Undercover

Sara’s p.o.v.

I texted Scarlet that I wanted to see her and Justin. Within seconds I got a reply. She wanted to meet in our favourite restaurant. Harry was driving us to the restaurant. He was talking to me about something but I was too deep in my thoughts to listen. Scarlet used to be my best friend, my everything. She was the one I trusted with deepest and darkest secrets. But she used me in every single way.

*Flashback*

“Scar, do you think that Justin will like this one on me?” I asked holding a dress and looking in the mirror.

“Of course he will. But I think he would prefer you more naked” Scarlet said.

I hit her with a pillow and I sat down next to her on my bed. “I’m serious. He is so distracted lately.” I said

“What do you mean?” She asked

“He’s acting weird. I don’t know why but I have a feeling that another girl is involved” I told her honestly. She gave me a weird look. A mixture of quilt, sadness and anger.

“If there is another I’ll kill her” She joked
“No one is killing anyone on my 16th birthday. And who Is your date today?” I asked hugging her

“Why must girls always have a date. Justin and you are my date” She told me getting up and fixing her dress.

“Hey, I’m just wondering. You always have a date” I stated the obvious

“I’m going with Max. You happy know?”

“Very!” I smiled. Max is perfect for her. I hope he stays for a while then we all could go on a double date.

*End flashback*

How naïve I was back then. I never suspect that Scarlet and Justin where sleeping together. Scarlet was Justin’s first. I slept with him after I had turned 17. That was around the time Scarlet returned from boarding school for troubled teens.

“Sara? Sara! Hello?! Are you listening?” Harry asked

“Oh I’m sorry. What did you ask?”

“Does Scarlet know about you being a cop and the whole undercover thing?”

“She knows that I’m a cop but nothing about you. Just pretend that you are my boyfriend. And another thing. We are moving into my place after your sister and mom leave.”

“Why?”

“Because someone broke in your house (Some chapters ago). My house is more secured. I had filled in some papers a couple of days ago and some cops checked and cleared my house. So it’s more safe for you.”

“Okay” He simply said

“Okay? You’re not going to fight me on that?” I asked

“No, why would I? You are doing this for my safety and I want to see you house” He smirked

He parked the car. I took a deep breath in and out. Let’s do this!
“Remember. This is my best friend. She knows everything about me so be careful. And Justin is my ex but also my best friend so the same goes for him.”

“Don’t worry I got it.”
