Never Is A Promise

One of the scariest things about reviewing is definitely knowing that the story that you are reviewing is written by someone who is older than you, but that doesn’t mean that I’m going to sugarcoat anything (not that I need to).

The grammar was good. There were a few minor errors here and there, but all are easily forgiven. To be truthful, I don’t really look at grammar so much as I used to – unless it’s absolutely terrible, which yours isn’t.

Something about stories with long explanations that are repeated several times throughout the story bothers me. I just find it ridiculous for a character to nonchalantly explain a situation over and over again as different people ask. I’m sure the character is getting annoyed with these explanations too.

Still, I’m taking quite the liking to your story. A few things are a bit farfetched under certain circumstances and there are two main parts of the story where I got a little bit confused, but as I continued to read, I couldn’t it in myself to stop reading. I read all the way through to the last updated chapter before I even started to write this review. I’ll admit that I did go to sleep between reading because I can’t very well go on without sleep, but as soon as I woke up, I was back to reading almost immediately.

But backtracking to the parts that kind of confused me a little. The first part where I got confused was in the fourth chapter when she was talking to one of the other fans. I couldn’t really tell who was saying what to who when. Did MJ tell the fan that she looked like Mickole or the other way around and who is covering for who? The other part where I got confused was in chapter twenty-two when they’re checking into the hotel. Why is Zayn glaring at her and why is Harry embarrassed? But in all honesty, I confuse myself easily, so I probably just read something wrong or skipped over something accidentally.

Now, backtracking a little more to some of the kind of farfetched things. I find it kind of weird that her parents aren’t mentioned too often and the Aly is the only one waiting in the hospital. And then it’s kind of like the cancer isn’t of any concern to her after she’s out. She gets surgery, she lived, she checks out… that’s it? The other things that are farfetched I can understand, so I won’t mention them for the sake of how long this review is getting to be.

Overall though, I really do enjoy the story. You could even say I love it! I can’t wait for Harry to finally freaking figure out that it’s her and for her to leave that asshole of a “boyfriend”. Oh gosh, I think I might be saying too much now… So to sum up before I spoil the entire story, everyone needs read Never Is A Promise :)

I am just one person with strongly opinionated views on everything. If I made it clear that I strongly dislike your story, do not think that other people won’t enjoy it. There are many other readers with different views than me who will find interest in your story where I may not have. I hope you do take something out of this and improve on and continue your writing, but if you don’t, that’s fine too.
