*Addison's POV*

What just happened? Was I dreaming? Nope, that was real life. He was so hot! He had gorgeous brown curls that framed his face. His eyes glowed as he spoke. And he had the perfect smile.

“Addison, I'll meet you here to go home after school ok?” I was pulled out of my daydream by Wyatt talking to me. He began to walk away.

“Yeah sounds good. And Wy, text Dad and tell him to pick up Evelyn. Ok? Thanks!” I replied still thinking of that mysterious “new boy.”

I walked over to my locker to see my best friends Layne and Mackenzie waiting there for me. Their backs were turned to me but I could see they were whispering about something.

“Hey am I interrupting something ladies?” I giggled as I pushed into their huddle.

“Hey!!!! And um... no. Well maybe.” Mackenzie giggled. “Have you met the new kid yet? He's so frickin adorable. His hair, his eyes, and his accent. Oh my word, is he perfect or what?” Layne blushed as Mackenzie looked back at her.

“I actually have. I ran in to him this morning. Like literally. And I was speechless, I just stared. It was really embarrassing to say the least.”

We all continued to ohh and ahh over the new kid until the bell rang. I scooped up my books and headed of to my first class. AP Statistics. That was one of the down sides to being smart, I was forced in to taking the near to impossible classes. Both Landon and I were quite smart so we were always enrolled into AP and Honors classes. And somehow we always ended up in the same class. Although we had grown closer over the past few months following my Mom's death we didn't enjoy being with each other all the time. As twins we were always expected to be the best of friends. This wasn't true for us. Landon was overprotective and it drove me crazy. I was 17, I could fend for himself. I didn't need him to be right there to protect me.

* Landon's POV*

Great. The start of a new day. A new year. Maybe this could change things for us. Give us a new start. It has been hard for my family the last few months. Sometimes I feel like we were barely hanging on. I feel like I have to be strong. For all of them, even my dad. He doesn't even know how to control his emotions. There have been countless days I find him crying in his office. I leave him be, I don't feel bad for him. He needs to figure it out for himself. He's leaving his kids in the dust. We are all struggling too.

Ok. I need to move on. I push all of these thoughts out my mind trying to remember that I'm in high school. I shouldn't be worrying about this. I push my hair out of my face and take a deep breath as I walk into my first class, AP Statistics. The first thing I see is Addison. Of course. Great. She's talking to my friend Seth. She leans in whispering something to him. He puts his hand on her back and pulls her closer. That's it.

“Seth, back off man. Addison, can I talk to you?” I say, clenching my fists. She rolls her eyes and slides of the desk. He watches her as she comes to where I am standing. “Addison, what are you doing? Why? Is this your new coping method? Hanging all over all of my friends? ” I question critically.

“Oh my gosh. Back off Landon, I was just talking to him. Jeesh, do you have to be involved in all of my business?” She stormed away, grabbing her bag and sitting on the opposite side of the room.

'Well if your throwing yourself at all of my friends, then yah its my business.' I thought to myself. It's not like my dad even would care. She needed someone to look out for her, and I am all she has. She'll realize it at some point.
