Alana's Outfit

Louis watched the beautiful blonde vixen nervously trace the rims of her coffee mug as she awaited his mother's arrival. Her sparkling blue eyes anxiously swept the crowded patio of the cafe once in a while, in hopes of a miracle. Louis laid down the glass of scotch on the surface of the table, patiently observing Alana from his position at the table by the window of the hotel bar, which was right opposite to the little cafe his mother had chosen.

More than half an hour had passed from the time his mother had given Alana and Louis intentionally waited to see how eager she was; how desperate she was for the fund his mother had promised to provide.

Louis could tell that she was losing hope as she kept checking her watch and texting someone; possibly that fiancé of hers Louis had found out about when he had gotten a background check done on her. Louis felt distaste at the thought of having slept with an engaged woman, regardless of the fact that he had been unaware. And yet, Louis was surprised when he realized that instead of being repulsed by this cheat, who had had him captivated from the beginning, he wanted to punch the face of the stupid fiancé of hers into bloody pulp.

Louis felt his hold tighten around the glass of amber liquid as he looked at the picture of her and that stupid fiancé kissing like a couple of hormonal teenagers. He knew it was time and motioned Ramon, the bulky body guard, to do his job.

Alana checked her watch for the umpteenth time and texted Miranda to let her know that Mrs. Poulston had not arrived yet. She could tell that she would be left hanging but she had hoped that Louis' mother would at least have the decency to inform her so. Then again she was a very busy lady and could've been held back due to various reasons.

Alana sighed and was about to give up but the sight of a shadow falling over her made her turn and look. It was a tall and well built African-American, wearing a charcoal black suit and dark shades to hide his eyes. Alana could tell that this man had something to do with Johannah Poulston even before he opened his mouth to speak.

"Ms. Morrison?" His deep voice rang, making a shiver run down her spine.

"Yes?" Alana's voice was shaky as she replied.

"I've been sent here on behalf of Mrs. Poulston. She is waiting in the hotel restaurant for you."

The man politely indicated towards the sky scraping luxury hotel on the opposite before continuing. "She apologizes for not being here in person to inform you that she would like to shift the location of the meeting to the restaurant, since the cafe is quite crowded and she does not want to be bothered with the fans while she is discussing business."

Alana nodded her head and looked around in realization that it was quite crowded. She stood up, grabbed her files and purse, and took out some notes to pay for her coffee before following the bulky man.

He escorted her all the way to the entrance before handing her over to another bulky man who showed her the rest of the way. Alana stared in awe at the beautiful lobby of the hotel. It was absolutely magnificent and took her breath away. It was the type of place, Alana believed, only royals were allowed to enter and even though she had been to a lot of high end places with Evan, she had never in her life been to a hotel this perfect.

Alana was so absorbed by her surroundings that she did not notice where she was being led until she saw the guard stop and almost collided into him. The body guard motioned her towards the table in front of her, before leaving, and her smile vanished instantly as her eyes set on the man she had been trying to avoid the entire time.

Alana's heart started beating rapidly in her rib cage as her palms started turning damp. Louis stood up from his chair, being ever the gentleman, and held out his hand for Alana to shake. But Alana only looked from Louis' hand to his face in panic, trying to formulate an escape plan. Her eyes darted for an exit around the room other than the one she had used.

"Don't even think about it!" Louis warned, replacing his unshaken hand back in his pocket as he realized what was going on in Alana's mind. She pursed her lips in annoyance before speaking.

"I was supposed to meet your mother. Not you."

"And you would've, if you had not gone behind my back and taken advantage of my mother's kindness by asking her for a donation, when you yourself owe me a million dollars!" Louis replied, surprisingly calm, making Alana gulp out of fear of what was to come. "So, unless you can write me a cheque for a million right now, I suggest you sit down so that we can discuss things further."

Alana felt the blood rush out of her face as she slid into one of the seats of the table. Louis took his seat and asked politely, "Now, what would you like to eat?"

Alana shook her head to let him know that she wasn't hungry but Louis was hearing none of it as he told her, "I don't want you pulling the fainting act on me, so we won't be discussing business until you order something to eat."

Alana could feel the anger building at being ordered around like a child as she grabbed the menu and scanned its contents in irritation. Louis enjoyed watching the little witch clench her jaw and read the menu. He discreetly motioned for the waiter to take the order.

"Smoked Salmon!" Alana declared and set down the menu, not bothering to see the rest of it.

"Very well!" The waiter jotted down and looked at Louis for his order. "And will Sir be having the usual?"

"Yes! Get us a bottle of red as well."

"Umm- I'll just have water, please. I don't drink." Alana informed.

"That's not what it looked like the first time we met." Louis commented, making Alana turn completely red.

"Water for the lady!" Louis informed the now curious waiter before dismissing him.

Alana straightened her shoulders, ready for battle and Louis almost smiled at the gesture. She watched him weighing her up by looking her up and down and despite her display of courage externally, she wanted to shrink up in a ball within.

"So, now that I've ordered....." Alana trailed off, for Louis to continue on.

"Lace." Louis replied and left Alana confused as his eyes devoured up the sight of her.

"I beg your pardon?"

"Lace suits you." Louis declared, drawing a frown from Alana. She looked down at her conventional black lace dress and looked back up at Louis.

"Umm- thank you?" She wasn't sure how this had anything to do with their business but she couldn't help but get a little boost from the small compliment. "So, about business, I-"

"Babe, you're not getting a word of business out of me until you're halfway through your dish."

What was it with this woman, Louis wondered. All he wanted to do was get her wined and dined before he dropped the big bombshell. Alana angrily looked away and fixed her gaze on a painting at the far corner of the room.

"Black lace. You'd look exquisite adorned only with black lace." Louis continued, managing to get the beautiful witch's attention back on himself. "If you were mine, I would've kept that wonderful body covered in lace and nothing else."

Alana's eyes grew wide as she gulped at his uncensored and bold appreciation of her body. But Louis was not done making her blush just yet as he continued, "Tell me, does that fiancé of yours appreciate what he has?"

Alana's entire body went rigid at the mention of Evan and she couldn't help but be reminded of all the pain and sufferings she had to go through to be with Evan.

"This is absolutely ridiculous, Louis! I'm leaving!" Alana made to get up but stopped when she heard his next words.

"I don't think that'll be a wise decision what with the shop going up for sales."

"What do you mean it's going up for sales?" Alana asked, sitting back down as fear settled over her heart.

"Hasn't your fiancé informed you yet?" Louis started with a smile, glad she was unaware of the stupid man's decisions. "He is planning on selling your little flower shop by the end of the month."
