How It Used to Be

Waking up to slow classic jazz was Ajla’s idea of a perfect morning. She didn't want to get out of bed, though; until she felt small arms lightly wrapping around her neck. The tiny, cold fingers traced her cheekbones, and she smiled as she opened her eyes. Ajla’s 6 year old son, Ethan, was sitting across her abdomen and started bouncing on the bed. She picked him up from under his armpits while lying down, and kissed Ethan’s forehead. In from the door came Harry with her breakfast while he was pushing the door open with one foot. He flashed Ajla a cheeky smile as he was setting up a breakfast tray for her.
The smile reminded her of Harry’s younger days, and for that she giggled out of pleasantness. Harry looked up from what he was doing and smirked, “Just what do you think you’re laughing at?”.
Ajla forced herself to sit up from their bed and answered happily, “Oh nothing,” she wide smiled, “just thinking about the good ‘ol days.”
“What do you mean?” Harry questioned as he placed Ajla’s breakfast onto her thighs which were under the covers.
“You know, the concerts, the single and easy life…” she continued on.
“The sex?” Harry interrupted bluntly.
​ He forgot that Ethan was in their bedroom and looked over at their son embarrassed. But Ethan didn’t even listen to their conversation, and he slowly got himself up and toddled out of the room. They were both watching Ethan walk out of the room so they could be able to flow with their conversation.
“Ahh yes. The sex especially.” Ajla repeated. “I don’t think you could do as well as you used to.” Then winked at him.
Harry let out a loud chuckle, “Oh! Are you giving me a challenge?” and he couldn’t stop laughing.
Ajla started to laugh too, until her air was cut off by a soft, gentle kiss on her lips. Harry tossed the breakfast tray on the floor and neither one of them seemed to care about the mess; as they continued kissing. Soon he placed both of his ice, cold hands behind her neck, and started being more forceful by the second. Ajla placed one of her warm hands on Harry’s cheek, as she saw he got stiff to the heat from her hand. He pulled her in close, and Harry started getting more aggressive. He vigorously was ripping off Ajla’s shirt as he wouldn’t let go of her lips with his. She laughed under her breath and Harry pulled away, looking disappointed.
“Why’d you stop?” Ajla asked Harry and she placed her hand on his cheek, to lock her eyes on his.
“You laughed at me. Do you know how that makes me feel? Not good enough to be your husband.” He looked away from her, and had tears swelling up in his eyes.
Before Ajla could react he turned around and threw her on the bed, with her lying down and him sitting on top of her thighs. He tore off his shirt. Harry still had the muscular torso he had when he was 18, which made Ajla want him even more. He bent down and kissed her lips, then within every kiss he went lower each time. Harry sloppily kissed her collarbones while licking the skin stretching over the bone. Then he softly grabbed the nape of her neck and started sucking until she moaned. He smirked while Ajla was silently unbuckling Harry’s belt, but Harry reached down to grab her hand to stop her.
“Babe, this is for you.” He looked into her eyes and they smiled at each other as he continued to give her bruised kisses among her neck.
She slightly nudged the side of Harry’s face, and they locked their eyes on each other for the longest time, and for the rest of the morning the two lied down and held each other in their arms.
