couple of days,” I said.

“Oh, perfect! I love shopping! Yay!” Maria said while clapping her hands.

“We know you do…” Emily said and then we were all back to laughing out loud as usual.

@mikkemille

Please, don't feel forced to! It's your story and it's perfect as you write it! But what can I say? I fell for your Niall. To me he's the most Niall of all Nialls I've read :) xo

Thank you, @marte! Neither can I, haha xx <3

And thank you so much for your comments and feedback, @not_any_maryjane! It's so much easier to know what to write about when someone tells you what they want to hear! ;) I'll try to write more about "the Niall and Sarah drama"! As for Emily, I think we all know that this wasn't the end. <3 xo

This chapter is perfection! God, I loved everything, especially Niall getting things straight with Sarah! I want more of those two, please... <3 And the other two, perhaps Emily could be a bit more understanding about Harry's situation, but I guess it makes sense.

Dying to see what falls apart next! xo
