Face Down

When Leah first came home last month, it was a little rough adjusting to the new presence in the house, and the third little mouth to feed, but Harry and I quickly got the rhythm down, and everything is perfect. She is sleeping through the night more often than not now, and she's only had three seizures since she came home, and all three of them were scary as hell! I didn't know my tiny little baby could shake like that, it was awful, but she hasn't had one in a while, which is fantastic! She's almost like nothing was ever wrong, she's just smaller than average, but the doctors say that she should catch up to other kids her age in development by the age of about three, so we'll see. Baby Leah has Harry wrapped around her little finger, I have never seen him so attached to anything in the entirety of our relationship, not even me, which doesn't bother me too much, since I can take care of myself, and don't need my diaper changed several times a day! My little family is perfect.
Just as Harry and I put Leah down for her nap, I hear a knock at the door, which woke Leah up. Harry looked at me with an angry and desperate expression on his face as he picked up a screaming Leah and began to rock her in an attempt to calm her down as I go to answer the door. I swing the door open, mad that I'm having to answer the door while my boyfriend rocks my baby to sleep for the second time, but my anger turns to shock as I see who is standing on my front porch.
"Harry!" I shout up the stairs. I'm hoping he can hear the worry in my voice, and is smart enough to leave Leah to throw her fit in her crib, but sadly he didn't. He came waltzing down the stairs with Leah in his arms, still trying to calm her down, but stops dead in his tracks as soon as he gets to the bottom step. His face fills with a fills with rage as he holds Leah closer to his body, as if he was trying to protect her.
"What the fuck do you want, Aaron?" he hisses. Aaron doesn't say anything, he just stares in awe in Harry and Leah's direction. I saw a tear roll down his cheek as he stared at our baby girl, who had calmed down a little bit, but was still crying softly.
Aaron takes a step into the house, and Harry takes two steps back in response. Harry had made it very clear that he didn't want Aaron ruining our family again, but here he was. Leah had stopped crying by this point, I assume she had tired herself out and gone to sleep again, but Harry was too mad to notice, he just clutched her to his chest defensively, and spoke in a quiet but angry voice.
"Are you going to answer me?" that made Aaron snap out of it a little bit, and look at me instead.
"I heard that our baby was born, and I wanted to meet her, I never even imagined that she'd be this beautiful and small." he said only to me, because he already knew how Harry felt about him being there, because Harry made no attempts to hide how he was feeling.
"I don't know if that is such a good idea right now, with all the tension this high, and all the wounds still fresh," I said sympathetically. I saw Aaron's face turn from utter amazement, into pure rage, and he started shouting.
"You can not keep me away from our baby!!!! She is just as much a part of me as she is of you, and she's not even HIS daughter!" he made sure to mention Harry in a venomous tone. Harry had taken Leah away, so she wouldn't be awoken by Aaron's temper tantrum. "If you don't let me be a part of her life, than I WILL fight for custody of her, and make sure that that ass hole has NOTHING to do with her life!" he screamed at me, by now his nose was just about touching mine, and I had to fight to stay calm.
"I think its time for you to leave, Aaron." I whispered, and he stomped out the front door, and slammed it behind him. I felt a warm tear roll down my cheek.
