Fix Me

Chapter 6

Harry's POV

"Wake up."

I groan and bury my face in the pillow. Who is waking me up and why are they being so mean.

"Go away," I groan.

"Harry."

I shoot up into sitting position when I remember where I am. Niall and Louis' apartment. In London. Where Lana lives.

Lana.

No one was here when I got back, so I ended up just crashing in one of the bedrooms. Conveniently enough there's three in this place, so I just picked the one that seems like the spare room. It had an empty closet. I know, I'm a genius.

"Wow, still got those crazy curls, don't you?" I look at the door to see Niall standing in the doorway, arms folded over his chest.

"And you're still a scrawny little shit," I retort, smirking at him. I get out of bed and walk over to shake his hand. "It's good to see you, Niall."

"You too, Haz. I have to admit, I thought there was a better chance of my reading your name in the obituaries than seeing you asleep in my apartment."

"Me too," I say, laughing. It really is crazy that I'm here.

"How'd you get out?"

"Zayn got sick of me," I shrug. "Said I could leave."

He scrunches his eyebrows together in confusion. "That sounds easy."

"Well there was a little more to it than that, but it doesn't matter now."

He shrugs and walks away. I follow him into the kitchen where he's attempting to make breakfast and is failing miserably.

"Good grief, you need help," I mumble. I walk over and tend to the bacon, then add some more milk to his pancake batter so I can pour it into the other frying pan. He takes a seat at the table and watches me finish what he started. "So how is she?" I ask quietly, keeping my back turned.

"How do you think she is, Haz." I sigh and turn around, folding my arms and leaning against the counter next to the stove far enough away that the bacon grease won't splatter onto my shirtless top half. "Wait, you haven't seen her yet?"

I shake my head. "Louis doesn't think it's a good idea."

"Well, are you planning on sticking around? Because if you're just going to see her and then leave again, I agree with him."

"Niall, if I wasn't here to stay then I wouldn't have come back. I promised myself that I wouldn't come back to her until I knew we could be together without Zayn interfering again."

"Well, she's been a wreck these last two years. Barely even talks to anyone except us and a few other girls she met last year."

"No guys?"

"Are you kidding?"

"Louis set her up with someone last night, though."

"Yeah, they've tried that before. Lana never takes any interest."

"Well, she did last night." I turn my head to see Eleanor and Louis exiting his bedroom. El is the one who spoke. "She actually had fun for once. Then you showed up and ruined it, just like you ruined everything two years ago."

"Easy," Louis says, kissing the top of her head as he steps around her to get a cup of coffee.

"Hello, Eleanor," I say curtly, nodding my head at her. She stares at me for a minute and it's so tense in here I can't move. Finally she sighs and walks over to me, wrapping me up in a tight hug.

"Hi, Harry. It's good to see you." She pulls back and smiles at me, but she doesn't looks sure of herself. "Are you back?"

"Yes."

"For good?"

"Yes."

She sighs again and looks into my eyes, probably to figure out if she believes me. "I don't know how I feel about that."

I turn and flip the bacon and pancakes while they all sit down at the table with their mugs. Then the debate starts between Niall and Eleanor.

"What do you mean? Harry's back, they can get back together now."

"No, it isn't that simple," El argues.

"Why not?"

"Because, he broke her heart. She has been an absolute wreck, you guys know that."

"So, now he can fix it. Plus I'm sure he was just as heartbroken as she was."

"But he actually knew what was happening. She was left in the dest. I don't think she'll let him in that easily. I don't know if she should. What if he leaves again?"

"He won't, he wouldn't come back if there was a chance of that happening."

"That's so comforting knowing what happened last time."

"You honestly think Lana isn't going to take him back?"

"I don't know if she'll be able to forgive him."

"Okay!" I shout, planting a pile of bacon and pancakes on the table. "I think Lana should be the one to decide, don't you?" I ask, looking between all three of them.

"I agree with him," Louis says as he takes three pancakes.

"What? You're actually going to let him talk to her?"

"It's her choice, Eleanor. We can't make her do anything she doesn't want to, we all know that about her. If she doesn't forgive him, that's her decision. But she needs to be the one to make it, not us."

"Geez, Lou, when did you get so sensible," I joke, punching his arm.

"I just want her to be happy again. If that means she takes you back, then fine. We missed having you around." He takes a massive bite and smiles. "These are amazing! I didn't know gangs took cooking classes."

I laugh and go back to the stove. Today could be the first time I talk to Lana in two years. I'm too nervous to eat. Good to know that Louis and Niall aren't mad at me. El will come around, I'm sure. She's just worried about her friend.

"I'm going to take a shower," I say, leaving them to eat and getting some fresh jeans from my bag so I can clean up.

Lana's POV

When I open my eyes I'm blinded by the sun streaming through my window. Really? The one day I forget to close the curtains it's actually sunny outside. That's awesome.

I shoot up when I remember what happened last night.

I'm convinced it was a dream. There is no way he's back. Plus, El never leaves when I'm been upset. Usually she actually sleeps in my bed to make sure I'm okay. I woke up to an empty apartment, so that must mean it was a nightmare.

It felt pretty real, though.

I shake it off and go to take a shower to relax myself. I let the hot water run over my skin, allowing the steam to cloud my sense until I feel better. By the end of my shower I'm convinced that everything is still the same. He isn't here, there's no way.

When I get out I go back to me room to get dressed. I hear my phone go off. There's a text from a number I don't know.

hey lana. its chase :) i hope you're okay. i had fun last night.

My eyebrows pull together when I read this text. Why would he say he hopes I'm okay? Why wouldn't I be? Maybe I got really drunk. That would explain a lot. Wait, how did he get my number? I don't remember giving it to him. I put a coat of mascara on and brush through my hair before deciding to try and find Eleanor. If she didn't sleep here then she's probably at Louis and Niall's place.

I take my key and lock the door behind me, putting my phone in my pocket while I make the trek up the three flights of stairs to the seventh floor. There are elevators, but they take so bloody long so I don't use them.

When I exit the stairwell I walk down the hallway and around the first corner where their apartment is located. I just walk in without knocking. We did it to them, they did it to us. Probably wasn't the best strategy. There are some things you can't un-see.

"Hey guys!" I call, walking into the kitchen. I can smell bacon. When I walk in all their faces drop. "Wow, who died?"

They all start looking at each other, exchanging anxious looks. I share one when I see the amount of food on the table. None of them can cook. I'm the only one who kind of can and I didn't make any of this obviously.

"So, are any of you going to speak?" I ask, taking a mug out and pouring some coffee for myself. I turn around and they all attempt to smile at me. What is going on with them?

"Good morning, Lana," Louis says, forcing a nervous smile.

"Lou, did you give Chase my number last night?"

"Umm yeah. I did, why? Did he text you?"

"Yea, he did. This morning."

"Do you like him?" he blurts out. What is his issue?

"I don't know," I shrug. "He seems nice enough."

"Who's Chase?"

"Niall, you're so stupid sometimes," Lou says, rolling his eyes.

"Oh, yea. I know Chase." He smiles and tips his chair back, then suddenly stands and drops his mouth open in shock. "You set them up last night! What the hell!"

"Woah, what is the big deal?" I ask. "Why are you guys acting so weird?" They all avoid my gaze so I narrow my eyes at El. "Eleanor, what's going on?"

"Well.."

I hear a door open to my left. I look at the table. 1, 2..yeah there's four of us. Who else is here?

"Lana?"

My head snaps to the side when I hear that voice. I inhale sharply, taking a step back and dropping my mug on the floor with an ear-splitting crash as the pieces of glass dance around my feet.

"Harry?"
