Love Is In The Air
Clary's POV
Its been about a week since Niall 'surprised' me with my new job. Its Valentine's Day…yipee. Don't get me wrong I like today since I do have a smoking hot boyfriend. But Niall refuses to tell me what we are doing. Which left me in a grumpy mood this morning when he left my place. I got up and went to work. Ryan cheered me up somewhat. We've kind of gotten back to normal. Well normal enough that I don't want to kick his balls every time I saw him. Which was nice for both of us. I sit there drumming my fingers after sending another text to Niall.
Me: Pleeeeaaaasseeee just tell me!!! >:((
Nothing. Not a single response. It says he hasn't even read it! Ugh what the hell is he doing?! Ryan clears his throat. "Huh? What?" He just smiles and repeats what he was saying.
"Distracted Clarissa by V-Day and also the fact that Niall is your Valentine?" He smirks knowing this is on air and people can hear.
"Oh shut it Ryan! These people need to hear some music not my boring Valentine's Day plans. Duhh." We both laugh then play a love song. It was Valentine's Day which was either love songs or songs about being single or lonely. Which was kind of depressing so we stuck to mostly love songs.
"But seriously what are you doing tonight?" I look at Ryan and scrunch up my face at his question. Which got me a deep chuckle. "Hasn't told ya huh? It’s a miracle you haven't blown up yet."
"Hey! I can handle a surprise…kind of. Ry its really bothering me! I have no idea what to expect! He said to wear comfy clothes. That’s it! Like what the hell am I supposed to do with that?!" I was flailing my arms again just like how I did when Nicole stopped by for lunch asking what my V-Day plans were.
"Well one would guess that you should wear comfy clothes." I punched him after that sassy remark.
"I know that you noob." We laughed and talked until it was time for us to head back home. We park and head on up. I think he can tell I'm nervous about tonight.
"Hey it will be fine Wolf. See ya tomorrow." He went into his apartment and I went into mine. Okay comfy yet cute clothes…I can do this. And about 15 minutes later I emerge out of my room with my new outfit. My phone buzzed so naturally I leapt at it like a tiger.
Niall: Leaving to get you. You better be hungry.
I hate him. I have no idea what is going on. And Penny isn't here. She's visiting her parents this weekend. So she left right after her work today. Nicole is probably off with Liam. And the other ones I know have plans somewhere romantic. And here I am in yoga pants. Ughh. I sit on my couch waiting to hear the buzz telling me that Niall is here. Finally I hear the blasted thing. I grab my purse and keys then head out the door. I take the elevator which takes so long since its really old. Sometimes I think it's just going to stop moving, trapping me in here to die. But I get to the main floor alive. He's wearing skinny jeans and converses. Then a flannel and a t-shirt underneath. God he looks so hot. "Hey princess." He quickly wraps his arms around me and kisses my lips. I slinked my arms around his neck. I felt his tongue swipe across my lips begging for me to open for him. So I did. Our tongues fought for dominance until I gave up and let him win. A little moan escaped from me which made him pull away and laugh. "C'mon there will be plenty of time for that later." He grabbed my hand and lead me out to his car. That's when I realized he was crutchless.
"Niall why aren't you wearing your crutches?" I looked at him before he pulled away.
"Because I don't have to anymore. Surprise!" Then he started to drive.
Niall's POV
Her face was priceless. I look over again and Clary is still staring at me with her jaw hanging open. Clearly she is at a loss for words while I try to stifle back my laughs bubbling up. Then she just punches me. So I swerve around just messing. "Niall James Horan I HATE YOU!"
"Well good thing I love you Clarissa Diana Wolf." She just snorts and crosses her arms. I notice she didn't say it back to me. Then I realize she has never really said it to me. At least not that I can remember. I stay silent for the rest of the ride. Thinking about us…and why she doesn't say it. What if she doesn't really love me? Finally we get to where we will be spending the night. It was this cabin on one of the lakes close to London. "Here we are." I hop out and unlock it. Clary comes in after me. "Niall you should have told me to bring a change of clothes!" What did she think I was stupid?
"I brought some already. Its in the bedroom." Then I go and show her where that is. I knew she loved cabins since she spent most of her childhood in Wisconsin. Suddenly I'm being pulled back and drug outside.
"Look. See how pretty it is when the sun sets. Look at all the colors in the sky and how the lake reflects it." Clary leans on the railing gazing out, playing with her dad's dogtags. I just look at her though. It’s the artist in her that makes her pay attention to every detail in the sky. I love how her eyes dance around, absorbing everything. Then I realize that I don't care if she hasn't said it back to me. I love her. And if she needs more time than I do to say it…then I can wait. But it still bothers me a bit. Just a teeny bit. Who wouldn't be bothered by that. I head inside to make some dinner. Pasta with red sauce, one of her favorite meals. Well it used to be. I stand that boiling the pasta when it hits me. Clary could be a totally different person than I remember. I look back and see that she is still staring off the deck at view. I quickly go back to my pot. I hear the door shut so I assume that Clary must have come back inside. "Whatcha cooking Ni?" I look back to see her sitting at the bar, swiveling the chair while watching me.
"Pasta--"
"With red sauce?!" She leaps out and pads over, hugging me. A huge wave of relief washed over me. She still loved pasta. Maybe she hasn't changed. I'm just overthinking…that has to be it. I smile weakly and nod. She backs off and looks at me.
"Are you alright Ni?" That's the million dollar question now isn't it? What the hell do I say? Do I just tell her what I am thinking and ruin our night? No I couldn’t do that…so I just nod and go back to cooking. I hear her sigh so I know she doesn't believe me. I'm waiting for the stream of questions but they never came. Which worried me. We eat and talk about everything really, except what is on my mind. Does she love me? I mean truly love me like I love her? We head out to the dock area and I set up a blanket to lay on so we could watch the stars. I notice her looking at me. "What Clary?"
"You're hiding something from me Horan and I don't like that. You seem bothered…did I do something to anger you?" Her voice is soft and delicate.
"No! No you could never do anything to make me mad baby. You should know that." I'm on my side now looking at her rather than the stars.
"Then why are you being so distant?" She is looking at me with those green eyes of hers. God this is so not how I planned things to go.

Sorry its been so long on updating for this story! I've been working on Superhuman...its almost done like 3-4 more chapters then I will be devoted to this one. :) Anyways I re-dyed my hair today and it looks awesome! Ah I love it. Yep well I hope everyone is having an awesome day, whether you are in school again or still on summer break! :) Love you guyss
