Always Expect the Unexpected

Chapter 13

Harry’s POV

I felt horrible. Like my heart had been ripped out and stomped on. All I wanted was to curl up in a ball and die. I walked out of my flat slowly and walked to Niall’s place. Girls swarmed me the whole way there, and then when I got closer to Niall’s place they left me alone, probably noticing how glum I looked. I walked up to Niall’s door and knocked, hoping nobody was home. I was beginning to realize this was a stupid idea. Abbey opened the door, the big smile she had on her face had slowly faded.

“Hey Harry,” her voice was soft and soothing. I felt like I was a lost child, and she was the random stranger lady trying to help me. She stepped aside, I guess to make room for me to walk in, but I couldn’t move. I felt paralyzed. I stared at Niall, sitting on the couch, and then Abbey, standing there, watching me. I felt like their eye’s were needles, digging into my heart even more. I wanted to cry, but I didn’t have any tears left to cry. I felt dehydrated. “Harry, you can come in,” Abbey’s voice was softer, quieter than before. I slowly hobbled inside. I got about a foot inside before I collapsed to the floor and curled up into a ball. Some tears fought through, and all I could do was lie there making wailing noises and choking noises. Abbey was on her knees next to me, rubbing my back, and Niall was sitting next to me, waiting for me to calm down. All I could do was make dying noises. I felt like I actually was dying. After a while my crying stopped and I started hiccuping. Niall decided this was the perfect opportunity.

“Harry, man, what’s wrong?” he asked. He helped me up off of the floor and on to the couch. Abbey ran out of the room and got me some water. I gratefully took it and drank it.

I thought about what was wrong before answering. The first thing that came to mind was everything. Everything was wrong with me, nothing was right. I sighed and took a deep breath, slowly formulating my answer. “Where do I begin?” I asked. My voiced sounded like I was being choked. I also sounded nasally.

“At the beginning,” Niall’s voice soothed me. These two people were the most soothing people to listen to. Two different accents, two different tones, two perfect sounds. I laughed quietly to myself and then shook my head.

“I don’t know where it began,” I felt a lump in my throat. I fought back tears for a moment. “I guess a week ago, I should have noticed, but I just, I ignored it,” I wailed again. Abbey quickly wrapped her arms around me and hugged me tightly. I suddenly felt stronger. “It’s just, Sam. She got mad at me. I don’t know what I did,” I sighed. I felt tears coming again.

“Sam?” Abbey asked. “You mean, Sam with the black hair? Your girlfriend, Sam?”

I started crying again. “She meant so much to me! I was going to propose!” I sobbed. I was crying so hard I thought I was going to throw up. I felt like a woman.

“What happened, mate?” Niall asked. He put his hand on my back and looked at me. I was bent over my knees with my head in my hands, sobbing.

“Sam left me,” I sobbed. “She took her things and left! I don’t know what I did to set her off. I woke up and she was yelling at me. Then she left!” I was getting angry at myself. “Why didn’t I notice she was mad? What did I even do?” I leaned back on the couch and covered my face. All I wanted was some alcohol.

“Do you know where she went?” Niall asked. His accent was getting thick.

“No, I have no idea! She packed her bags and walked out!” I sobbed. I felt Abbey get up from the couch and I looked up to see her run in the other room.

“Hey, Harry, calm down. Take a deep breath,” Niall’s voice sounded distant. My breathing sounded raspy, like something was in my lungs. I got quiet and calm. Niall patted my back, and Abbey walked back in with her phone to her ear.

“Hey Sam, it’s Abbey!” her voice sounded happy, but her face was completely serious. I was almost scared. “Oh well, yeah, I forgot about that. Anyway, I wanted to ask, what are you and Harry doing right now?” Niall and I both exchanged a look, and when I looked back up at Abbey she rolled her eyes. “What? Where are you then?” She was silent for a moment, and then her jaw dropped. She covered her mouth with her hand and went pale. “What? Why?” she asked. She was genuinely shocked. “Okay, okay, I understand where you’re coming from. Why don’t you come visit Niall and I with him and then we’ll talk about this. I just don’t think this is,” she was cut off by the other line. “Sam, just listen. I don’t think this is right. Harry loves you, a lot. Why would you do this to him?” she stared blankly at the wall behind Niall and I. “Sam, no, just come to my place,” she sighed, and then I heard baby Liam crying in the kitchen. Niall got up and ran to get him. “Sam, just freaking listen to me,” Abbey’s voice was tense, not as soothing as it was before. “Come here, now, so I can talk to you face to face,” she was silent for a moment. “Yeah, whatever, bye,” she snapped, hanging up her phone. She gave me an apologetic look. I felt like the news wasn’t good.

Abbey’s POV

I sat down on the couch with Harry again. I grabbed his hand and rubbed it. “Sam’s with Ed right now,” I sighed. Harry moaned like he was in pain. “Listen, I love Sam and all, and she was a golden person, but now, I can see you deserve better, Harry,” I sighed, rubbing his back. Niall brought baby Liam in and walked past us, and I felt Harry sob quietly next to me. Niall went to our room and dropped baby Liam off before joining us again.

“Harry, take a deep breath again. Stop crying. Look at me!” Niall demanded, his voice loud but soft. Harry obeyed and took a deep breath. All of his crying ceased. He looked like a lost puppy. “That’s better. Now, how about you stay here for a moment while I go get something,” Niall sighed, standing up and rushing off to the kitchen. Harry turned to me.

“I just don’t know what happened,” he sighed, leaning towards me. I hugged him and rubbed the back of his head. “She was happy one minute, and then yelling and gone the next. I was afraid she would go off to Ed. He seems like so much of a better guy than I do,” Harry sighed.

“Hey, hey. Harry, Ed is not any better than you. He’s no good, and I’m sure Sam will realize that. You need to realize that people make mistakes, though, alright Harry?” I asked, not sure where this was going.

“Okay,” Harry sniffed, sitting up. Even by the way his eyes had lightened up, I knew whatever I had just said made him feel so much better.

Niall rushed in with three glasses filled with a brown liquid. He handed each of us one. “To better times!” Niall declared holding his glass up. He looked ridiculous, so Harry and I giggled and down our drinks, which turned out to be whiskey. Harry relaxed a bit and a small smile was now forming on his mouth as Niall refilled his glass with what appeared to be vodka. Harry downed it in a gulp before burping and laughing.

“Wow, I never knew Harry was a light weight...” I joked. Harry rolled his eyes at me and then grinned.

“I feel so much better. Let’s invite everyone but Sam!” he declared, pulling out his phone. I looked over his shoulder and he was sending out a mass text message to everyone in his phone except Sam and Ed. I laughed as he pressed send and then “whooped” and stood up to stretch. He stumbled sideways into Niall, who was taking a drink of vodka. I laughed at them when there was a knock at the door. I ran over and opened it. Louis and Liam were there, grinning at us.

“Ready to party?” I asked. They glanced over my shoulder to Harry and Niall, who were on the floor cracking up laughing, and nodded. I moved out of the way for them to come in. I ran to the kitchen and grabbed some wine coolers and a few other drinks and handed them out to the huge amount of people that were already there. I laughed as people enthusiastically took the drinks and ran off to dance with each other. I felt a hand on my should, so I turned around to see Niall. I grinned. “Harry needs to get drunk at our house more often,” I joked.

“Oh, yeah, totally,” Niall rolled his eyes, grinning. “C’mon, I wanna show you something,” he grabbed my hand, pulling on it slightly.

“Alright,” I obeyed, following him into the other room. We were in our room, standing over our son, who was trying to get up on his knees to crawl over to us. I squealed and giggled and he got himself up a little, and them fell back over. He looked puzzled for a moment before trying to do it. Niall laughed at me before pulling me close and kissing the side of my head. We watched him for a while before he fell back asleep. We went out to the party again and found that everyone had started a game of spin the bottle. This seemed to be a popular game with this particular group. I rolled my eyes. “Why don’t you guys do anything fun? Like, truth or dare, or strip poker?” I asked.

“Or the ten finger game!” Niall suggested. Everyone was looking at us. Suddenly everyone was saying “ten finger game!” and it turned into a chant. Niall and I grabbed some more vodka and filled all of the shot glasses we had, and handed them out so everyone had one. We all sat in a circle in the living room with no fingers up.

“I’ll start,” I grinned. “I have never kissed someone of the same sex,” I laughed. Everyone put one finger up. I shook my head, laughing, as everyone but me took a shot. It was Harry’s turn. He thought for a moment.

“I have never... I have never laughed so hard while drinking milk that it shot out of my nose!” he snorted, and about 10 people put up and finger and took a shot, including me. This game would get very fun very fast. After everyone got a chance to say something, we already had about half of the group out. They would still take a shot if they did something, but they couldn’t be a contributor to the conversation. I had up 5 fingers, and Niall had up 8, Harry was out. Niall and I laughed at each other, him laughing more at me, and we teased each other and said we needed to be more adventurous. It was Niall’s turn.

“I have never scratched up someones back for any reason,” he laughed, shooting a glance at me. I blushed and put up my 6th finger, taking my 6th shot of vodka. I blushed a little when I realized I was the only one who took a shot. It was now my turn. “Uh, I have never...” I thought for a moment. “I have never broken anything in my kitchen because I was mad,” I shot a glance at Niall as he and all of the other guys left put up a finger and took a shot, and everyone outside of the circle took a shot. I nodded my head in approval. Finally, Niall got out in 2 more turns, and I ended up being the last person left. I blushed as Niall poked me and called me innocent. He was very drunk now, and I was only barely passed buzzed. “Okay!” I giggled. “Let’s play some truth or dare!” I moved myself into Niall’s lap while everyone reformed out circle, only it was more laid back. Everyone looked at each other, not sure how to start. Niall started.

“Harry, truth or dare?” he asked.

“Uh, I pick dare!” Harry grinned.

Niall looked from Harry to Louis and back before grinning. “Harry, I dare you to kiss Louis!”

Harry looked at Louis and stumbled over to him. “With tongue?” Harry raised an eyebrow.

“Yes, with tongue!” everyone yelled, even me. Harry grinned and kissed Louis for a few seconds before sitting back down in his spot.

“Alright, Lou, truth or dare?” Harry asked Louis.

“Uh, truth, Hazza,” Louis grinned.

“Tell the truth Lou, on a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the best, how good of a kisser am I?” Harry laughed.

“Oh, Haz, you deserve a 12!” Louis grinned. All of the girls, save me, made excited little cheers, and Harry blushed.

“Oh, Lou, you’re too kind,” Harry joked. Louis grinned and looked at one of the girl.

“Eh, you, Amanda, truth or dare!” he more demanded than asked.

“Uh, dare!” Amanda grinned.

“Alright, I dare you to kiss Harry and rate his kissing,” Louis grinned at Harry.

“Tongue, or..?” Amanda asked.

“With tongue, naturally,” Louis laughed as is that was a stupid question.

The Amanda girl wobbled over to Harry and he pulled her into his lap and started kissing her. Before long she was sucked into Harry, just as I suspected, and he had to push her off a little. “Uh, I’d say a 12 as well, Lou,” she grinned. She sat back down next to the guy she was by, who leaned over and whispered in hr ear. She whispered something back and had an “I’m not so sure,” look on her face. She pointed to Liam. “Truth or dare, Mr. Payne,” she narrowed her eyes.

“Truth,” he grinned, with Danielle in his lap.

“Tell the truth, what about Danielle do you like the most?” she asked.

Liam didn’t even hesitate.”There’s nothing I don’t like about her, but I would say her personality is definitely the best part of her.”

Everyone clapped like he won an award, and as the game went on, everyone’s buzz was beginning to die, so I got up and grabbed a bunch of drinks and handed them out again before I curled up on the couch with Niall and we started a round of strip poker. Of course, I didn’t play, but I made sure no one got completely naked. Niall and I were laughing with each other on the couch when everyone began leaving to go home around 3 in the morning, so when they left, it was Niall, Harry, and I. Harry was passed out, so Niall and I carried him to the guest bedroom and tucked him into the bed before we went off to our room and tended to our baby before we went to sleep ourselves. It was the first time we didn’t have sex right after drinking like that.

When I woke up I fed baby Liam and then read the note Niall left me.

Went home with Harry. He said something about a friend of Sam’s coming to his house today. Come over when you wake up.

I shrugged and picked up baby Liam and my phone and walked to Harry’s place. When I got there I saw Sam’s old friend that had ended up in the hospital several times due to attempt’s of suicide: Sandra. She smiled sheepishly at me and had her arms covered so the boys couldn’t see her arms.

“Hi, Sandra,” I sighed. “How are you?” I asked.

Sandra’s eyes sparkled as she realized who I was. “Oh, hi Abbey! I’m great. Uh, is Sam here?” she asked. She eyed Niall and Harry in disgust.

I shook my head. “No, I’m not sure where she is. I’ll call her for you, though, give me a moment,” I sighed, again. I pulled out my phone and dialed Sam’s number, and she picked up right away.

“What do you want, Abbey?” she snapped. I heard Ed speaking in the background.

“Sam, I was calling to let you know that Sandra is here at Harry’s flat, and you need to come and tend to your guest. And please, be more responsible,” I shook my head before rubbing my temples and hanging up on her. I had a major hangover and I didn’t want to deal with these things. I smiled at Sandra and took in how much she had changed. She used to be kind of chubby, and now she was almost anorexic skinny, and she was paler than paper. She used to have colorful hair, but now it was black and emo-style cut. She had all kinds of piercings in her face and ears, but she was still gorgeous as ever. I still didn’t like her though. I noticed her eyes for once, which were a piercing ice blue color, which was brought out by her skin tone. I was honestly jealous of her. I smiled at her again before sitting on the couch, waiting for something to happen. Harry smiled at her and walked with her to the couch and Niall sat next to me, Harry next to Niall, and Sandra on he very outside of the couch. I grabbed Niall’s hand while holding baby Liam in my other arm. He was cooing away and being adorable, as always.

“When did you have a baby?” Sandra asked me quietly. I had forgotten how shy she was.

“Uh, a few weeks ago, actually,” I chuckled lightly before holding him out to her. “You wanna hold him? His name is Liam,” I smiled.

“Yeah, totally,” she smiled. When she touched him, she acted like he was the most fragile thing in the world. “He’s so cute,” she grinned, smiling up at me.

“Thank you,” I smiled back at her. After a while, Sam walked in looking winded. She smiled at Sandra holding Liam, and then Ed walked in behind her. I glanced over at Harry, who looked completely broken.

“Hi, Sandra. We had a, uhm, change of plans. I’m sorry it’s so last minute, but will you come with me and Ed, and uh, bring your bags,” Sam’s eyes darted to everyone on the couch, especially Harry.

“Yeah, sure,” Sandra half smiled, handing Harry the baby before she got up. Harry pre-occupied himself with the baby while Sam was still here. Niall and I helped Sandra with her bags, all the way out to Ed’s limo. They drove away as Niall and I went back to tend to Harry again. When we came to his apartment he looked at me with hopeful eyes.

“So... is Sam still going to your wedding?” he asked me.

I shrugged. “I don’t know what I’ll do if she doesn’t. She’s the Maid of Honor,” I sat down on the couch with Harry and gave him a hug. “We’ll see when we get there,” I sighed.

Day before the wedding

Niall’s POV

I walked down the steps at the hotel, trying to adjust my tie before I got to the limo. When I got in, Harry, Liam, Louis, and Zayn were sitting there with champagne.

“Yeah, Niall! Congrats!” they all cheered. They popped the champagne and we each downed a glass while we were riding down to the old cathedral that Ed had planned my wedding at. It was beautiful, and very close to my old house with my dad. We picked up Paul and were on our way to the rehearsal dinner.

“Oh, god. Niall, sit still for a moment,” Zayn groaned. He leaned forward and started messing with my hair for a moment. After a few minutes he acted like every little move I made would ruin my hair completely. I grinned at him and shook my head from side to side, making my hair go crazy. He almost punched me, and he fixed it quickly. “Don’t ever do that again, Niall,” Zayn chuckled. Everyone laughed at the expression on his face.

Paul clapped his hand on my back. “You nervous, kid?” he asked.

I shook my head, then nodded it. “I... I am. But, it’s a good kind of nervous,” I laughed awkwardly.

All of them groaned. “Don’t be nervous yet! It’s the rehearsal dinner!” Liam shook his head.

I shrugged. “Hey, I’m scared she wont like me. She’ll have second thoughts, and just leave me,” I felt tears in my eyes just thinking about it.

“Niall, stop crying,” Harry grumbled. “You’ll ruin your pretty face.”

I frowned. “I’m sorry, guys. I’ll stop.”

After a few more minutes of silence, we pulled up to the church and walked in. There were bodyguards surrounding the place. I walked into the banquet hall and saw everyone sitting there. My family, Abbey’s family, both of our friends combined. I was overrun with nervousness. I was about to turn around and walk back out when I ran directly into Abbey’s little sister, Payton.

“Niall!” she giggled. Her face lit up.

“Hey there, Pooh Bear!” I grinned, leaning down to lift her up and hug her. She calmed me down quite a bit.

“I missed you!” she cried into my should. She squirmed a bit, so I set her down.

“I missed you too!” I smiled at her. “Where’s your Mom?” I asked, looking around behind her to see someone I wanted to talk to.

Payton shrugged. “I dunno. Her and Abbey disappeared a long time ago.”

I nodded my head. “Do you wanna meet my family, Payton?” I asked her.

She giggled uncontrollably and clapped her hands. “Yes, I do!” she exclaimed.

“Alright,” I chuckled. I grabbed her hand and weaved through the crowd of people before I found my Mom, step Dad, step Mom, and Dad all standing together talking. I picked up Payton and put her on my shoulders before actually talking to them. She squealed right on time, which surprised them and made them whip around.

“Nialler!” they all yelled in unison.

“Hello!” I sang to them. I pulled Payton down to the ground before I gave them all hugs. “This is going to be my sister-in-law starting tomorrow,” I grinned. “Her name is Payton,” I backed up slightly so everyone could get acquainted. I looked around while they were talking and spaced out slightly. I felt extremely uncomfortable because there were so many people there. I was beginning to feel nauseas. I frowned at my family. “Uh, I’ll.. I gotta go somewhere else,” I mumbled.

“Are you alright, Niall?” my Dad asked.

I nodded my head. “Yeah, just peachy,” I sighed, walking away to a less full room. It was virtually empty in the church itself. People were setting up decorations for tomorrow in there. I sat in one of the pews and took a deep breath while rubbing my temples. I heard a voice behind me, so I turned around. It was Abbey’s Mom.

“Hey, Niall?” she asked.

“Yes ma’am,” I smiled at her. I felt really sick.

“Are you okay? You don’t look so good,” she frowned.

I shrugged. “I’m claustrophobic. Just too many people.”

She smiled at me sympathetically. “I understand. I came out here to set up the decorations because I have really bad anxiety,” she laughed slightly.

I chuckled. “Well then, I guess we’ll get along just fine.”

She smiled at me. “Yeah. Do you want to come over and help set up the other banquet room for tomorrow?”

I shrugged. “Sure,” and I followed her into the other room.

Abbey’s POV

I stared at myself in the mirror. I looked the same as I did five minutes ago, but I sure didn’t feel the same. I almost threw up in the toilet because I was so nervous, and the only person that I would be able to talk to about would be my Mom, because Sam ditched me. I pounded my fists on the sink and then splashed my face with water. I completely washed all of my make up off before reapplying it. Just when I applied a light layer of lip gloss a woman walked into the bathroom. I pulled a hair brush out of my bag and started brushing through my hair, an activity that always calmed me down.

“Are you Abbey?” she asked me. I turned around and nodded at her. I saw how pretty she was and blushed.

“Who are you?” I asked. I continued brushing my hair.

“I’m Niall’s mom,” she smiled at me through the mirror.

I nodded my head. “I can’t believe I’ve never met you, and I’m marrying your son tomorrow,” I frowned at her. I felt a wave of nausea flow over me again. I was too nervous.

She giggled like a young girl, and her face wrinkled up. “I trust Niall’s judgment, dear. You look like a lovely girl. I’ve seen your guy’s pictures on Twitter. I have to say, I don’t like some of them, but hey, I’m a Mom,” she chuckled. “Anyway, I wanted to ask. Was that little girl, Payton, really your sister?”

I laughed a little. “You met Payton? Yeah, she is,” I grinned. “She loves Niall so much.”

Niall’s Mom smiled. “Yeah, who doesn’t? He’s such a good boy,” she looked like she was over come with nostalgia. I gave her a few moments before speaking.

“Well, it was nice meeting you, Mrs., eh, Horan, I guess?” I asked.

“Just call me Maura, or Mrs. Gallagher. I remarried,” she smiled softly.

“Okay, Maura. It was great meeting you. I think the rehearsal dinner is about to start,” I waved at her before walking out of the bathroom to the banquet hall to the large table set up for the Bride and groom and their close family. My seat was right next to Niall’s, with my Mom on my immediate right. I was facing everyone in the room. I noticed everyone was filling in their seats, but my Mom and Niall where no where to be seen. I shot Niall a quick text, telling him to hurry. I fixed my yellow sun dress before relaxing in my chair. As soon as everyone was finally seated, including Niall and my Mother, the dinner started. We started with our announcements, which Niall and I both had to make.

“Okay, so our only announcements are that the wedding is tomorrow, here, at 19:00, in the banquet hall over there,” Niall pointed in the direction of the room, and then handed me the mic.

I rolled my eyes. “Actually, we don’t meet in there. You all need to be in the main church area by 18:30, so we can get started on time. Niall doesn’t know what he’s talking about. The next announcement is that we prefer you don’t bring anything but your gorgeous faces,” I smiled. “That is all,” I giggled. Niall snatched the mic from me and gave everyone a playful grin.

“Gifts will be accepted, though. Just remember that!” he laughed before turning off the mic and putting it on the stand. We sat back down and were getting served food and things. Finally, it was time for the toasts and then we could all go back to our hotels and enjoy ourselves until tomorrow. After about 20 toasts we all hugged and kissed and left. I got in the limo with the girls (My Mom, Me, and Sam), and we all went driving. We stopped in front of a house.

“Uh, why are we stopped here?” I asked, mainly my Mom. Sam was sitting as far from us as possible, on the phone with her friend Sandra. My Mom shrugged, just when my door was opened.

“Hello! Abbey, c’mon!” Niall was holding the door opened. I stared at him for a moment before turning to my Mom, who was grinning.

“Uh, Mom, can you bring my..” I started.

“I’m bringing your dress tomorrow. Don’t worry. Have fun!” she interrupted me.

I got out of the limo and closed the door, and the driver drove off. Niall gave me a tight hug and kissed me on my forehead. “Hello, love. This is my mother’s house,” he smiled sweetly at me. I stood on my tiptoes and kissed him lightly.

“Oh, nice,” I chuckled. I pulled on his tie and then backed away from him. “Let’s go inside,” I grinned.

“Uh, okay,” he breathed. He stood there for a moment before leading me inside. We walked in to a big family room. There were couches and chairs and a TV. Everything looked so neat, even compared to our apartment. “Mom!” he called out. “Abbey’s here!” He pushed me over to the love seat and made me sit with him. His Mom came in and sat on the chair across from us and smiled.

“Hello Abbey,” she smiled. Her face wrinkled up again. Her voice was really sweet.

“Hello, Maura,” I said politely. “May I ask why I’m here?” I looked from her to Niall, and back.

Niall answered before she did. “I wanted to spend time with you before tomorrow, since I wont see you after we wake up, and since I’ve been staying here, I wanted you to come and meet my Mum and get to know her.”

Both of them nodded their heads. “Oh, cool,” I smiled sweetly. I felt kind of uncomfortable. Niall squeezed my hand and his Mom got up and turned the TV on, just because she wanted to. Then she turned to me.

“I have a whole list of questions to ask you,” she smiled a little. “Niall printed them out for me. He told me to ask you them so I could get to know you better. I’ll answer them too, if you want me to,” she blushed a little. She seemed shy.

“Okay!” I grinned, already excited.

“Okay, what is your FULL name?” she asked me, reading the first question.

“Abigail Marie Heartman,” I smiled, letting it roll off my tongue for once. I had always hated my name, but now that it was going to change I had learned to love it.

“How old are you?” she asked me.

“I’m 18, but I’ll be turning 19 next month,” I grinned. I couldn’t believe it was only February.

“What is your birthday?” she asked me.

“March 15!” I sang.

“What star sign does that make you?” she asked.

“Pieces,” I grinned.

“What’s your favorite color?” she asked.

“Green!” Niall and I answered together. She made a face at us and then laughed.

“What is your lucky number?” she asked.

“Well, I know this is backwards, but my lucky number is 13!” I blushed.

She made a face again, but she looked more confused than anything. “Okay, do you have any pets?” she asked.

“Yes. I had a cat named Gef. I had to leave him behind though,” I frowned. I loved Gef.

“Aw, I’m sorry. How tall are you?” she asked.

“I’m 5 feet, 4 inches and a half,” I giggled. I was short.

She smiled. “What talents do you have?” she asked.

“Being me, I guess,” I grinned again. Niall made a sound next to me, and I looked at him.

“She is a pretty good singer,” he pouted. I wanted to kiss him.

“No, I’m not,” I frowned. I didn’t feel like singing to his Mom. I wouldn’t even know what to do.

For the rest of the night until 22:00 I was asked questions. She eventually told me there were 800 questions, and I just stared at her and laughed. I asked her some questions and then Niall and I retreated to the guest room to sleep. I looked over at him while I was getting dressed.

“It’s nice being here without the baby,” I sighed. “I miss him, but at least it’s quiet,” I laughed quietly. I sat on the bed and he wrapped his arms around me.

“I miss him, too. I wish we could’ve brought him with us,” he sighed. He kissed my neck lightly. I shivered.

“Me too. Let’s get some sleep,” I yawned. He chuckled and pulled me into the bed with him and we went to sleep together.
