Chapter 30
Gabby’s POV:
I closed my door and threw my things from my old purse into my mother’s and ran down the stairs. Much to my surprise my father and Harry were laughing together.
Harry looked over at me, “Wow Gabby, you look beautiful…”
I blushed; looking at him in black dress pants and a white button down shirt was very different from his white tshirts and black skinny jeans.
“Thanks, you don’t look too bad yourself.”
He smiled and turned to my father, “It was very nice to meet you Mr. West.”
I heard my mother’s small footsteps coming down the stairs, “Oh, Harry! It’s so nice to meet you, again.”
He blushed, clearly embarrassed by their last encounter, “I apologize for that, it was inappropriate. I hope we can over look that?” He added a charming smile.
I had never seen Harry act so…so…proper. My mother was swooning over his every word.
“Of course, Harry. It was nice to meet you, officially. Have a fun night.”
My father had to put his two cents in, “I hope you will have her home by midnight?”
Harry nodded his head, “Of course, and not a minute later.”
“Glad to hear it.” My father added with a smile.
I smiled to my parent, “See you guys when I get home…”
“Have a good night!” They said in unison.
I walked out the door and Harry followed behind me. “That was weird…”
“Why?” He asked.
“Because I never thought my father would react like that.”
“Is that how he acted around Quinton?” He opned the car door for me.
I waited until he got into the car, “My father wasn’t around to meet Quinton.” I shivered at his name.
“I am so sorry, Gabby. I didn’t mean-“
I smiled at him, “It’s fine, I swear.”
He smiled back at me, and he put his hand on my thigh. I didn’t know if he was looking for my hand or not. I grabbed his hand and laced mine through his. I could feel his pulse racing. He was actually nervous.
“Where are we even going?” I tried to make him less nervous.
“Alejandro’s.”
What? “Oh, okay.” I didn’t know what else to say.
“Wait is that okay?”
“I just- Quinton’s father owns it.”
“I had no idea. We can go somewhere else.”
“No, you had that planned, we can go there.”
He took his hand out of mine and wheeled the car in the opposite direction by taking a u-turn. “Harry please.”
“No, there is no way in hell I am bringing you near him or anyone that is close to him.”
I was glad he wasn’t taking me there. “There’s no where else to go!” I tried to reason with him, so he didn’t feel too bad.
“There are other places. I know a place we can go.”
His voice was less edgy and he placed his hand back in mine. His pulse was even faster than before.
Harry’s POV:
I am so stupid; it’s unbelievable. There was no way I was going to bring her to that restaurant. I would rather go to my step-mother’s restaurant, which now, I was going to have to do.
“Where are we going Harry?” I heard worry in Gabby’s voice.
“We’re here.” I said as I pulled into Al Dente’s. I really didn’t want to be here, but I had no other choice.
I got out of the car and opened Gabby’s door for her, “Harry, you have to have reservations like months in advance for this place!” I could her the surprise in her voice.
“Don’t worry about it.” I tried to reassure her.
“You’re not going to kill someone right?” I could see her trying not to laugh at her own really bad joke.
“Shut up.” I said as I wrapped my arm around her waist and pulled her closer to me. I opened the door and led us up to the hostess stand. I looked around for my father, Dan or his new wife, Maria. I didn’t see any sign of them, which I was grateful for, but I needed them,.
“How many?” The young girl asked.
“Where is Dan, or Maria?”
“Who’s asking?” She asked, politely.
“Harry, Harry Styles.”
“Harry? Is that you?” I heard a small voice behind me. I turned around and saw a small blonde in a pink dress. Maria.
“Yeah, in the flesh. Do you have a table for two available?”
I pulled Gabby even closer to me; I think I was suffocating her.
“Of course, we always have room for you.” She added with a smile.
“Is my father here?”
“Yes, he’s in the back. I will tell him you’re here…”
“Please don’t.” I sounded desperate, “I mean, I will see him on our way out.”
“Okay, let me get you some menus.” She passed us and went to the young girl and told her she was taking us to table 54, whatever that meant. She signaled us to walk with her into the next room.
“Your father misses you Harry…”
“Don’t. You shouldn’t have to make excuses for him.”
“We just don’t want Kyle to be around- uh- around-“
“Me. I get it.” I just wanted to be alone with Gabby. She was being very quiet.
“So who’s this?” Maria asked, signaling to Gabby.
“This is Gabby, she’s my friend.”
I heard a small laugh escape from Gabby as she loosened my grip off of her waist. I didn’t mean to introduce her as my friend, I just didn’t know what else to call her.
“It’s nice to meet you, Gabby.” Maria smiled at her.
“Nice to meet you too, this is a really lovely restaurant.” She gave Maria the same smile that I loved seeing.
“Thank you. I will make sure you two get a bottle of our best wine…if that’s okay…”
“That would be great.” Gabby smiled at her.
With that, Maria was off.
I looked at Gabby with raised eyebrows, “I thought you didn’t drink.”
“I thought we were more than friends.” She shot back.
I knew I was in for a long night.

eekkkk! the date! dont worry, Gabby doesnt stay "mad" for too long, she is just more annoyed. but i will make sure things go smoothly throughout the dinner ;) and i know i didnt use Harry's dad's real name, but i think you all know why! but i really hope you guys like it, and i cant believe this is chapter 30?!!! that's unreal! but i love you all and with out you guys i literally wouldnt be writing this, so thank you so so so so much <33rate | comment | subscribe :)
