Niall's POV
I wake up with a pounding headache, on my couch, and a couple of texts. I just groan and slowly get up so I am sitting. I rub my eyes and grab for my phone. I squint at the screen.
Liam: Hey I got a date with Nicole tomorrow night! So stop being a chump and fight for Clary.
Haz: You're right I should just let you mope…just talk to me when you want to get out and have fun
Barbara: Heyyy bby…I miss you…
I frown at the last one…god Barbara still thought we were a thing? She was delusional. Not to mention she wasn't Clary. I frown at the thought of it. I quickly delete her text. Its been like a whole year since I've talked to her and she still hasn't gotten the hint. I respond to Liam and Harry though.
To Haz: Thanks man…sorry if I was rude last night…
To Liam: What the hell? Since when have you liked Nicole? And she doesn't want me to fight…
I get up and throw away the empty bottles. I decide to go shower. I don't even know what I am going to do today. Maybe Harry wants to go to the gym with me…I have to bike and do rehab crap for my knee. Maybe I'll just go walk around town today. Hopefully the cool air will help me collect my head. It is already like 3pm. Man how much did I drink? I feel so hungry…I go to my fridge…nothing to eat. Starbucks run it is. I grab my keys and stupid ass crutches then head out. I get to the elevator then decide with my crutches its not worth it. My phone buzzes right when I get back into my place.
Liam: Dude…Nicole is nice. And I think she does but doesn't realize it…
Haz: Its fine. What are you doing tonight? The other lads are going out with ladies…
I laugh and respond. I told Harry to come over and bring food. I don't really know what to say to Liam. So I don't respond. I hope he has fun with Nicole though. Honestly I didn't think he would find someone after Sophia ripped his heart out. I think I understand why he hung out with Clary so much. He felt like his old self around her. Still didn't really give him the excuse to look at her like that though. I hear a knock at the door. I get up and answer the door. Harry comes in carrying Nando's, bless him. "Niall you really should be using your crutches…" I roll my eyes and sit down on the couch by him.
"Haz…you sound like my therapist. I'm just around the house anyways." I dig in and we sit there watching some rugby. We down the food and are sitting here yelling at the screen. I flashback to when Clary and I went to the Derby game for her birthday. That was fun…she was perfect. I wonder what she is doing right now.
Clary's POV
Ryan and I were busy screaming our lungs out at this rugby match. Penny was in her room attempting to come up with a lesson plan for tomorrow's class. Every so often I hear a thud on the wall that was shared by her bedroom and the main living space, telling us to quiet down. Which only made Ryan and I laugh. Nicole was on a date with Liam…and I was over there most of the day watching her fling clothes out of her closet. I was there to help her with an outfit…it took so freaking long. She decided on just skinny jeans and a nice sweater with a blazer and a pair of killer boots. Then I had to help with her hair and makeup. I felt like I was being tortured. I was putting away the clothes when Liam came over. I didn't get back to my place until like 6pm. Just in time for dinner and the rugby match. Ryan came over because well he could probably smell Penny's cooking and we have been waiting for this match all week. We yell again and this time a very cranky looking Penny bursts out of her room. Ryan and I whirl around then look at each other. This won't be good.
"Okay, Listen up! I have been working for like 2 hours and I can't even think with you two cave people yelling at this barbaric game!" Then she stomps off and slams her door. Ryan and I just start cracking up laughing.
"I believe we have angered the monster Clarissa" I just laugh even more. I hear a faint 'shut up' come from her room. I check the time it was only 9pm, which meant Nicole probably wasn't back. I also haven't gotten the rescue text which meant it was going well. I was really hoping it was, from what I have gathered, Liam really needed someone like Nicole in his life. Nicole was very down to earth and she didn't like to go out much. Which I think would do Liam some good. Sophia always wanted to go places…Liam vented to me that night we stayed up playing FIFA. He said that Sophia would never do this and thought it was stupid. The game ended and Penny came out to glare at us. She came and sat down by Ryan. Who kissed her head and cooed at her. That got him a punch. It was almost 10pm…there was pounding on the door. I bolt up to answer it. There stood Nicole grinning like she just won the jackpot. "Nicole come on in!" Penny comes rushing over.
"HOW'D THE DATE GO?! Was he as dreamy as I imagine?" I look over to see Ryan making faces at Penny behind her back. Nicole and I chuckle. I grab her hand and go to my room, leaving Penny and Ryan in the living room. Nicole wasn't super close with either of them quite yet. I sit down on the bed and look at her. "Okay spill everything Coley." She smiles and sits down beside me. I place my head in my hands looking at her to start talking.
"Clary it was wonderful! He was so nice and he let me rant about my book. He smiled and laughed when I told him about our college years and how you went wild child while I stayed in typing away. He was like a dream come true. I had to best time truly I did." I just launch myself at her, quickly wrapping my arms around her.
"Oh Nicole I am so happy! So when are you seeing him again?!" She just smiled and shrugged. I knew instantly she was playing hard to get. I laugh and shake my head at her.
"What? Come on this will give him some time to figure out if he wants to see me. He has my number. Now duty calls…well more like my publicist…I skipped my chapter deadline for this date…see you later sista!" I roll my eyes and wave while she leaves my room. That's when I realize I'm kind of the loner in the group now. Ryan has Penny…and now Nicole and Liam. Well shit…maybe I should go on a date? No I can't…why? Because Niall is always in the back of my mind.
Niall's POV
Harry and I were more than pissed at the game. Our team lost. So right now we were playing some FIFA on my Xbox, then a knock sounded on the door. "Expecting someone mate?"
"No." I say while getting up to see who is at the door. I peek through and see Liam. What the hell is he doing here? I open the door and smile, he smiles back and comes in. I follow him to my living room. Harry looks up and smiles. Liam sits down in between me and Harry. "Liam! What are you doing here? I thought you had a hot date?" Harry was smirked, obviously poking fun at Liam.
"Shut it Haz. The date ended and I headed over here. Guys it was amazing…best date of my life. She is so funny and kind." I just nod, not really interested in what is happening but I am happy to see Liam happy.
"So when are you seeing her again?" I ask. Liam looks down at his hands and shrugs. "You don't know?!" He sighs and runs his hand through his hair.
"I don't know if she wants me too! Should I text her now? Is that too desperate?" Harry and I look at each other. Harry speaks up first.
"I would text her or call her in a couple of days. Then it shows that you have been thinking about her but not too desperate sounding." Liam just nods. I give Harry the thumbs up.
"Okay I'll do that…see your playing some FIFA…mind if I joined?" Liam looks at us. So I respond
"Not at all Payno…grab a controller." He just smiles and grabs one. We do a round robin sort of thing. It was a pretty fun night. They didn't end up leaving until 1am. It was good having them around. I go upstairs and flop down on my bed. I miss her. This apartment is so lonely…I suppose Harry is in the same boat as me but he always liked being single. I just want her back…but I think it is quite obvious she wants nothing to do with me. And just like that my happy mood went south. I still remember that fight like it happened yesterday. I remember how angry she was…how stupid I sounded…how I should've kissed her instead of just going a rampage. I should've gone over the next day but I didn't. I lost her…and I don't think I could get her back. She is going to find a guy who can offer her more than I can…I just know it. Only a fool would let her go…so I guess that makes me a fool.
