I thought it was imperative that I put the story up on this site because I've never seen anything like it before (on here). I see many different takes on boy-meets-girl, girl-falls-for-boy, trouble-ensues-they-end-things, they-resolve-their-problems-and-live-happily-ever-after. I didn't want Smiles and Secrets to be that way, I wanted you too be sad by the end, I wanted you to feel something different. I wanted all of this because life isn't always a Happy Ending.



I really hope that everyone enjoyed it even though this isn't a cookie-cutter type story that is normally on this site.

You don't have any idea how much your feedback means to me. :) Thank you so much. It makes me happy to see that this story will stay with you. I could have been more descriptive, but I thought that it would take away from the rawness of the story. And I also wanted the readers imagination to flow with my own.

It's perfectly fine that you listened to Skyskraper, I', just happy that you listened to music at all, since it is a big part of the story.

I earnestly implore you to heed my words in their literal and true form... I have never stumbled upon a story, regardless the length, that has moved and stirred such compassion for a character, both characters, like this one. When I read about people crying in their comments, I am skeptical at times, but today I did. It's bittersweet. And although it was dark, it had a different essence to it . . . I almost can't describe it. But this was beautiful and I truly felt like I captured what you were eager to express in this masterpiece. I hope more people recognize and praise you for this story. It deserves more votes than the repetitive scripts that linger on here... This story will haunt me, in a good way.

p.s. I cheated by listening to skyscraper on chapter 11, I was a mess.

Chpater 1: This is a different way to start a story, but I feel the sad intro sets a good platform for the rest of the chapters, which I like. It's sobering. I like the glimpse of normal and cute conversation, but then I'm reminded of the beginning again... Okay on with the show....chap 2....
