Psychic or Psycho?

Jace's POV

We finish packing the basket and put the cover on the basket. Niall shows me that he loves food, which I already knew sin e we go to the same school.

"C'mon, the back door is over here," he says, motioning for me to follow him. He walks through the screen door and steps outside, me following him.

There is a beautiful garden, a water fountain in the north side of it. Beautiful daisies and sunflowers and violets and every flower I can think of. He takes my hand and we walk through the garden.

"Who planted these," I ask him, still admiring the breathtaking view. The sun was shining, the water fountain gleaming. It was beautiful.

"The housekeepers. They are very talented, yes?" I nod.

"Niall," I say when he lies down the checkered rug. "Can you tell me more about the boys, about the Institute? I can't go back to my mom's house. Is it possible I could stay there also?" He laughs, but I can tell it was fake.

"Full of questions, aren't you? Well, it is possible you could stay at the Institute, it's free. What would you want to know about the boys and I?"

"Everything," I say, not even hungry except for information.

"Well, Liam's parents sent him here to 'further his studies.' That's what he said. Louis's parents couldn't afford for him to stay in Doncastor, or in Europe, period. I don't know why. Zayn got kicked out, and Harry got kicked out of every school. Apparently."

"What about you," I say softly.

"My.... My parents died. No one was in Ireland that could have me stay with them. So I went to England to fly here with the boys." He looks down. I put my hand on his cheek.

"I'm sorry, Niall." I gently push my lips to his.
