My Favorite Date

I had gotten out passed all the woods when I officially could finally take off my shoes and headed towards the barn that Louis and I had found when we were both about ten. I had just made it to the opening when I heard Louis mumbling and he was pacing meaning he was upset about something.

“Want to talk about it?” I asked as I leaned against the doorframe and Louis quickly whipped around.

“What are you doing here?” he sneered at me, “Come to rub it in my face how perfect your relationship with Liam is?”

“Well someone’s a tad bit jealous,” I stated and Louis just rolled his eyes.

He turned his back to me and I sighed lightly and I walked into the barn and touched his shoulder lightly.

“Lou don’t be like this,” I said.

“Like what?!” he asked angry, “You were supposed to wait for me Mel! You were supposed to wait for me to come back and win you over!”

“Excuse me?” I asked completely and utterly shocked at Louis’s outburst, “So I was just supposed to still be your puppet and wait like a good girl for you to come back into my life after you crushed my heart into tiny little pieces to take forever to be put back together?! Guess what Louis I did wait for you! For six freaking months I waited but you were perfectly okay with sleeping with one of my good friends for that matter! Don’t you dare try and pin this on me. This is mostly your fault!”

“My fault!” Louis exclaimed, “You’re the one who never visited!”

“You told me you never wanted me to visit!” I exclaimed and I saw Louis’s face change into recognition, “You specifically told me on the phone one day that you didn’t want me to visit because you were too busy for me. I then brought up the subject of taking a break you laughed and treated me like I was an idiot.”

Louis’s face softened and I just shook my head.

“We need to head back to the house,” I said, “Liam’s going to start to worry.”

“Mel,” Louis started and I could hear the regret in his voice.

“Come on Louis,” I said, “You’re going to get me in trouble with my mom because she already thinks I’m here to steal the spotlight from Lilly.”

Louis sighed and we headed back to the club and Louis got us a cab.

“So how many times am I going to have to prove to you that you should leave Liam and date me?” Louis asked, “Because I do miss us Melanie. I miss everything about us.”

“I’m not taking you back Louis,” I said looking out the window, “Ever.”

“You don’t mean that Mel,” Louis stated, “You will.”

“No I won’t,” I stated and wished that the cab driver would hurry up.

“Mel,” Louis said taking my hand and making me turn to look at him, “I’ve never stopped thinking about you. What I did a year ago was a huge mistake and I see that now. I can make you happier than Liam ever could.”

After Louis’s little speech I noticed we were at the house and was thankful.

“I used to think that Louis,” I replied, “but now I know that I don’t need you to make me happy.”

I then got out of the cab and let Louis pay for the drive and walked into the house to find that Liam and my father were talking in the living room. I walked past because I didn’t want to interrupt their conversation but my dad spoke up.

“Did you find Louis Melanie?” my dad asked.

“Yeah Dad,” I said standing in the doorway and he motioned for me to come into the room.

I smiled lightly at Liam who was smiling at me and I looked at my dad who was watching us intently.

“You know I didn’t get to talk to you at all today baby girl,” he said as I sat down next to Liam.

“I know Daddy,” I said, “I’m sorry.”

“I’m not mad sweetheart,” my dad chuckled knowing my exact train of thought, “I’m not your mother.”

I gave a small smile and I could tell Liam was looking confused at us.

“My mom and I don’t exactly see eye to eye on a lot of things,” I replied quietly and my dad just shook his head lightly.

“On a different note,” my dad said, “Liam and I have been talking.”

I tried not to put on my panic face but Liam noticed it right away and gave my leg an encouraging squeeze.

“He told me that you two met through one of your friends from work,” he said and I just smiled.

“Yeah you remember Tatiana right?” I asked and he nodded his head.

“Well a friend of Tatiana told her about his friend and she did the same and they set us up on a blind date,” I said, “Ever since then we’ve kind of just clicked.”

“Well I like him,” my dad said, “And I’ve stated that to him. Don’t break her heart Payne.

Louis still doesn’t come around me it’s been a year.”

“Sir yes sir,” Liam said and my dad just smiled.

“You two get to bed,” he said, “Because I know you’re going to get up and run tomorrow morning Mel.”

“You know me so well Daddy,” I said standing up and kissing his cheek, “Night. I love you.”

“Night sir,” Liam said and my dad just smiled.

“Liam call me George,” my dad said, “And good night you two. Mel you know you can get whatever you two need okay?”

“Thanks Dad,” I said as he kissed my forehead.

We then left my dad in the living room and we headed up to our room. Liam could tell I was a bit wore out from today so we didn’t talk until we got into our room and Liam shut the door.

“Want to talk about it?” he asked and I shook my head no.

“Just know that Louis is going to try and win me back at whatever cost and that my mom thinks I’m trying to steal Lilly’s spotlight,” I said grabbing my pjs and headed into the bathroom.

I quickly changed and threw my hair into a messy bun when I walked out to see Liam was putting on his pj pants.

“Ready for bed?” he asked and I nodded my head yawning.

“You want to come with me for a run?” I asked.

“We get up at five?” he asked and I nodded my head.

“Perfect,” I said as we crawled into bed.

“Good,” he said pulling me closer to him and he kissed my forehead, “Good night Mel.”

“Night Liam,” I sighed and let sleep over take me.
