Beating Heart

Jasper's P.o.V

Its really not any ordinary spot. I have a feeling Zayn bit me. But when? Wouldn't it have hurt me? I have many questions to ask him, but I'm going to have to wait until tomorrow.

"Jasper, wake up." I hear a voice say. I quickly wake up and see Zayn at the end of my bed staring at me.

"I've got a few questions to ask you." I cross my arms across my chest.

"What?" He asks, curiously. He's acting like nothing happened.

I move the hair away from my neck, "What the hell is this?" I sort of raise my voice. He's silent and shocked. "Did you bite me?" He nods.

"I'm sorry. I don't know what happened. My vampire self took over." He burries his head in his hands. I stare at him, unsure of what I should say.

"What will happen to me?" I ask.

"You'll be just like me." Zayn says. "Just be careful with your eyes. Try to maintain your natural eye color."

"Zayn, is it fun to be like this?" I ask. Jo would've asked the same thing.

"Depends. It mostly is fun." He shrugs. I lean in and kiss his lips softly. I smile at him.

"Wanna take a picture?" I ask, grabbing my phone off my pillow. We take a couple silly photos but the one of us kissing, is the one I post on Instagram.

Zayn hugs me, tightly. I don't want to let him go right now. I just want to be in his arms forever.

"We'll never get old." He laughs. I smile and kiss his shoulder.

"Jo, we're gonna get ya!" Zayn and I follow her around our front yard. She giggles as Zayn picks her up and swings her around.

A car pulls into our driveway. The person who steps out is a lady with brown hair. She's dressed nicely, like she's ready for a - oh now I get it. She's my dads new 'girlfriend'.

"Jasper, meet Lydia." Dad says. I frown and shake her hand. "This is my moody daughter, Jasper." He introduces her to me. Ugh, I don't like this lady.

"Nice to meet you Hun." She says, then turns to Jo, "I've got you some Jolly Ranchers." Lydia places three of the hard candys into Jo's little hand.

"We're going out again. See you later." Dad says, then they hop in our truck and drive away. I let out a sigh.

"You don't like Lydia do you?" Jo asks.

"I don't know. I don't want a new mom." I shrug.

"I think she's nice but I don't think I want a new mom either." She sighs, I know she's thinking about moms death. It was horrible because we were all in so much pain.

Zayn and I are back in my bedroom staring at each other. We both know we are bored and we have absolutely nothing to do. I start to sing, "Wanna hear your beating heart tonight, before the bleeding sun comes alive. Wanna make the best of what is left, hold tight. And hear my beating heart one last time, before daylight."

"In the canyon, underneath the trees. Behind the dark sky, you looked at me. I fell for you like autumn leaves. Never faded, evergreen." He sings the next part of the song. Which makes me think, did he fall for me the moment he saw me? Or is he just singing?

"I love you." I say, before placing a kiss on his lips. His arms hold me while he deepens our kiss. I can't help but smile. He takes off his shirt, leaving his chest bare, unless you count the tattoos.

"Do you have any?" He asks. I do have one, only one. My dad allowed me so I wouldn't get in trouble at all. I remove my shirt and face my back towards him. He looks at the birds flying at the top of my back. "Why'd you get this one?"

"My mom was always fond of birds. I decided to get it to have a piece of her." I let out a slight laugh before smiling at him.

"It's beautiful." Zayn examines me, now in my bra and jeans. I laugh and hit him playfully in the head with a pillow.
