Chapter 16
Summer's Outfit
I thought a lot about what Breezie said. I decided she was right so that night I asked Liam to drop me off downtown the next day so I could go job hunting. After about thirty minutes of arguing he reluctantly agreed. The next morning I woke up around 10:30. I sat up and yawned. I got up and walked down the hall to the bathroom so I could take a shower. I heard someone rummaging in the kitchen and smiled to myself.
Liam and his Fruit Loops, I thought to myself.
I went into the bathroom and shut the door. I took a quick shower. I wrapped a towel around myself when I finished and stepped out into the hallways. When I walked into my room and I started screaming. Harry was standing in the middle of my room.
"What are you doing in my room?! How did you even get in the house?!" shrieked.
Harry smirked. "I'd answer that question but you are really distracting me," he Saud as he gestured at my towel clad body.
"That is it! Get out of my room you pervert!" I screamed as I grabbed the closest thing to me, which happened to be a very large book and threw it at his head.
Harry ducked and it missed his head by mere inches.
"Damn!" Harry said as he ran out the door.
As he ran out he slapped my ass.
"Bastard!" I shouted after him as I slammed the door shut with a loud bang and locked it.
I could hear him laughing as he ran down the hallway.
"Insufferable asshole!" I muttered to myself as I began getting reasy.
I quickly did my hair and makeup. I grabbed one of my wedges Out of the closet. I couldn't find the other one until Treasure poked her head out from under the bed. She pulled my other shoe out from under the bed.
"Did you find my other shoe?" I asked her in a baby voice.
She yipped once and rolled on her back. I laughed and rubbed her belly before slipping on my other shoe. I grabbed my purse and picked her up. I walked out of my room and went into the living room. Harry was sitting on the couch texting someone.
"What are you still doing here?" I asked annoyed at him.
He lazily looking up and down before responding. "I'm supposed to be babysitting you. Liam had something to do."
I scolded at him. "I don't need a babysitter."
"Doesn't matter I'm supposed to watch you. Make sure nothing happens," Harry said. "Trust me I'd rather be doing something else. Anything else really."
"Then go ahead and leave. Let the door hit you an the way out," I told him.
He laughed. "I would but Liam asked as a personal favor."
"Ugh!" I stomped my foot angrily and called Liam.
"Hello?" Liam answered.
"I do not need a babysitter!" I yelled into the phone.
"Ow! Damn sis! Calm down! It's for your protection," he said.
"I can protect myself. I don't see why I have to spend the day with this asshole!" I said forcefully.
Harry rolled his eyes at me. I stuck my tongue out at him. I heard Liam sigh.
"What's it going to take?" Liam asked.
"What?" I asked in confusion.
"What do you want in exchange for this?"
I grinned evilly. "A blue convertible Mustang."
Harry's head shot up and I heard Liam groan.
"Really?" Liam asked.
"Yep."
"Fine, Fine! Just don't call me again about this," Liam said and then hung up.
"Did he seriously just agree to tbat?" Harry asked in shock.
"Of course. The price of my obedience is a brand new car," I said with a grin.
Harry just shook his head. "Fine whatever. Lets just go."
I clipped Treasure's leash onto her collar. "Okay. We're ready."
"No," Harry said flatly.
I looked at him in confusion. "No what?"
"That mutt is not going in my car. Dogs smell," Harry said.
Treasure whimpered and I covered her eyes. "How dare you? She can hear you!"
Harry rolled his eyes. "Oh come on it's just a stupid dog."
Treasure barked unhappily. I narrowed my eyes at him. "Apologize."
Harry raised his eyebrows. "Excuse me?"
"You heard me right," I told him. "Apologize to her."
"No way! Why would I Do that?" Harry asked.
"Because if you don't I will make you go to the movies with me and we will watch chick flicks all day," I threatened.
Harry glared at me. "You wouldn't."'
"But I would."
"Fine!" Harry said with a groan. "I'm sorry," he mumbled under his breath.
"What was that? We couldn't hear you," I said.
Harry sighed loudly. "I said I'm sorry! Can we go now?
I cheered and Treasure yipped happily.
"Yes we can go now," I told Harry with a smile.
He rolled his eyes and we walked outside his car. I lightly ran my fingers over its hood and nodded.
"Nice car" I told him appreciatively.
"Well it doesn't matter cause now it's going to smell like dog," Harry said grumpily as he got in his car.
I rolled my eyes And got in the car too. We drove in almost complete silence except for music playing softly in the background. After about ten minutes of that awkwardness we arrived downtown. He parked at the sidewalk and I jumped out.
"Where to first?" Harry asked me.
"I don't know. I figured we could just walk around and see if there was anywhere with a help wanted sign," I said with a shrug.
"Alright, let's go," Harry said.
After a little bit of walking, I began to notice something.
"Hey Harry? Why are people trying to avoid us?" I asked.
"What do you mean?"
"Well when people see us coming they instantly move out of the way," I told him.
"You keep forgetting you are walking around with a known gang member," Harry said.
"Oh... right."
