Mistreated

Valentine

Friday February 14th 2014

Harry’s POV:

I haven’t spoken more than five words a day to my mother, Iris and I had a few more disagreements, Niall is still perfect as fuck, and everyone is still planning to go to Andrew’s party tomorrow. On top of all that, I still haven’t told Iris about my secret. All I can do is push all these thoughts out of my mind and promise myself to tell her tomorrow because right now I have other things to think about.

Today is Valentine’s Day. Iris told me she didn’t want me to do anything super special for her like most girlfriends expect. She said she believes Valentine’s Day is just a regular day, and people shouldn’t choose one day a year to celebrate their love when they could celebrate every day. I couldn’t help but agree with her, for once this week.

I shook off that thought and started to change into the outfit Perrie and I had picked out when we went shopping yesterday. I have to say: I’ve been enjoying wearing these fancy clothes, especially because I know I look good in them.

I tugged my black button up shirt on and buttoned all buttons except the top two buttons, being sure to show off part of my chest which doesn’t really matter since the shirt is slightly see-through. I slid my black skinny jeans up and slightly tucked my shirt into them before buttoning and zipping them. I slid a brown belt through the belt loops and buckled it up to hold my pants in place. I placed on my black ankle boots before pulling on a black blazer.

I walked into the bathroom and pulled out a container of gel I owned and placed some on my hands. I rubbed my hands together before running my fingers through my bangs, placing them into a quiff and leaving the rest of my hair in its mop of curls. I went back in my room and put my phone and wallet into my pockets after placing a black scarf with tiny white polka dots loosely around my neck. I was pretty impressed by the outfit, and I know Iris will love it.

My mum wasn’t home which means she’s probably with fucking Robin. At least it was easy to leave since I didn’t have to let her know where I was going and shit. I walked into Gemma’s room and watched her hold two different dresses against her as she examined herself in the mirror.

“The blue one,” I pointed to it. “You look good in blue.”

“Are you sure?” she asked as she held the blue dress against her again.

“Yes,” I chuckled.

She turned around and smiled at me, “Thanks Baby Bro. You look dashing.”

“I know,” I shrugged, chuckling as I did so. “Have fun on your date with Gavin. I still have to meet him.”

“So you’ll give him a chance, but not Robin?” she raised her brows.

I sighed, “I’m not talking about this right now.”

“Sorry,” she half lied. “Tell Iris I said ‘hi’.”

“I will,” I nodded and gave her a short hug. “Later Sis.”

“Bye Baby Bro!” she yelled out to as I walked away.

Ding dong! I rang Iris’s doorbell and waited for her at the door. I bounced in my stance, trying to shake off the nerves. When the door flew open, I stood in shock as I admired her beauty.

She wore a black crop top/tank top thing that showed off her bare, petite stomach. She wore a black skirt with a red galaxy and blue stars on it. The skirt fell to her knees in the front and to her ankles in the back. Covering her feet were black high heels that had a hint of red on the heels. Her hair was placed into a high ponytail and curled at the ends. She had on a bit of makeup: silver glittery eye shadow, mascara, eyeliner, and blush; or maybe she was just blushing. She held a black clutch in her hands, and I noticed her nails were painted red. She looked stunning.

“Is it too much?” she bit her lip.

I shook my head with a dimple flashing smile, “No. You look ravishing, as always.”

“Well I’m really liking your outfit too,” she smiled and kissed my lips.

“Are you wearing lipstick?” I asked since I tasted something on her lips.

She closed her front door behind her and locked it, “It’s lip gloss, and I made sure it was a light color so no one would notice if it got on you.”

“Sneaky,” I chuckled as I pressed my hand to her back, guiding her to the passenger side of the car. I opened her door for her and allowed her to get in before I closed it and walked over to my side. Then we headed to a fancy restaurant.

“It’s so nice, just like the first one we went to,” Iris smiled her captivating smile that makes my heart beat faster. “Maybe this time we shouldn't fuck with the waitress.”

I chuckled, “You’re right, we probably shouldn’t get anyone in trouble today.”

“How many?” the hostess asked.

“We actually have a reservation under Styles,” I informed her.

“Oh, I see,” she smiled at the list in that was on the podium. “Styles, party of two?” I nodded. “Right this way,” she smiled brightly at Iris and led us to the elevator in the restaurant.

Iris furrowed her brows at the elevator and let out a small giggle when she looked at my huge grin. I didn’t answer her quizzical look, only intertwining our fingers as we stepped into the elevator with the hostess. I kept my stare at the door, trying not to give away that there’s a surprise waiting for her, even though I’m sure she already knows something pretty awesome is waiting for her behind these doors.

Ding! The elevator stopped on the top floor.

“Okay, we’re sending our best waitress up here to serve you in a few minutes,” the hostess informed us. “Enjoy.”

The doors open to reveal the roof of the restaurant decorated with scattered red rose petals and one table for two with lit candles sitting in the center of it. I know Iris has a thing for views, so I pulled a few strings for her to be able to see the whole town on the roof of this tall restaurant.

“Wow, Harry,” she gasped and gripped my hand tighter. “It’s amazing. How are you able to afford this?”

“Louis’s dad owns the restaurant,” I pulled her hand to my lips and placed a small kiss onto it. “He let me do this with no charge.”

“That’s so cool. Thank you,” she released my hand so she could wrap her arms around my neck and kiss me.

I pulled away and gazed into her eyes, “Anything for you, Love.”

We walked over to the edge of the roof and looked down at the lit up city. I snaked my arms around her waist and placed my chin onto her shoulder before swaying us side-to-side. We stayed like that for a good five minutes until we heard the elevator ding.

“I guess we should go order,” I chuckled.

“That’s probably a good idea,” she joked.

“You’ve got to be kidding me,” a female voice growled. We turned around to find Sally…Sandra…what’s her face standing by our table, glaring over at us. Well, this is awkward.

Iris laughed, “What’s up, Samantha?”

“It’s Sasha,” she rolled her eyes. “I refuse to serve you guys. You got me fired from my old job.”

I raised a brow at her, “You did that yourself, and you better serve us because I know the owner of the restaurant.”

“What would you like then? Iced tea, tea with no ice, Pepsi, or maybe you’d like my foot up your ass,” she snapped and walked back over to the elevator and slammed her hand against the button.

“All of those except the foot up my ass, please,” I smirked. “Oh, and a lemonade.” Iris snickered beside me, trying to hide her smile with the palm of her hand. We busted into laughter after Sasha disappeared behind the elevator doors.

“So much for no ‘Fuck with the Waitress’,” Iris giggled.

I playfully rolled my eyes, “Screw that. This Bitch is gonna wish I really am a Moron.”

Sasha actually wound up switching tables with a different waitress, which was fine by Iris and me. Iris and I ordered our food and drinks from the waitress and talked for the longest time. As always, we talked about the most random shit. She’s the one who really does the talking, and I sit there taking in every word as if I were memorizing lyrics.

Iris was in the middle of telling me another story about her and Nialler’s adventures as my mind slowly began to tune her out with thoughts. I couldn’t help but think about how I’m no good for her. What I did could affect my future in every way, and I’m scared that’ll mean I can’t provide her a future. She deserves so much better than me, and maybe that’s Niall. I don’t want to think this way, but the thoughts push into my mind just as fast as I push them out.

“Are you okay?” Iris furrowed her brows as she placed her hand on mine.

“Uh, yeah,” I nodded. “What were you saying?”

She sighed, “It’s not like you to space out. Tell me what’s wrong.”

Everything is wrong. My life is wrong. “Niall,” I told her part of the truth. “I guess I’m bummed I didn’t get to do the things he did with you. He was the first to take you to the beach, the first to take you bowling, and the first to take you to the ice skating rink. I wish it was me.”

“We can do that now,” she shrugged with a wide smile plastered to her beautiful face.

“What?” What did I just get myself into?

“I’m pretty sure a tall guy on ice skates is one of the dangers here,” I teased as we tugged the ice skates onto our feet. There are tons of couples at the rink which isn’t surprising since it is Valentine’s Day.

“I live for danger,” she wiggled her eyebrows like the dork she is, making me chuckle. “Ready?”

I sighed and stood up, holding out my hand to her, “No.”

She laughed, “Don’t be such a baby.” She took my hand and guided me to the rink. She carefully stepped in first, holding the rail as she helped me step in behind her. She kept her hand in mine as she slowly glided forward on the ice. I followed her movements, surprising myself with being able to keep up with her. “You’re doing great, Babe,” she beamed.

I snickered, “Is it strange that I actually like this?”

“No,” she shook her head. I started moving faster, passing her and pulling her behind me. “We’re definitely doing this more often.”

“Deal,” I nodded. “I don’t know why Niall complained about this, it’s so easy.”

“That’s what I’m saying,” she laughed.

After ice skating, Iris and I went to the bowling alley. Of course, I had to make jokes like holding up two balls and saying, “Look at my balls.” She did the same but said, “Look at my boobs,” instead. We’re dorks. We bought sodas at the snack bar and rented a lane along with bowling shoes. Bowling with her was more fun than I could imagine.

We played for two hours, her beating me at all but one game. I think she let me win the one time I actually did win. I wasn’t doing so great, but it was a blast just doing silly trick shots, only to get a gutter ball and no points. Also, seeing her so happy as she played made the experience even better.

Last but not least, we went to the beach. It was obviously too dark and too cold to swim, so we walked hand-in-hand along the shore, me holding her heels in my other hand and her wearing my blazer to keep her warm. We talked more and more, this time with me listening. At one point, I started bellowing in song, so she let go of my hand and started dancing around. I ran after her and scooped her up, twirling her in circles as she held her head back to take in the movement. After I got dizzy, I decided it was time for us to sit down.

She sat down beside me, wrapping her arms around one of mine and placing her head onto my shoulder. I rested my head onto her’s and rubbed one of her arms with my free hand.

“I love being with you,” she sighed happily. “You just make life better.”

“I could say the same about you, Love,” I lifted my head from her’s and pulled my wallet out of my jeans. “I got you a gift.”

“Harry-“

I interrupted her by placing a kiss on her lips. “Shut up and accept the gift,” I chuckled. She nodded and allowed me to pull the necklace out of my wallet. It’s a silver chain holding a heart at the end of it. The heart was covered in diamonds and silver beads. Attached the sides of the heart are two plain silver wings, and attached to the top right of the heart is a plain gold halo. It was perfect for her.

“For you, Valentine,” I rasped as I placed the necklace around her neck. “I love you, Angel.”

“I love you too,” she grinned widely at her new jewelry. She suddenly turned and crashed her lips into mine without warning, taking me by surprise at first. I kissed her back with more force, pulling her closer to me as I push my tongue into her mouth.

After a long make-out session, she pulled away and smirked, “Do you know what we can do that Niall and I will never do?”

“This was a good idea,” I chuckled. We went to the frozen yogurt shop we had gone to when we first started talking and got our favorite flavors and toppings. Now, we’re at the track with blankets and her laptop, ready to enjoy a movie.

“Told you,” she giggled and wiped her mouth clean with the tips of her fingers. “You know what else Niall can’t do?”

She held her hand up and signed “I love you” to me with one simple hand gesture.

I bit my lip and signed it back. “He’ll never be able to kiss you either,” I inched closer to her face. Every time her lips melt into mine, it feels like I died and went to heaven. She has such a strong effect on me that I can’t even explain. I love how she kisses. I love how she's still putting up with me through all my jealousy, I love how she can make me feel better without even realizing there's a problem...I love her.

I love this girl so much it hurts. I hope I never lose her.

(A/N: I know it’s killing some of you, so I decided to give you a sneak peak of the next chapter which gives you a huge hint about Harry’s secret)

12: 06 AM Saturday February 16th 2014

I let out a high pitched growl and knocked everything off of my dresser, hearing things break as they smashed against the floor. I breathed heavily as I gripped my curls in my hands and paced my room. I started yelling more, throwing things around my room and kicking my dresser.

“Harry!” Gemma worriedly ran into my room. “Harry, what’s wrong?”

“Get out!” I demanded without looking at her.

I felt her hand touch my shoulder which I quickly yanked away, “Harry, please talk to me.”

“Leave!” I begged while on the verge of crying.

“No!”

“You ruined my life!” I yelled as I faced her, and her angry expression turned to hurt. “You ruined my fucking life and now I’ll never be good for her!”

She took a step towards me, “Har-“

“I’m a criminal,” tears began rushing down my cheeks as my lip trembled. “I’m a criminal,” I repeated, sobbing as I fell to the floor and buried my face into my hands.

@ReignOn
To be honest, I had no idea where I got the poodle shaped birthmark idea until now haha. I knew I heard it from somewhere, but I was never able to figure out where. Also, there are tons of people who get locks for their doors to lock on the outside. I babysat for a family that had locks on their kid's doors to lock them in whenever they were in a timeout.
