The mentally brave ( Editing)

"Dad!" My eyes go wide seeing him sitting at our kitchen by my mum's side "What are you doing here?" I am standing at the entrance feeling confused and awkward.
"What happen to your face?" My mum seemed shocked with the way I looked, my dad not so much.
"It's nothing mum" I say still looking at him.
"Come Liz, come join us" he pulls out the chair on his left for me to sit. I try to read his thoughts but they're blank, I try my mum, it's like she is in a shock and confused just as me for why my father decided after so many years to pay us a visit.
"Come Liz sit down" My dad gestures to the chair, I take slow steps to them, trying to buy some time to figure out what is going on.
"Where is Nat?" I ask
"She went out" My mum had a tense smile on her face.
I hold on to the back of the chair but I don't sit down.
'Come on baby, sit down' I can hear my dad think. Just as I pull out the chair for me to sit, Natalie runs into the house and stops just where I stood a few moments ago.
"Liz!" She says eyes wide. I turn and shift over to her so I can give her a hug.
As I hug her I read her mind yelling at me 'Liz you must get out of here he is Company X- Get out' I let go of her and stare into her eyes with alarm.
I am not sure what to do. Should I just turn and run out? Should I sit down and see what he has to say?
'Sit down already' I can hear my dad getting aggravated.
"I'm just going to change and I'll be right back" I say, attempting a smile that came out weak.
"Sit down god damn it!" He bangs down on the table. That made my mum, sister and I flinch. I take Natalie's hand in mine and we take a seat.
"There is something I need to share with you" He starts in a calmer tone.
"I'm not sure I feel like listening to you" I say, deciding I don't owe this man a single thing, after he walked out on us, and especially if he works for the company.
"Elizabeth, I understand you're upset with me, but you need to understand"
"No you need to understand" I cut in "You just upped and left! Leaving us three to fend for ourselves, you have no idea how hard it was for us but we managed! So who are you to come back here now and demand me to give you the time of day?"
My mum and sister were looking down at the table, not knowing what to do with themselves.
"Liz, you don't understand" He tried saying
"I understand very well, you think you hiding your thoughts from me is enough to keep me outside the loop? Well news flash to you dad" I get up to my feet.
"What loop?" My mum asks finally understanding there is probably a different reason for why my dad is here, not the one he let her think.
"Dad you know why my face is like this don't you?" I fold my arms.
"If you just come with me they can help" He said trying his best to seem at ease.
"How? They will beat me up some more? Use me as a lab rat? Maybe just put a bullet through my head like your friend tried yesterday" I am trying to keep my tears at bay, not to show him how hurt I was finding out he works for the company all along.
"You almost got shot at?" My mum is gobsmacked, her and Natalie both watching me with fearful eyes.
"Do you want to tell mum about your friends at company X? or should I?"
"Company X?" She was confused looking from me to him waiting for one of us to provide her with an answer.
"I'm not going with you" I say, a tear escaping, running down my left cheek.
"We can do it the easy way or the hard way" He got up to his feet leaning on the table.
"Send all the best to Doctor Cowell but I won't be joining his group of lab rats" I turn to go.
I hear my mum and sister gasp, and turn to see why. My dad was holding a taser.
"Come on Lizzie, don't make me use this on you" He says using my nickname to try and reason with me.
"I wouldn't try that if I was you" I tell him.
"Is that so?" He picks it up. In that instant I use my mind to make the taser gun fly out of his hand and straight to mine.
"OH yeah dad, I can do this too now" I shrug and give a half smile looking at his shocked face. "Don't follow me, or you'll be sorry" I say. I point the tare at him as I walked out of the kitchen. I take my leather jacket that was hanging by the door and walked out, damaging the lock to make it harder for them to leave the house. I pull on the jacket, pulling up the hood of my jumper and walking arms crossed over my chest. I don't know where to go, leaving my bag and phone at the house. Tears are streaming down my face now, not being able to stop the hurt and betrayal that I felt by my own flesh and blood.
I know I should get off the main road, not knowing if there are any more company people here with my dad or if he came unaccompanied.
I stop and shift back into the shadows so I can compose myself. I take deep breaths and try to think what I should do. I need to get to the cabin. How stupid was I to forget my phone! I decide to start walking to the cabin even though it is far. I bend down my head to make it seem I am trying to cover myself from the cool air, I take fast paces but not too fast so I'll won't track attention to myself.
I cross the street looking sideways, making sure I am not being followed. I stop in mid pace realizing what I have just done. I have left my sister with that man, with no way of protecting herself. I squeeze my eyes shut deciding to go back, when a hand closes around my arm. I let out a scream, making the person fall back with my mind.
"Bloody hell Lizzie" Harry was on the ground holding himself up with his hands.
"Harry" I breathe out, the fear draining out of me making room for more emotions to come through. Harry gets up from the earth to stand close in front of me "You alright?"
"No" I start crying again "I'm not"
Harry pulls me in for a hug, holding my head close to his heart, waiting for me to calm down.
"It's my dad" I sob, pulling back to look at his face.
"I know" His face was pained as if he is hurting with me.
"Y-you know?"
"Yes, Louis had a vision, I came looking for you, to make sure you got out of there in time" Harry was looking down at me assessing my emotion state.
"I need to go back" I take a step, just to be stopped by him.
"You can't go back Lizzie" he was holding on to my arm.
"You don't understand I left her there with him" I am pulling trying to get free, but it's no use, Harry is stronger than me, and his guard is up, blocking my mental abilities.
"Lizzie, listen to me, your home is swarming with company people... we need to get away and off the walkway now before they find us"
I am watching his eyes, truth looking back at me.
"But Natalie"
"Natalie will be safe for now with your mum, they will assume she knows nothing"
"So where shall we go?" I wipe at my eyes. My tears won't help a soul, so I pull myself together.
"Come with me" Harry takes my hand and directed us to wherever he had in mind for us to go.
"I like that jacket" He winked at me
"Are you trying to make me feel better?" I glance up at him
"Yes, but I do like it". He turned into an ally. There on the side was his motorbike. We got on, pulling over the helmets.
Now with helmets covering our faces it was safer for us to drive on the road, however Harry still picked sideways to get to the cabin.
"How can we be sure they don't know about this place?" I hand back the helmet to him.
"Well, we don't.. But we have Louis and Liam to take care of that" We stride through the mud and leaves to the cabin, hand in hand, Harry rubbing his thumb over my skin to make me calm.

"When my vision went dark I knew you got to her" Louis smiled at us from his chess game with Eleanor. Harry closed the door behind us. I felt warmness seeping in knowing Niall isn't far. I go into the living room to find Niall, Liam and Perrie sitting on the couch.
"Liam we need to get my sister! Where is Luke?"
"He is already on it" Liam answered me looking up at Harry. Harry gives him a little nod and goes into the kitchen. Perrie moves over to make me some room next to her. I sit down and she puts a hand on my shoulder.
"I'm sorry" She sounded sincere. I leaned into her, like I used to do with Natalie for comfort.
"There" Harry hands me over a cup of tea. I take it from him grateful for something to do with my hands.
We all sit quietly, with Louis and Eleanor's voices in the background playing their game. It's funny how fast you click with someone when feelings are enhanced by our abilities.
As we sit and wait Luke and Ed appear in front of us.
"This teleporting thing is amazing" Ed sits down slapping a hand on Liam's thigh.
"Where is Natalie?" I look at them trying to get a read on as to where be my sister. Their minds are blank as if they are trying hard to block me.
"What are you hiding? What is going on?" I look from Luke and Ed to Harry.
"Come on lads, let's leave them to talk" Perrie gets up and signs the boys to follow her.
"Niall- stay close by" Harry told him quietly.
"What is going on Harry? You said they'll take care of it" I accuse him
"And they did" He was having a hard time looking me in the eye
"What have you done?" I get up and move closer to where he was standing.
"They did what was necessary" He was looking more to my right then at me.
"Which is to keep Natalie safe" I fold my arms across my chest
"She is" he assured me.
"Then where is she?"
"She's with your mum and dad"
"How does that make her safe!?" I shout out
"We did what was necessary" He repeated
"We must go get her" I pull at his arm
"Listen Lizzie, you can't go back there" He takes a hold of me
"The company is still there? Then we'll go back later, when they leave"
"You can't go back there ever" H says quietly, looking into my eyes for the first time since we got to the cabin.
"What do you mean?"
"You can't go back" He said in a final tone
"I can't just leave her Harry, I promised her I won't! I can't break that promise to her" I beg him, trying to understand why he's like this.
I can feel Niall trying to work at me but I fight it, I will not give up on my sister.
"It's not a promise if she doesn't remember"
"What? What did you just say?" I freeze in place
"She won't remember your promise" He said in a low voice. I watch his eyes go darker.
"That is why Ed went with Luke? To tamper with her memories?"
"Their memories" Harry corrected
"So? We can go back tomorrow or the next day" I try to reason with him.
"Liz, there is no going back! It's not safe so Ed made sure there is nothing tempting you heading back there" Harry took hold of my hands.
"What do you mean? What have you done?" I try to keep my voice from breaking
"We added some new memories to your family"
"What kind of memories?" I ask. But Harry was taking his time answering me. How I wish at times like this I could read him.
"Answer me" I shout again "They don't know who I am? You made them forget me?"
"I made you dead" He said
"I'm dead?" I take a step back looking at him in shock
"It is the best way to make the company leave them alone. No one will question it, if you died so you are of the company's radar"
"How could you do that to me?" I said quietly. Silent, hurtful tears gliding down my cheeks
"It was for your and their protection" Harry said calmly
"I can't believe you took my family away from me- just like that"
"It wasn't an easy thing to do"
"You out of everyone should know how it feels- having your sister taken away" my vision is blinded by my tears, but I can still see the flash of hurt in his eyes from my words
"It's not the same- Amy was killed, you are all alive and safe"
"It's just the same- to them I am dead so they feel the same thing you do- you doomed them to a life with pain! And you took them away from me- since now I can't go see them"
"Lizzie it was for the best believe me" Harry begged me to see reason but I would not have it.
"You took the only thing I had away from me! I have no one now! I'm on my own"
