Vampires Rule

“Calypso up! Now girl! There is some amazing news!” A House Maid yelled and knocked hard on the door.

I yelled back, already wrestling my shoe’s on “I’m up, I’m up!”

I almost knocked my head on the dusty attic while I was franticly trying to get my shoes on. My home was an attic in my masters house. It was quite cramped but I couldn’t complain, many servants didn’t even get a place to sleep, they could be thrown out on the streets at night or shoved in cages.

I had my gown on and I quickly brushed my hair. Then I was ready for the day. I walked out of my room to find the House Maid waiting for me. “Whats the news” I asked.

The House Maid bustled me along as she said “The prince, has finally come out of hiding, a couple of days ago and his visiting here to see our master!”

I gaped at her “Wha- I mean Pardon? Surely I didn’t hear you right?”

She said with a smile “You heard correctly Calypso”

“Our Master, wish’s to see us before he arrives” She told Calypso.

They walked up the marble stairs in a hurry, I almost tripped over my gown a few times as we hurried up the stairs while still trying to look professional. I got to the main hall doors where our master would be.

Our Master was a proud Vampire called Vincent, he was the princes Uncle.

The house maid opened the doors with a switch of a button on the walls, the doors creaked open to see my Master talking to another vampire quickly and he glanced at us as we came in.

He showed the other vampire away and smiled at us with pointed teeth, I noticed that we weren’t the only slaves here, quite a few were standing around, looking awkward and not sure what to do.

“Slaves! Come here and stand in front of me a row” He demanded.

We quickly followed what he said, knowing he could easily hurt us or kill us if we took to long.

My Master said putting his hands behind his back “As you are probably well aware the Prince will be coming over to day, he wants a Hand Maid and will be buying one of you from me”
I blinked at this, but before I could react, My Master added “What you probably do not know is his 20th birthday was only a week ago”

Everyone had the same reactions, I tensed and a slice of fear ran through me then looked at the other slaves worriedly, who were doing the exact same as me.

We all knew that newly turned Vampires were extremely bad tempered, hungry and aggressive.

They weren’t very good at controlling their new vampire instincs and the fact when they first transformed their humanity was gone was very scary indeed.

My master smirked at our worried glances as he said “So you should all know it won’t be wise to anger him"
