Save My Love

I smiled.

I'd only woken up, got out of bed, and checked my phone, but that was all it really took to get a smile out of me.

"How did you sleep?"

He texted me, just minutes before I woke up, just to see how I'd slept. If that wasn't thoughtfulness, I don't know what would've been.

"Just lovely. And you?"

"Pretty well :)"

I didn't bother changing before going downstairs, knowing that my mom would be at work and Zayn would be playing some video game.

"Morning," Zayn called from the living room as he heard me pass to get to the kitchen.

"Morning!"

"So how did last night go?"

"Great."

"I don't need to beat this guy up, do I? I mean, he got you home on time, and I haven't seen you this skippy in a while."

"I don't think you need to."

"Good. I'm too lazy."

I laughed freely as I grabbed a quick breakfast from the pantry. I just felt happy. And that didn't happen incredibly often.

"What are you playing?"

"GTA 5?"

"Mind if I watch?"

"Uh... why?"

"Just thought it would be fun," I shrugged.

"Whatever," he replied, a look of confusion spread across his face. I just smiled and plopped down beside him, staring at the television screen, waiting for him to resume his game.

I wasn't really paying attention, more so replying to Sammi's countless texts asking about the date.

"How was it? How was he? He's pretty hot, Pip. Where'd you go? What'd you do? Did he kiss you? Where'd he kiss you? For how long?"

I couldn't keep up with her, every time I answered one, she thought of two more to ask.

"No, he didn't kiss me."

"Ughhhhhh."

"Well has Liam kissed you yet?" I finally asked. I thought it was pretty funny, at least until she never replied.

"Sammi?"

"..."

"You guys kissed?!"

"YES!"

"When?! Why didn't you tell me??"

"You never asked! But it was last night. After I left your place he invited me over with some friends."

"So what happened?"

"Truth or dare happened."

"So like a peck or what?"

"Try four minutes in a closet."

"SAMMI!"

";)"

Trying to keep from flipping off the couch, I sent her back a "congrats" of some sort before checking my other messages.

"Can we go out again sometime soon? I can't get you off my mind."

The smile returned.

"As long as we take our walk before it gets dark, ok?"

"That can be arranged :)"

"Zayn! Keep it down!" I yelled from my bedroom. I could somehow hear him and his stupid friend over his headphones. When nothing changed in volume, I reluctantly stomped across the hallway and banged on his door.

"What's your problem?" he glared when he opened the door.

"My headphones are on full blast, and I can still hear you two."

"Not my fault you have crappy headphones."

I rolled my eyes, noticing his friend eyeing me from across the room.

"Can I help you?" I snapped.

"Is your name Pippa?"

"Yeah."

"Do you know a Harry?"

I was about to say no, when suddenly the slightest familiarity of the name passed through my mind. I must have displayed a puzzled look, because the kid chipped in again.

"He's a waiter at that new restaurant downtown."

Suddenly, the head of brown curls and green eyes popped up in my head.

"Yeah. He's strange. Why?"

"He told me about you. Think he likes you."

"I was on a date with another guy."

"He your boyfriend?"

"Well, no."

"Don't shut out your options so quickly, love."

"Lou, that's weird," Zayn groaned.

"Whatever man. Just some advice."

At this point, I couldn't decide if this guy was trying to stick up for his friend or be just plain creepy.

"Just keep it down," I muttered, turning to leave.

Weird.
