I can’t go back home and face Aaron after what had just happened. He’d hit me again, and this time, I don’t think he’d stop… Giving Harry my number could get me killed, or at least put back in the hospital for “falling down the stairs” again. I didn’t know where I could go, Amber was out having sex with my brother, so I couldn’t see either of them until dinner tonight, before Mason had to get back on the road, so I just walked around the mall aimlessly, looking for something to do, until I felt my hone vibrate in my pocket.

Hello, Love. I just got off work, have you left yet?*
I smiled at my phone before replying.
*To: Harry
I’m still here. I’m near the food court(:*
I stared at my phone screen for several minutes, waiting for him to reply. He hadn’t yet, even though it said that he had already read it. My heart sank a little, until I felt someone snake their arm around my waist.
“Waiting for someone, Love?” Harry whispered in my ear before biting at my earlobe, causing me to giggle. I turned around to look at him. His playful smile quickly faded, turning to pure rage.
“Who hit you?” he motioned to bruised face. My makeup must have smeared. Shit. I let my gaze rest on the tops of my shoes, then I spoke quietly, almost to myself.
“I didn’t behave…” I trailed off.
I expected him to laugh and walk away, like everyone else did when I said that, but he didn’t. he wrapped me up in his arms and kissed the top of my head, and for a moment, I felt completely safe. Only a moment. I put my chin on his shoulder, and my eyes locked with the last person who needed to see this…
