Beating Heart

Zayns P.O.V

I stand outside of her bedroom window, ready to throw a pebble to get her attention. Then I hear their back door open. I quickly hide behind a tree. I hold my breath which, I can actually do for awhile.

"Who's out there?" Mr. Ward asks. I don't really like him. He doesn't trust me with his daughter, which I'm pretty mad about. Of course, I stay silent. He goes back inside. I breathe heavily.

After about twenty minutes, I decide to pick up a pebble and throw it.

Jasper's P.O.V

While on my phone, I hear something hit my window. I roll my eyes, playfully. I check to see no one there, but I know Zayn is here.

I turn around to see him, his red eyes turning darker, nearly black.

"I have a question," I whisper. "How old are you?" Since he's a vampire he could be like five hundred years old. You never know.

"Um, uh." He scratches his head.

"Tell me. I won't care." I shrug and cross my arms over my chest.

"Well I don't know." He whispers, his mouth inching closer to mine.

"You don't know," I roll my eyes. "Are your parents vampires too?"

"Nope." He whispers.

"How are you a vampire?" I say, taking a small step back.

"I was dying in the hospital," He whispers. "Turns out there are other vampires in this town than you'd think."

"What?" I ask, laying back on my bed.

"One of my nurses bit me to keep me alive. Now I can live forever unless someone kills me." He places his perfectly plump lips on mine.

"I love you." I say.

"Bye." He says, then in a blink of an eye he's gone.
