Chapter 2:
After me and Harry met, we continued meeting up every Saturday, with the exception of February 1st, where I went aaalll the way to Harrys for his 16th birthday. It was only a quiet meal with his family but it was nice. A few weeks ago, Harry told me he applied for The X Factor, I went with him to his first audition, and he was amazing! I didn’t even know he liked singing, so when he got up and sang, my heart fluttered. He got through to boot camp, but then kicked out before judges houses, he called me up straight after to tell me
*Flashback*
Me: Hello?
Harry: *sniffles* Eve, I didn’t get through
Me: Harry, don’t be upset, just think as it as a way to improve
Harry: I know bu…. I have to go, there calling me back on, I’ll call you later
Me: I’d rather you call me Eve, but ok
Harry: HAHAHA! I miss you, speak soon
Me: Bye
*End of Flashback*
He called me up a few minutes later to tell me he had been put into a group with four other lads, Liam, Niall, Zayn and Louis. We didn’t speak much after that, until he called me to tell me he got me a ticket to the final, he also got Beth and Tom one, who were now an official couple.
*Another Flashback*
The three of us and Harrys family were impatiently waiting for the presenter to call out who would be unfortunately going home in third place. We waited, and waited, until he said, ‘One Direction, sorry lads’ all five of them were very gracious about their loss, but I could see it in Harrys eyes he was wanting ever so badly to break down right there. After that Harrys family went backstage to see the boys, me, Beth and Tom waited till the after party to see them. Soon as I walked in, my eyes scanned the room for Harry, my breathing was heavy, my skin was clammy. Then I spotted him, talking to Simon Cowell faking a smile. I waited until he noticed me, and when he did, he cut his conversation short and fast walked towards me. Soon as he was close enough, we leapt into each others arms, we hadn’t seen each other in 7 months. I felt so safe wrapped in his arms, but I needed to look after him. We pulled back and looked each other dead in the eyes and both immediately walked towards the balcony where there wasn’t an audience. As we walked out, we got some funny looks off other contestants, I had a feeling they didn’t know about me. Anyway, we got out on the balcony, ‘ first things first’ he said whilst reaching in his pocket, ‘ happy 16th from 3 days ago’. My eyes widened in shock as I realised what he was giving me.
The second time we met, Harry told me how when he was 14, he went out and bought a ring at a random size. He said whoever fits this ring, is the girl he will never let go.
As I opened the box, I was speechless. ‘I’m giving you this hoping it will fit, I’m not saying I’m in love with you, but, you’re my best friend, I love you, and I’m never letting you go’. I felt like an idiot but tears just began streaming down my face. I knew in that moment that the way me and Harry started was wrong, he’s my best friend, nothing more, and he’ll never be anything less. As he slid the black diamond ring on to my finger, he stopped and took in a deep breath and continued placing the ring on my finger. It was a perfect fit. We both exhaled a breath we didn’t know we was holding in. At that moment, we both burst into fits of uncontrollable laughter.
We went back inside, continued to mingle and dance, when it came to the end of the night, me and Harry went to our separate rooms.
*End of Flashback*
That was 11 months ago, I’ve not seen him once.
