Dinner
Nina’s P.O.V
“Hurry, we have to go” Harry pats my behind three times indicating me to go faster into the closet.
“Jeez calm down” I enter the closet, he retreats to his bags and pulls out clothing, “ I’m going to shower and change and then we’re leaving” He informs me bossily.
I turn back to the aisles of garments. Quickly I take out something suitable for dinner with the parents. (http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=87177779 ) I change and quickly tweak my hair and makeup.
I step out of the closet to be met with a handsomely dressed Harry sitting on the edge of his bed with his ankle over his thigh, swiping on the touch screen of his iPhone.
His head sweeps up and his mouth instantly curves into a smile, “ You look beautiful” He says softly while travelling his eyes along me.
“You don’t look so bad yourself”
He stands and moves towards me, engulfing me into his arms, he inhales
“You smell divine” He whispers
I smile and tighten my arms around his neck.
“ I love you” He says against my neck
“ I love you too Harry”

“ So why were you in such a hurry to get to my parents house?” I turn and look at Harry, who’s pretending to be focused on the long road leading up to the driveway of the house.
“Sorry love, I’m trying to be a good driver” He smirks slightly, I open my mouth slightly and repeat myself
“Harold, why did you want to come here so fast” My tone is harder
“ I’m hungry” He swallows and I choke on the laugh rising through my body
“ You alright?” His head turns and eyes meet
“ Oh come on, you could drive this car with your eyes closed and you ate a huge snack before we came” I giggle
“We’re here” He announces excitingly
He hops out of the car so fast I have to double check to make sure he took the keys out of the ignition.
“ Harry-“ I start, and my door swings open, “ Come on baby” He pulls my arm, I quickly unhook my seat belt.
“ Jesus Harry!” I yell as he practically drags me to the front door.
He presses his pointer finger on the doorbell.
“ Nina! Harry!” My mom squeals as the door opens. She opens her arms and I willingly hug her, I’ve missed her, lots has happened and I really need her.
I walk in past mom and Harry as they mumble quietly to each other, I can make out what they’re saying.
“Lets go onto the patio” My mom expresses with extreme joy, clapping her hands together.
Harry puts his arm around my waist, and follows my mom as well.
“ Everyone’s out here” She smiles big at me and pulls the door open as if tearing the Christmas paper off a gift.
“Wait what do you mean everyone?” I glance at Harry who has the biggest, mischievous, dimple-revealing grin on his face.
“ Nina!” I hear voices say in unison.
I take my eyes around the room I see, Louis, Zayn, Niall, Liam, Tia, Dani, Perrie and Eleanor.
“ Oh my god, when did you guys get here?” I cover my open mouth with my hand.
“Harry arranged it all” Zayn gestures to Harry with a beer in his hand.
“ I missed you so much!” Tia jumps into my arms I hug her back strong.
“ I missed you too”
“ Hey we all missed each other now stop hogging Nina” Louis breaks us up and looks at me giving me the puppy dog face, “ Come here Louis” I open my arms and he picks me up off the ground
“ Enough, put her down mate” Harry warns.
We go through 5 minutes of “ I missed you” and hugs before my mom announces “ Dinner time! Tia, Nina dad just got home from work”
I look over to my wonderful boyfriend “ You are amazing” I bring my face closer to his, gently his lips push onto mine I wrap my arms around his neck embracing the whole moment “ You’re my everything” He says against my mouth quietly so only him and I can hear.
“ Lets go love birds, dinners ready” Zayn walks over and pats both our backs.

“ Everyone enjoy!” Mom exclaims as everyone gawks over the amount of food that was prepared for our dinner.
“Dani you look amazing” I turn my head and look at her growing bump, it’s so much bigger than last time.
“Thank you, three months left” She looks down fondly at her stomach.
“ It’ll go by quick babe” Liam skims his hand over her belly and kisses the side of her head.
“ We started planning the baby shower” El confesses, Louis smiles proudly at his girlfriend
“Everything’s going to be pink” Perrie divulges with a wicked smirk plastered on her face.
“I’m so sorry I haven’t been able to help” I confess, I feel bad that I’m not a part of Tia and the girls planning.
“ It’s okay! There’s so much time and so much to do” Dani’s face flashes fear.
“ So do you guys have a name yet?” My dad speaks up after swallowing a bite of mashed potato.
“ We like Hadley and Ella” Dani looks over to Liam
“We’re undecided still, so many names to chose from” Liam’s forehead crinkles.
“ So Nina what have we missed the past few weeks?” Niall looks over from Harry to me twice.
“ How are you guys doing?” Louis gets straight to the point Niall was going for.
“We’re great” I lean my head over to meet Harry’s
I think of the right time to tell them all what’s happened in the past few weeks and nothing comes to mind… Should I tell them during dinner… after dinner… during dessert… this is so difficult.
Harry senses my nervousness and plants his hand on my knee under the table. His touch gives me the confidence to tell them.
“ So a detective came to see me the other day” I start and then pause waiting for reactions. Dani and El gasp and the rest of the boy’s faces turn into worriedness. Tia and my parents face’s fall to the floor.
I narrow my eyes at Tia, she shifts uncomfortably “ Anyways… He gave me letters my mom had wrote me and a will” I take a deep unsteady breath “My parents had 900 million dollars in their will for me” Everyone’s mouth drops and eyes pop “ Along with estates and cars” I smile small “ and then I got a call”
My parents remain un amused, staring at me impassively, Tia looks to the floor again. “ I have a brother, his name is Wyatt, he has two kids and a wife and they’re perfect” Abruptly my dad stands, the dishes clank together from the swift movement “Told you she’d find out Sarah” He says before storming off into the kitchen
“Dominic” my mom yells but gets no response
I look over to her, she avoids my eye contact, I turn to Tia who guiltily does the same, and her eyes fixed on the floor “You knew?” I snarl at them
“ We kept it from you to protect you darling” My mom pleas with me, horror written in her face.
“Tia?” I hiss, she looks up “ You knew I had a brother and you didn’t tell me?”
“ Uh oh” I hear Zayn mumble
“You’re suppose to be my fucking best friend, my sister, and you kept this from me?” I scream at her, standing up, pointing at her.
“I’m sorry Nina” She looks at me, tears running down her cheeks.
“Mom you knew too?” I turn and shout at her
“ I knew about it all, the detective wanted to talk to you when you were younger but we wanted you to move on from your old life and embrace the one you had with us now”
“That’s fucking bullshit” I spit at her and stand up
“Nina calm down” Harry grabs my shoulders, I spin out of his hands.
“Don’t tell me to calm down, my whole family lied to me, how long?” I look at my spineless mother, nothing but hate and anger running through my blood.
“We knew about everything the day we signed the adoption forms”
“How could you keep something like this from me?!” I scream and slowly I notice Louis and Zayn walking over to me.
“ You just need to relax” Louis attempts to talk to me
“Don’t fucking tell me what to do” I growl at him, his eyes narrow and I know he wants to put me in my place but he resists.
“ Nineers just take a deep breath” Zayn takes his turn
“No this is fucking bullshit” I eye Tia and mom with a death stare.
“ I’m so sorry Nina” Tia continues to cry, Niall trying his hardest to comfort her.
“ I can’t believe this” I say quietly, the boys step back.
“ I can’t believe that my family would keep this from me” I turn and walk down the hallway towards the exit
“Where are you going?” I hear Harry’s voice and a cluster of footsteps behind me. I grab my car keys, Harry grabs my wrist.
“Where are you going?” He repeats, I pull my hand out of his grasp.
“Away from her” I yell pointing at Tia “Away from her” I then point at my mother “ and fucking away from all of you” I open the door and walk out.
“ Nina talk to me” Harry pleads with me, following me out the door and onto the driveway, the rest of the group pools around the door entrance.
“Nina, stop” He stands in front of the driver’s door.
“Move” I say through clenched teeth
“Talk.To.Me” he says, each word staccato.
“No, I don’t want to fucking talk to you or anyone so stop suffocating me!” I scream at him, the anger getting worse and worse as I stay here. His face turns into hurt and his eyes fill with pain. “ You think I’m suffocating you?” He whispers and slowly moves away from the door.
I swallow, I’m too angry to make things better. I unlock the car and step in. Harry backs off far enough so I can pull out, still closer than the others.
I pull out and drive back down the road.
I turn on the radio and the tears start flowing, how could they do this to me, I longed to know about my birth parents and family and they knew the whole time.
I open my phone to texts from the boys

Louis, Harry, Niall, Liam and I are on our way to your apartment, Harry is freaking out please call someone.
I can’t bring myself to read the rest.
Quickly I skim over all the places I could go, a bar sounds nice.
I drive back into Manhattan and find myself the bar Tia, Tom and I always went to “Divers”
I step out of the car and use the mirror to make sure that my makeup isn’t half way down my face.
I approve of my appearance and walk down the side of the bar to the entrance, whistles and disgusting remarks come from the men walking the opposite direction, and I feel scared.
They let me in without checking ID. I walk over to the bar and sit in one of the brown stools.
“What can I get you beautiful?” The tall, tan and blue-eyed bartender asks.
“Gin and Tonic, and three tequila shot” I says emotionless
“Coming up” He notices my sadness and turns his flirting off.
“Nina?” an all too familiar voice speaks my name. I turn and lock eyes with Tom…
“Tom” I say sharply
“Drinking alone?” He invites himself over and takes the seat beside me, my drinks arrive and I quickly down the shots.
“What’s wrong?” His eyebrows crease.
“Nothing” I lie, and he knows me well enough to know I’m lying.
“Oh come on, I dated you for years, I know when something’s wrong” His voices catches on sadness, I study him and then shrug.
“My parents are liars, Tia’s a liar, they all lied to me” I confess to myself, and then explain the rest of the story to him.
“Well, we better get you another drink” He takes a deep breath and calls the bartender over “ Can we get 10 shots of tequila”

“Nina, I miss you” Tom slurs at me
“Stop Tom” I laugh and push his leaning body away from me Harry… I think and frown.
“I’m sorry I cheated on you, I fucked up, Harry’s a lucky guy” he smiles, but I know it’s fake, he’d always smile like that when he was upset.
I look at the clock “3:04am” it reads, I panic “Shit I have to go” I stand and grab my bag, heading for the door, Tom races after me.
I hail a cab, Tom grabs my hand and spins me, and my drunken mind stumbles from the spin and Tom pushes his face closer to mine. No… No… No… His head bows slightly and his eyes close, I squirm out of his arms.
“ I’m sorry” I mumble “ I can’t do this” I open the taxi door and quickly get in.
I present my address to the driver and look back at Tom as we driver further away, he looks destroyed.
“Thank you” I hand the man money for the ride and walk up the stairs of my apartment, I notice Louis’s car and frown.. I’m in trouble.
I walk up the stairs slowly, and take my time when opening the door.
They sit in the living room, Louis, Zayn, Niall, Liam and Harry, most of them frantically on their phones.
“Well keep looking, I need to know where she is” Harry growls into the phone.
I shut the door louder than I expected, their heads fly up and Harry relaxes, and looks me up and down for any sign of injuries.
“Where the hell have you been?” Louis breaks the awkward silence.
“Hi” I cough
Harry steps closer “ Have you been drinking?” He asks appalled
I stifle a giggle “ Maybe”
“How much have you had to drink Nina” Zayn talks to me like he’s my father.
“ Not enough clearly” I joke but no one seems amused.
I stumble forward and grab onto the counter top to help me stay standing.
Harry looks concerned, I thought drinking would help me cope with my family but all it’s doing is making me sadder and sadder. I fail to keep the lump in my throat down and the first tear falls.
“Do you have any idea how worried we were” Liam says breathlessly
“Nina” Harry whispers
I struggle out of his gaze and the tears start to worsen.
“Come here baby” He walks up to me and wraps his arms around my waist, pulling me close to his chest, I hold onto him tighter than ever.
“Come on lads, lets give them a minute” Niall ushers the rest of the boys out of the room.
“ I’m so sorry” I say against his shirt, letting the tears flow freely down my cheeks, making the fabric moist.
“I’m sorry, I should have given you space, I love you” He kisses the top of my head over and over.
“Tom was at the bar” I close my eyes and wait for his reaction. He pulls me off him.
“What?” He snaps
“We drank a bit and that’s it, he tried to kiss me but-“
Harry interrupts me “ He tried to fucking kiss you?” Anger and jealously replaces every emotion present in his face.
