Chapter 29

Emma's POV

It was a long drive, but it was worth it. We finally found an apartment parked in front of a duplex. Little tiny windows below told me that there was a basement, where Brooklyn was.
"Here." I said to Niall. "Hope this is the place." He pulled in through the back, so Ryan couldn't see us.
"Me too." He shut the last door slowly. We sneaked in to the front, Niall crawled down and looked in the window. He gasped.
"What, what is it?" I said.
"It's built like a cell.. This can't be a coincidence." He tapped on the glass, where a figure popped up.
"Brooklyn?" He whispered. Brooklyn couldn't hear him through the glass, but a smile spread across her face. She cheered, then showed us the handcuffs. I was in shock, why would he do this? I got up off the unpaved driveway and flipped through her diary, pages and pages of stuff, section by section. She couldn't see that I had it, it felt like I was her for a moment..

but we're twins so.

Niall was smiling at Brooklyn, she was warning him about everything by writing it on a piece of paper.
'Be careful.' Brooklyn wrote.
'Don't worry we will.. I'll take care of Emma. We're going to call the police and they'll come and arrest him.' Niall wrote back. Her smile disappeared.
'He's my father.'
'Look what he's doing to you Brooklyn, no matter what you say, we're getting help.'
'Fine.' Lights flashed in the driveway, it was him.

"Get up!" I said. Niall got up and we ran down the alley where our car was parked. "Quick, here.." We hid behind a dumpster. "That was close." I said breathing heavily.
"Yeah, what's he gonna do to Brooklyn next.." Niall couldn't make tears, his sad expression wanted him to. We couldn't bear for Brooklyn to be alone.
"We need to stay on this side of town for the night, we'll sleep in the car of we have to." I said. I finally caught breath.
"Are you serious?" He said looking confused.
"Yeah, whatever we have to do. We'll call the police tomorrow, when we're awake they'll be here."
"Okay, we'll sleep in the car." Niall said. We rushed to the car and Niall opened the trunk. A blanket, a bag, and a spare tire was in there. Keep in mind this is me and Brooklyn's car.

Yes we have a spare tire.

"That's what we have." Niall said.
"We'll be good for the night, right?" I worried.
"Right." It was getting dark, me and Niall went in the car, and he turned off the headlights. We topped the blanket on top of each other and opened the bag. Two bottles of water were in there, nothing else. Enough to keep us hydrated. I took a short sip of mine and set his and mine in the holders. I pressed the button which lifted up the sunroof, I didn't want no bird to crap on the blanket, or my head. I checked the radio time, 9:46.
"Ready to sleep?" Niall said.
"Yeah, hope for the best!" I said.
"Hope for the best." He said. I shut my eyes as I heard a click. Niall locked the doors. I set my head on his shoulder.

We had no pillows okay?? Brooklyn is all his.

Brooklyn's POV

Dad walked in and locked the door. He came downstairs and unlocked my door.
"Those were your friends?" He said.
"They were making sure I was okay." I didn't lie.
"Whatever. I got you some clothes." He threw them in my cell. Pyjamas, a couple new tops, jeans, and a pair of shoes. I tied my hair up in a ponytail with the elastic on my wrist. He stood there.
"Can I have some privacy please?" I said.
"Oh, right. I thought you'd never ask." He wanted to see me undress. No. He un cuffed me first then walked upstairs. I got dressed in the pyjamas. I looked in the mirror that was supplied. It looked good. I jumped in my bed, the springs weren't strong so they caught me off balance. I covered myself with the one blanket I had, shifted my pillow to my setting. i shut the lamp and closed my eyes. The one thing I was thinking is that I hoped that Emma and Niall didn't come here then left.
